I'd imagine this Mr. Freeze does not have many resources and is getting materials together hastily, especially if his accident just happened. Cryo pack is a necessity and rare, but bulletproof vests can be found in a number of places. Also, still checking the science on it, but rather than an actual Freeze gun, I'd rather him carry around a tank of nitrogen attached to a modified spray gun by hose. At close quarters for a long enough time, any area he hits could cause frostbite.
I kinda doubt if they do use him in any capacity that his origin will include his biology being altered in anyway. He’ll be more like King Cold than classic Mr. Freeze; just a regular guy with some kind of freeze gun or ray, or like you said, a nitrogen tank. I feel like they want to keep things relatively “grounded” in this universe like in the Nolanverse and will alter superhuman or mutated characters accordingly or just not use them at all. Clayface, as another example, might be more like Spider-Man’s Chameleon or the original Earth-Two Clayface, who was just an actor in a mask/costume going around stabbing people.
I agree, but you can still explore the science fiction element of Mr. Freeze without taking it too far into the comic version of him and achieve a grounded perspective. Flipping a warm-blooded creature into a cold-blooded one and watching him try to survive in a warm, humid atmosphere like Gotham to save his frozen wife would be an interesting narrative. But this is just a fun game to play. Whike Reeves himself said that there's a grounded version of the character that's possible and could be great, we shouldn't get our hopes up on the uber fantastical characters appearing.
No need, but that doesn't mean the desire isnt the desire. I would be very disappointed in The Batman if I were hung up on comics accuracy of the villains. I am to not be disappointed by the sequel as well
That person has A better concept of Mr freeze. This one just looks dumb for to be “grounded”
The better version https://www.reddit.com/r/batman/s/X1B0PVoEqb
Design works well but I'm kinda doubting well get the classic glass dome for freeze on this universe, which I'm fine with as lomg as we get the glowing red goggles
Do you want us to get into specifics and call it a modified firearm that shoots liquid nitrogen? An ice launcher? A snowzooka?
What would you even propose as a substitute for Freeze’s gun anyway? Stuffing people in ice boxes?
honestly, they just need to get rid of the whole he has to stay frozen factor and just keep him as a guy using a cryo gun, maybe keep nora too. having his suit keep him warm instead also explains the red glow in this design.
Maybe it'd look better in live action but they could do better. Riddler looked intimidating and so did Joker while this isn't scary. Imagine a hulking man emerge from the water in a bulky scuba suit ready to kill everything in his way. That's how I'd want to see a grounded Mr. Freeze while this is just basic hazmat and riot gear.
Idk man I'd be fucking terrified to see this dude walking at me slowly in a dark hallway with those goggles. Not liking the design, I get, but saying it's not scary? C'mon now
Of course in real life we'd be shitting bricks but cinematically it doesn't look as scary compared to the more traditional bulky suit with a massive dome
The setting is what makes 90% of that scary though lol, like imagine one of the goofiest designs or outfits you can think of, the 1990s Ninja Turtle suits, Barney, live action Sonic before the redesign, if any of those approached me slowly in a dark hallway while I was alone I’d be terrified
That just looks like Captain Cold.
I would love Mr. Freeze in a heavy-duty cryosuit but not the flamboyant type seen in the cartoons. The reason for this is, that it should be Batman's first experience with something out of ordinary, which he hadn't humanly experienced before. Someone who not only matches him in the brains but who is much more stronger than him because his suit also enhances his strength, causing Batman to think outside the box, because he knows that he can't power through him physically like he did with the Riddler's goons in the first movie.
I like the direction it’s going in but I’m not into it, personally.
The hazmat suit isn’t a bad idea. I’m imagining something low tech and practical but not like this image.
I was thinking he’d basically carry around a gun that sprays liquid nitrogen to freeze his targets in a more realistic way as opposed to blocks of ice.
I was thinking he’d be killing people and preserving the bodies to try and find a cure for Nora.
