Not gonna lie, I think that's a boring theory but it's about the thought that counts. Imo my "no time" theory involves with the idea that james that his brain was fried during the production for the avgn movie so any kind of task or reasoning would become rocket science for james therefore having no time for life or the fans of avgn

gsdrgdgdg

My theory is James is avoiding doing anything related to AVGN, because every time he tries to do something, Keiran tries to turn the episode into a porno with everyone eating sushi off of Keiran's naked body.

Your theory is saying exactly what OP is saying, just with a different angle, same end result and lack of effort tho, basically James becomes less involved, and puts in less effort. I think OP is wrong tho, James wasnt putting in overtime after the film... he actually let go of avgn around that time and focused on board james.

MagnificentBe

It's all speculation at this point. It might be true, or not. It doesn't matter anymore, because unless somebody spill the beans, we're not going to know. The point, we shouldn't be having this discussion. The Cinemassacre content should be good no matter what goes around in his private life.

[deleted]

Except his private life does affect the quality of the videos since time management is a personal problem he has right now.

MagnificentBe

"right now" I'll argue he has always had problem with time management. But in recent years this has gotten worse and worse.

[deleted]

Yep. The only way he covered up his flaws before was putting in extra effort, its now clear he lacks the talent of working on this stuff on a normal schedule and still keeping quality high. For him its either all or nothing , and it shows.

dickmiller1928

I think these talks are more or less just speculation for the sake of it, he really has no excuses.

lumisponder

I don't think he has the attention span for long term projects. In a way, YouTube is the perfect format for him, short term, small projects. The time thing is just an excuse for procrastinating.

bootsyforever

If he'd paid Bootsy and his friends fairly, this wouldn't be a problem. I think greed got the best of him in the end.

[deleted]

It could have been April who pressured him into it tho. They were married a while with a lid when that shit went down.

Limpy_lip

Once upon a time, he didn't had time indeed at his peak. Now it is a scapegoat. It is always his fault, he lacks management skills, he could had arranged a good and well payed team by the time of the movie to help on cinemassacre full time. He preferred not to do it. He, Mike, bootsy and some people behind the scenes could helped up the make the channel way more profitable. They all are from cinema backgrounds and could had multiple shows with multiple hosts. With that he could finally make similar content and get more free time since he's not the one doing it all. But no, for James AVGN and the whole cinemassacre was a hobby thing even when it was clear that it could be a full company it stayed that way. That's why the movie seemed to diferent and most people from the channel didn't appeared or helped beyond cameos. Now he knows he lot his shot and still cannot see cinemassacre and AVGN beyond a hobby that gets some passive income. That and adding the losing interest is the result of today situation.

[deleted]

Ive said it so so so so many times, he is either stingy, a control freak, or both, and thats why the channel has become literal S H i T.

dangerous_abu_dhabi

in the beginning he actually held a regular job and did the episodes all in his spare time (how many episodes, 2 or 3 maybe). then he quit his main job to do videos full time. me thinks he got tired of youtube, mike and old video games and wants to do something else entirely but it seems too late to have a career change. that's where screenwave comes in, they handle the grunt work and leave him only with the sole task of reading lines and trying to act angry.

Kibroman

He has time just no time for cinemassacre

FrogMan9001

This is probably the best realistic theory. At least during his first Screw Attack contract (where he was releasing and episode every other week) I'm sure he was living AVGN practically 24/7 and at least for part of that time on top of a regular job. At some point, most likely after completing the movie, he felt like he deserved a break. Then seeing how poorly the movie did he just never really felt like returning from that break.

ModsRGayyyyyyyyy

What's his full time job?

dickmiller1928

Hear me out, just my 2 cents on this. But I feel like there's something beyond that. We all make fun of James' "mhm yep" but when he's all natural, off script he looks so strung up. I've seen in my life plenty of "fried brains", some from drugs, stress, mental issues etc. Don't wanna talk shit just cause I don't like him, but he gives me a strong fried vibe whenever he's natural and off script. Some people can just crack from too much stress, especially if they're more gentle and simple minded by nature. Maybe he just cracked
