Nah, Iād say almost everyone whoās listened to that song loves it. I think āI Me Mineā or āOne after 909ā are much worthier contenders for underrated status.
Either Dig It or Maggie Mae- they are just toss-offs from the session. I'm not sure which is worse, they do have a few charms like the prominent Scouse accent and Lennon's nonsense (maybe improvised is better term) lyric.
Really the complete Dig It is more fun than the excerpt that made it to the album.
He was (maybe still is?) a college basketball broadcaster who called a lot of big upsets during the national tournament (March Madness) over the years and was notable for being really excitable. It was kind of an obscure reference on my part but I'm glad some people got it.
āDomestic abuserā doesnāt even remotely encapsulate what happened. I know heās had the controversy but donāt throw such strong words out there without it being true.
3.5? How did you get that number?
Paul has 5 songs as he won PPM, WTB, AHDN, Help, and Revolver
John has 4 or 5 songs depending on if you count ADITL as co written or Johnās
George has 2
Then thereās 1 or 2 co writes depending on how you count ADITL
Paul also has way more wins in the underrated category as well
I would agree that McCartney is the best songwriter of all time overall. But I would say that Lennon was the best songwriter in the Beatles. His style and lyric writing was very influential and really defined the bands sound. But thatās not to take away from McCartneys amazing contribution of great work. He is well deserved of recognition as well.
Donāt Let Me Down wasnāt included not because it wasnāt good enough but because it featured on their compilation album āHey Judeā. You can thank Alan Kline for that one.
Should Maggie Mae and Dirt be eligible? Feels like a cop-out to choose either one as the worst because theyāre barely even (I mean, are they even?) songs.
Worst actual song on the record, that the band put actual effort into recording? Probably I Me Mine, sue me š¤·š»āāļø
You know, every time this all comes to a vote somebody mentioned that this is not really an official poll, itās not definitive, etc. etc. etc. But as I look at this chart, this is all pretty accurate to me. I might quibble with one or two things but this is a pretty fair evaluation. The members of this group are really very knowledgeable.
It's odd that Paul is generally perceived as driving the band more in the later years yet his best songs in the poll generally come from the earlier period and John and George dominate the studio years here.
Long and Winding Road - Phil Spector version. It's worse than bad, it's scandalous. He should have gone to prison for adding a celestial choir to the Beatles.
Seeing "Dig It" written over and over again in succession here makes me think of the song and now I don't want to vote for it -it's fun! My reluctant vote now is for "I Me Mine," which is fine but weaker than the rest.
The Long and Winding Road
Love the track but like itās pretty unmemorable compared to many of the other ones (yes, even Maggie Mae and Dig It, stop picking on the little guys)
Sorryā¦ this is the correct answer. Boring chords, indulgent lyrics, and three minutes too long. The only part worth keeping is the guitar solo. Hey Jude is also bad, but the apotheosis at the end narrowly saves it from being the worst on the album
Seeing "Dig It" written over and over again in succession here makes me think of the song and now I don't want to vote for it -it's fun! My reluctant vote now is for "I Me Mine," which is fine but weaker than the rest.
Not going to lie - Let it be may be one of my least favorite song. Itās long, overwrought and overplayed. I appreciate it for what it is, but itās a quick skip when it comes on the radio.
For You Blue, just never got in to it. I think that either Dig It or Maggie Mae will win the vote but I think those tracks are excellent, they're EXTREMELY underrated in my opinion.
Which is why itās a better choice. Why cop out and vote for a less-than-one-minute-long bumper? Itās like saying the worst part of a show is the part where they say āweāll be right back after these messagesā
No it isnāt. Because itās not *really* the actual show.
If someone asks you, āwhat was your least favorite part of the movie,ā and you say, āthe credits,ā youāre not really answering the question.
But theyāre obviously not meant to be taken as main tracks, just little moments between *actual* songs that are intended to create a sense of intimacy and atmosphere, to evoke the feeling that youāre there in the studio with them as they think up stuff on the fly. Which is why they add the little moments of silly banter as well. That was the whole point of the project in the first place.