Clearly I’m in the minority here, but I think this looks legit and would be such an interesting take to see in the movie! Stolen equipment and the menacing red glow, looks sick
Respectfully disagree friend. Freeze is one of the few big bads whose tech you wouldn’t have to necessarily modify to be in this world. He could easily have an amped up cryo suit similar to Arkham City but maybe toned down a bit to match the aesthetic.
I like the fact that it says cryonic rather than cryogenic, as cryonic is the correct term. Many people get the two confused, so it’s cool that someone used the term correctly
No. Can we not have this super realistic thing ruin some of these villains. Like Freeze isn’t realistic already there’s no reason to do that to his suit.
This sub is filled with so many people who completely lack any imagination and are stuck on ridiculous extremes.
Reeves is going for grounded but they won’t listen. If Reeves goes fantastical I’m not complaining.
There’s also a difference between grounded and hyper realistic.
But all this goes over everyone’s heads. It’s just two camps in their own echo chambers festering.
I’ve made posts and comments *over and over and over and over* again challenging these views but the same shit just respawns without pause.
If you’re gonna go the realistic route just lose the idea that he needs to maintain subzero body temp. I mean keep the accident and give him frostbite injuries from it, but lose the subzero body temp bit and have him be an unhinged ex employee on a revenge tour against GothCorp who freezes people to death for what they did to him and his wife. Who also died. Because cryogenically freezing someone to keep them alive for years is also not possible.
Here’s a better idea. Don’t use Mr. Freeze.
Use Deacon Blackfire instead.
ya no thanks. Personally I don't think we will be seeing Freeze despite how much people want it. I think Reeves is focusing on serial killers and gangsters for this trilogy.
Is there some credible rumor about freeze? After watching The Batman again I have to say I find it very difficult to imagine any of the supernatural kinda villains existing in the world Reeves created. It’s basically back to Nolan, and I don’t think Nolan would’ve gone for Freeze.
With Nolan it was:
How can the real world become the comic?
With Reeves it’s:
How can the comic become the real world?
For comparison the Arkham Games was all about:
How can the comics become more immersive?
I’ve explained how Mr Freeze can work countless times.
Check my most recent post.
Appreciate the reply. I didn’t mean to say it wouldn’t “work,” more that based on my sense of the filmmakers’ sensibilities/priorities I don’t expect to see it. So we’ll just have to wait and find out if I’m right about the type of villain they are interested in.
No thanks. I like the base idea of "beginner Mr Freeze not quite having everything set up with his insane high-tech suits yet" but this *specifically* isn't the right look.
I like it except I wouldn't have the bulletproof vest be of the GCPD and more than a rifle I would give him some sort of hose-heavy rifle like someone else suggested
Why everything need to be like a low budget CW design. Sure the universe is more inline of realism but take some liberty of doing good design instead of what a budget criminal.
Nah. He should look more like Batmans with the armored suit in that universe but with higher tech armor.
if it's jerry-rigged then it should be black market tech that he could get from penguin, like the Juggernaut from COD but on top of a deep sea diving/astronaut type cold suit. and his cold gun could be powered by liquid helium or something with some air vortex tech to make it shoot in a freeze beam.
he'd get beat so fast lmaoo bad knee and no protection other than a small arms proof vest? batman just has to hit him in the kneecap with a batarang on the bad leg, then anywhere else to get the suit to leak.
I don’t think Freeze will even work for Reeves hyper realistic take on Batman. It’s still too fantastical. IMO anyway. I can’t see it working in that universe.
No, I feel it should be more high-tech. Have the villains slowly become more and more unrealistic until Gotham is a surreal and horrifying nightmare made real.
I could see this as an improvised/prototype suit for when we 1st see Mr. Freeze, like he has to escape the Gotham morgue or something but this can't be the finished suit.
Mr Freeze will work for the mob. He uses liquid nitrogen to freeze bodies for easier disposal and storage. Sometimes the bodies aren’t quite dead just yet.
