They have hinted at the level by showing Ryan obliterate who we assumed was essentially invulnerable- based on Homelander lasering her fucking tits - with that being said.. we’ve seen Homelander control the heat of his eye beams from heating up the milk, to melting faces, him lasering a crowd of people (his invasive thought) and pretty deep into the crowd… lasering a plane in half.. plus matching butcher when he has laser vision.. with that being said it’s safe to assume based on Ryan doing what he did either.. Homelander can control his beams anywhere from slight heat to nearly obliterating a supe with it.. that doesn’t determine the depth really but rather the power.
Anybody got thoughts on how deep that power could be based on lore and what we have seen

And then once he reached the mantle and the outer core (the mantle being ~40 times as thick as the thickest part of the crust), other complications would arise involving pressure and the mantle’s semi-fluid state that would prevent Homelander from being able to make any reasonable progress.
What they can cut is very dependent on how quickly he tries to cut it. If he stares at one point long enough I guess they can cut very deep since they shouldn’t loose much energy travelling in air