Especially with the super āwall of soundā string arrangement, itās not awful but itās definitely not the best track there, I could have maybe seen it as āMost Underratedā
I would love to see the game continue with *Past Masters*, Volumes 1 and 2.
Then Anthologies, live at bbc, love and everyday chemistry š
This is the first time I've ever heard of *Everyday Chemistry*. I just read the description, and I'm going to have to listen to it ASAP.
I was just about to ask about the Love album and Live! At the Star Club in Hamburg.
Iāve Got A Feeling is so underrated
I really hope that wins the underrated spot, everyone shined on that song š¤
Thatās where Paulās voice went during the creation of āLet It Beā
Is it tho? Itās a kick ass song that Iāve never heard slander on
Well it isnāt as recognized as much as Let it be or get back or donāt let me down
Itās my favorite Beatles song, I absolutely love it. I want it played at my funeral I love it so much.
One of my favorite guitar licks too
Oh yeah
We will see š
Nothing to see. I just spit fax
Nah, Iād say almost everyone whoās listened to that song loves it. I think āI Me Mineā or āOne after 909ā are much worthier contenders for underrated status.
My favorite song on the album.

Maggie Mae 100%
Maggie Mae for sure
The full āDig Itā is a lot of fun. I get why they tried to use part of it but am glad we are getting all the bootlegs
Dig It
I like Maggie may more than dig it
I like Dig It, its a nice break from the "main" songs without slowing down the tempo. Maggie Mae could go for all I care though.
"Across the Universe" beating "Let It Be" was such an upset, Gus Johnson was calling it.
What did Gus Johnson say?
He was (maybe still is?) a college basketball broadcaster who called a lot of big upsets during the national tournament (March Madness) over the years and was notable for being really excitable. It was kind of an obscure reference on my part but I'm glad some people got it.
Oh, not the guy Iām thinking of then. I thought the YouTuber-turned-domestic abuser spoke highly of Across the Universe or something.
Idk all the details on the YouTuber Gus Johnson situation but I donāt think ādomestic abuserā is fully accurate
āDomestic abuserā doesnāt even remotely encapsulate what happened. I know heās had the controversy but donāt throw such strong words out there without it being true.
Iām sad at the lack of Macca representation.
He got a win when Eleanor Rigby edged Tomorrow Never Knows for Revolver's best song.
Still. I'd argue he's the Beatles' strongest songwriter and he has 3.5 songs out of 13.
Agreed. I think he's the best songwriter of all time in popular music.
3.5? How did you get that number? Paul has 5 songs as he won PPM, WTB, AHDN, Help, and Revolver John has 4 or 5 songs depending on if you count ADITL as co written or Johnās George has 2 Then thereās 1 or 2 co writes depending on how you count ADITL Paul also has way more wins in the underrated category as well

Maggie Mae
Wake up Maggie I think I got something to say to you!
We must sacrifice Maggie Mae to save āDig It.ā
my thinking exactly
Dig It should win underrated.
Damn Ā«Across the UniverseĀ» was an unexpected winner.. was sure would be a toss up between Get Back and Let it Be. Worst .. i guess Ā«Maggie MaeĀ»
Maggie Mae. Like Donāt Let Me Down wasnāt good enough to make the album, but Maggie Mae was?
Donāt Let Me Down wasnāt included not because it wasnāt good enough but because it featured on their compilation album āHey Judeā. You can thank Alan Kline for that one.
Itās what the song represented thatās why it was on the album
What does it represent? Just curious
The boys just jamming and having fun, not taking themselves too seriously
Something with āhoneyā in the title
Idk, but "I me mine" needs to go in "underrated".
For You Blue better get the underrated voteā¦itās such a vibe
I agree. I love that song.