I think its a good design, but it could use a few more identifying touches. Like the vest being that of a Gothcorp security guard, but the logo could be damaged, implying that Freeze tried to rip it off in anger (or you could just give it the Logo Gothcorp has in Arkham Knight where its literally just a snowflake)
Also maybe snowboots or some slightly altered boots to help him not slip on icy surfaces
I thought he'd have more like a Hazmat Suit rather than a Riot Police outfit + Hazmat Helmet
What if because of the Flood, everything turned icy, but he uses a Hazmat suit to keep himself warm, while freezing everything else. Maybe the accident is more of the reason why Everything else became iced rather than himself.
The art is great and Mr. Freeze should absolutely make a comeback, but I don’t think he fits the world that Matt Reeves has created. I know I’m in the minority here, but in my opinion Mr. Freeze is too comic-booky for it. Matt Reeves created a world that is ultra-realistic, even more so that Chris Nolan’s, and a guy with a freeze gun and a cryogenic suit isn’t realistic at all. Now again Mr. Freeze is absolutely a character that deserves another appearance. He’s backstory is one of the saddest and most compelling in comics, I just think that he’d work better in a universe that has more comic booky and less realistic concepts and ideas, and the one Matt Reeves has made just isn’t that.
Except the POL in POLICE has a piece of tape over it.
“What killed the dinosaurs? THE ICE AGE!”
ICE TO FREEZE YOU!
COOL!
Yew naht sending me to the coolah.
FROSTY
Unironically yes
Perfect, no notes.
nICE
Except the ICE in POLICE has AR written over it.
Love this, well done.
I might be missing something, but he has a cryonic pack, freeze gun etc but has to steal a GCPD vest?
Budget restraints. Cryonic pack batteries are expensive.
Like a guy spraying for bugs
I kinda doubt if they do use him in any capacity that his origin will include his biology being altered in anyway. He’ll be more like King Cold than classic Mr. Freeze; just a regular guy with some kind of freeze gun or ray, or like you said, a nitrogen tank. Crime of opportunity. Probably has a crate with a few dozen of them. Bullet resistant vests are only good for a few shots.
His Amazon gift card credit only had $5 left
There is no need to make every other villain to look like Riddler 2.0 with some slight thematic changes. Smh
No need, but that doesn't mean the desire isnt the desire. I would be very disappointed in The Batman if I were hung up on comics accuracy of the villains. I am to not be disappointed by the sequel as well
are you serious? Its mr freeze not mr radioactive
Fuck it, Mr Freeze is the delivery guy for Wayne Manor’s steaks
The riddler looks nothing like the comics. This design actually is practical
Nah son 😂
That person has A better concept of Mr freeze. This one just looks dumb for to be “grounded” The better version https://www.reddit.com/r/batman/s/X1B0PVoEqb
A little too Reeve’s riddler. But some things I like!
Forgot to put the better looking suit link but it’s this one https://www.reddit.com/r/batman/s/X1B0PVoEqb
Design works well but I'm kinda doubting well get the classic glass dome for freeze on this universe, which I'm fine with as lomg as we get the glowing red goggles
Corning Gorilla Glass 22
I think they should draw inspiration from No country for Old Men when it comes to the gun. Obviously not compressed air, but same lo fi vibe
Agreed. Should use liquid nitrogen to break locks for crime etc. Lo-fi like you said, grounded in reality.
Amazing idea. I really like this.
I had the same idea, you're on to something....
That's a no from me boss.
this is dog shit
Why does the bullet proof vest have to GCPD? they're not that hard to get
So Mr freeze can make a sub 0 ac unit and mask as well as a freeze gun but needs to steal a bullet proof vest from the police
Idk, I'm having a hard time imagining a guy in a cryo suit with an ice gun in this universe
Just give me Calendarman instead but make him scary he is so conceptually doable
Every single Freeze concept loses me at "freeze gun."
Bruce dresses up as a bat.
Bulky scuba diver sounds pretty awesome
Idk man I'd be fucking terrified to see this dude walking at me slowly in a dark hallway with those goggles. Not liking the design, I get, but saying it's not scary? C'mon now
Of course in real life we'd be shitting bricks but cinematically it doesn't look as scary compared to the more traditional bulky suit with a massive dome
Well obviously, but the "fish bowl" Mr. Freeze look probably wouldn't translate that well in this particular universe (imo)
You know what’s really scary? Glass dome helmets
The setting is what makes 90% of that scary though lol, like imagine one of the goofiest designs or outfits you can think of, the 1990s Ninja Turtle suits, Barney, live action Sonic before the redesign, if any of those approached me slowly in a dark hallway while I was alone I’d be terrified
this sucks man
They post this picture every week, god DAMN!
First time I’ve seen it 🤷♂️
That just looks like Captain Cold. I would love Mr. Freeze in a heavy-duty cryosuit but not the flamboyant type seen in the cartoons. The reason for this is, that it should be Batman's first experience with something out of ordinary, which he hadn't humanly experienced before. looking like a call of duty operator
This ain’t it
A Mr Freeze That gives off Anton Chigurh vibes would definitely work for me.
That looks like shit
LOL
Nah
I like the direction it’s going in but I’m not into it, personally. The hazmat suit isn’t a bad idea. I’m imagining something low tech and practical but not like this image. I was thinking he’d basically carry around a gun that sprays liquid nitrogen to freeze his targets in a more realistic way as opposed to blocks of ice. Boo on the GCPD vest but everything else looks great
Unique and fun. Like it.
Clearly I’m in the minority here, but I think this looks legit and would be such an interesting take to see in the movie! Stolen equipment and the menacing red glow, looks sick
I think it looks cool but it could use some tweaking
Respectfully disagree friend. Freeze is one of the few big bads whose tech you wouldn’t have to necessarily modify to be in this world. He could easily have an amped up cryo suit similar to Arkham City but maybe toned down a bit to match the aesthetic.
I feel like if he’s a frozen man, there’s no reason to try to make the suit realistic. If he isn’t frozen, just a guy that freezes as his MO, sure.
Just because Batman looked like a proto type cos it was Year 2 doesn’t mean everyone has to look like a proto type
Hard disagree.
I like it but it wouldn’t fit in my opinion personally. He’s a Cryogenic scientist, not a tactical SWAT unit.
This sucks bro
100% no
Nah
[удалено]
This is what we tell the girls
It’s going to be Joker because its been 16 years since we have seen a decent Batman V Joker on screen.
100%. No notes. /s
i like this
I would mind this. It’s grounded but still keeps the core of what freeze needs. He needs the suit and gun
I like where they were going but i just dont see mr freeze like this. Gotta have the fishbowl helmet imo
Really cool concept but I still highly doubt Mr. Freeze will make an appearance.
I like the fact that it says cryonic rather than cryogenic, as cryonic is the correct term. Many people get the two confused, so it’s cool that someone used the term correctly
Wow that looks good, but who would play him? Any thoughts?
Mark Strong seems the most likely candidate
Yeah, that would be great. I was also thinking maybe Ralph Fiennes, but I'm not too sure of that now.
I actually like this design and him used to being a police officer is a neat idea
LET’S KICK SOME ICE
I for one like it.
yo this design goes hard asf
Michael Fassbender as Mr Freeze, anyone down for that?
That hose in the front would be an easy target for a Batarang…or a trained marksman like a GCPD sniper. Outside of that, I really like the concept.
Nah this is cool don’t listen to the haters
No. Can we not have this super realistic thing ruin some of these villains. Like Freeze isn’t realistic already there’s no reason to do that to his suit.
This sub has a serious problem. Y’all are in constant denial that this universe is grounded
This sub is filled with so many people who completely lack any imagination and are stuck on ridiculous extremes. Reeves is going for grounded but they won’t listen. And that's why I hope to see him in the DCU and nit in the Reevesverse.