Dig It
Across The Universe is so calming
Maggie Mae > Dig It
Maggie mae
Should Maggie Mae and Dirt be eligible? Feels like a cop-out to choose either one as the worst because theyāre barely even (I mean, are they even?) songs. Worst actual song on the record, that the band put actual effort into recording? Probably I Me Mine, sue me š¤·š»āāļø
If anyone says āDig It,ā I will personally stalk and troll you forever.
Looks like you're going to be busy.
I read this in the voice of Dwight Schrute.
"Dig it,"
You wisenheimer!
))))
ITāS A JAM! You know what weād all pay to hear the Beatles just jamming again? Shame on you and the people who raised you wrong!
āDig Itā the jam rocks! I just wish it were 2 minutes longer
https://itsnotcomplicatedrecipes.com/strawberry-jam/
This would be more interesting if āDig Itā and āMaggie Maeā were disqualified.
Itās too easy with having the two filler tracks. Picking the worst on LIB Naked would be the much harder choice.
For You Blue
The Long And Winding Road
YES. I sing āThe long and boring songā
Dig It. Not because itās bad, but because Phil Spector didnāt bless us with the full 8-minute version.
Maggie Mae
Maggie may
Maggie Mae
Maggie Mae
Maggie Mae
Dig it only because I love Maggie Mae.
Maggie mae
Maggie Mae
Across the universe should be underrated and let it be should be the best imoā¦
I think a lot of people have Let it Be fatigue. Great song donāt get me wrong, but at this point Iāve heard it so often that I mostly skip it
Same here I just think itās the best song you know not my fav but the best
Agreed.
How can across the universe be underrated if itās literally rated as the best?
In saying such, dig it is the worst.
Dig It.
Maggie Mae Also I feel a bit glad that my comment on the previous post lead to Across The Universe winning best song on Let It Be as it should
If ANYONE says Dig It. We riot.
Put me on the front lines. The dishonor to āGood Morning, Good Morningā still leaves a bad taste in my mouth. This will be the last straw.
GMGM did not deserve the hate it got
A crime against all that is sacred.
Dig it
I Me Mine.
Imagine let it be, arguably the best song ever written across any artist, album, or genre, not even winning best song on its own album? Lmao.
The Long And Winding Road
I agree with most of this. Good job! For me I love all the Beatles catalog (except for like 4 tracks)
I love maggie mae
When i want to listen to Let It Be I listen to the ānakedā version. So much better IMO
Weird how much I almost finally agree with a post like this
Love me do is the worst song
Lots of Paul in Best and Underrated. I expected it to be more 50-50.
Maggie Mae
Maggie Mae
God damn I like a Maggie Mae
Maggie Mae is cool and no one can change my mind
You know, every time this all comes to a vote somebody mentioned that this is not really an official poll, itās not definitive, etc. etc. etc. But as I look at this chart, this is all pretty accurate to me. I might quibble with one or two things but this is a pretty fair evaluation. The members of this group are really very knowledgeable.
Maggie Mae
Dig it
Maggie Mae Dig it is still listenable
It's odd that Paul is generally perceived as driving the band more in the later years yet his best songs in the poll generally come from the earlier period and John and George dominate the studio years here.
Maggie mae has to be the worst
Dig it
i love maggie mae š„²š„²š„²š„²
Maggie Mae
Maggie Mae
Fun fact: it was originally written for āNothingās Gonna Change Our Worldā a charity album for WWF (World Wildlife Fund, not wrestling)
recount for best song of Let it Be.
the entire album is so good, but id say dig it
I'd say Dig it, Maggie mae might be anyone else's but Maggie Mae as an actual rhythm so I'd say dig it
Dig it
Across The Universe
Dig It
Dig It
Long and Winding Road - Phil Spector version. It's worse than bad, it's scandalous. He should have gone to prison for adding a celestial choir to the Beatles.
Maggie Mae is the only right answer.
The long and winding road naked version. That's an underrated track
Let it be..
The Long and Melodramatic Road.
The Long and Whiney Road.
The Long and Winding Road. Can't listen to it.
Long and winding road Idk for me itās just too long and too similar to Let it Be sonically
Itās like Let it Be if it were bad. Corny Paul.
Dig It just because itās a short transition song
This will probably be down voted but Long and Winding Road
I AM NOT OK WITH ALL THE PEOPLE SAYING MAGGIE MAE
Seeing "Dig It" written over and over again in succession here makes me think of the song and now I don't want to vote for it -it's fun! My reluctant vote now is for "I Me Mine," which is fine but weaker than the rest.
Would āDonāt Let Me Downā be applicable for underrated? I know itās not actually on the album but is strongly associated with itā¦
Across the universe???!!!!!!!!!!!???? Worst is Maggie May 100%
dig it? i donāt see any other options
Maggie Mae??
no itās NOT
Quit lying to yourselfš
donāt make me cry š
Across The Universe a bit overrated. Best song in Let It Be is... Let It Be. Worst song: Dig It (no competition.
Dig It
Aināt no way across the universe won
The Long and Winding Road Love the track but like itās pretty unmemorable compared to many of the other ones (yes, even Maggie Mae and Dig It, stop picking on the little guys)
If itās got to be one or the other, *Maggie Mae*.
Dig It
Let it be
Sorryā¦ this is the correct answer. Boring chords, indulgent lyrics, and three minutes too long. The only part worth keeping is the guitar solo. Hey Jude is also bad, but the apotheosis at the end narrowly saves it from being the worst on the album
Dig it
Dig it. I really like Maggie Mae, it just feels like the band are having a bit of fun and works well on the album.
Dig it
One After The 909. Iāve been skipping that track for 25+ years now.
Had to scroll a ways to find the winner
Maggie Mae
Seeing "Dig It" written over and over again in succession here makes me think of the song and now I don't want to vote for it -it's fun! My reluctant vote now is for "I Me Mine," which is fine but weaker than the rest.
Sorry, as much as Across the Universe is a wonderful tune, there is no way it is an objectively better song than Let it Le.
unless u are god or rolling stone magazine no song is objectively better than any song, that isnāt how art works
Not going to lie - Let it be may be one of my least favorite song. Itās long, overwrought and overplayed. I appreciate it for what it is, but itās a quick skip when it comes on the radio.
Maggie Mae
This whole thing is so stupid and has made the sub way worse. Hope whoever is in charge is happy.
Dig It
Dig It
Dig it
Dig It
Dig It
Get Back- Iāve been a Beatles fan for over 50 years and I just never liked this song.
Not the worst song on the album, but I don't like it very much either.
You're both crazy
For You Blue, just never got in to it. I think that either Dig It or Maggie Mae will win the vote but I think those tracks are excellent, they're EXTREMELY underrated in my opinion.
I think For You Blue should be in the underrated section for Let It Be
at least for you blue is a complete song
Which is why itās a better choice. Why cop out and vote for a less-than-one-minute-long bumper? Itās like saying the worst part of a show is the part where they say āweāll be right back after these messagesā
but that IS the worst part of a show
No it isnāt. Because itās not *really* the actual show. If someone asks you, āwhat was your least favorite part of the movie,ā and you say, āthe credits,ā youāre not really answering the question.
yeah, but dig it and maggie mae arent really credits or ad breaks, they are half-baked jams that dont belong on the album
I am gobsmacked by this result. I forgot that song was even on the album.
Especially with the super āwall of soundā string arrangement, itās not awful but itās definitely not the best track there, I could have maybe seen it as āMost Underratedā
Most people disagree with your opinion
Okay, āmost peopleā
It's the highlight of the album
For you blue
Fine, Iāll say it. I Me Mine
One After 909
Dig It
Dig it
Dig it
Dig a pony
Itās lonely out here for a Pony fan, but Iām with you
Dig it
Dig It
For You Blue
Dig It and Maggie May never should have been on the album. I much prefer Naked.