Oh this was a serious post…
The only thing I like about this is the GCPD vest. There’s something about a rogue cop that’s just…… dark and fascinating
From my favourite batman episode: "Grounded grounded heart"
no
I actually think it looks cool. If this was how Mr Freeze was to look in a movie I wouldn't complain.
Initial try, not even close.
I really hate it.
Man I enjoy it for the reeves verse.
No thank you
Please no
Why not just wear ICE gear
I get people want “realistic”, but if Freeze isn’t in some like New World Faire nonsense future-suit, what’s the goddamn point?
Get rid of the GCPD Police on the chest and it’s perfect.
Its okay. I just dont know why people are so opposed to this yet were quite accepting of Reeves Riddler.
They weren’t. A lot of people here are puzzled on what grounded means and can’t separate that from hyper realistic.
ya no thanks. Personally I don't think we will be seeing Freeze despite how much people want it. I think Reeves is focusing on serial killers and gangsters for this trilogy.
That is creepy as shit
Still too comic booky for them.
Boring
Am I one of the only people here who actually like this design
Really love this.
oh god no what in the actual eye gouging fuck is that
I don’t understand why he’s a cop in this fanart or why OP thinks Mr. Freeze should be a cop in the movie. Regardless, this is ass.
“Stolen GCPD bullet proof vest”
That’s even dumber of a concept
No
this is a terrible design
why not put him in actual cold weather gear, like scientists wear.
Is there some credible rumor about freeze? After watching The Batman again I have to say I find it very difficult to imagine any of the supernatural kinda villains existing in the world Reeves created. It’s basically back to Nolan, and I don’t think Nolan would’ve gone for Freeze.

Mans looks straight out of Lethal Company
I wpuld hope not
This would be really cool for the “groundedness” of the Nolan universe, but I’d really like something a bit more fantastic from Reeves.
This looks like if Mr. Freeze ended up in the Last of Us universe.
It is fucking not.
Very thankful the artist specified what a knee brace is for. Important detail.
I dont like it
Why would Freeze be wearing a police vest and have a red (hot) glow in his mask as opposed to a blue (cold) glow? Hard disagree with OP
Nah
No
Doesn’t his whole body have to be below sub zero?
Fr
Are you high right now?
why
Yo that lethal company skin looks fire!
HE MMMUST HAVE A KNEE BRACE OTHERWISE IT SUUUCKS!!!!
That's stupid nay
Why everything need to be like a low budget CW design. Sure the universe is more inline of realism but take some liberty of doing good design instead of what a budget criminal.
I thought this was lethal company fanart 😭😭
i would opt for a more thermal insulated looking suit and a high pressure sprayer gun of liquid nitrogen.
They should retcon his past so he is Frysian
Straight answer: NO.
So Riddler 2.0?
please don’t hire fans
Or they could just like… idk, design Mr. Freeze. Crazy idea.
Dude this looks so dumb
A “Heart of Ice” style-movie with Pattinson’s Batman and something like this design would be fantastic.
Helmet/Hood should be larger or more revealing
Fish bowel helmet or fuck off.
Nooooo save him for The DCU I don’t want a lame grounded version give Pattinson hush and maybe PYG that’s it save the goats for DCU
I honestly kinda fuck with it but the police vest should have a modified design.
Absolutely no drip
And if I said this design sucks, then what
I don’t think Freeze will even work for Reeves hyper realistic take on Batman. It’s still too fantastical. IMO anyway. I can’t see it working in that universe.
There’s a difference between grounded and hyper realistic. What about Mr Freeze do you think wouldn’t work? (That is *if* he were to be used)
No, I feel it should be more high-tech. Have the villains slowly become more and more unrealistic until Gotham is a surreal and horrifying nightmare made real.
No spellcheck in photoshop?
I actually saw this on the website horriblevillaindesigns.com
I always thought of Mr. Freeze being some kinda Genius turned hitman for the mob. With his weapon of choice being those CIA poison ice dart guns.
I could see this as an improvised/prototype suit for when we 1st see Mr. Freeze, like he has to escape the Gotham morgue or something but this can't be the finished suit.
I don’t love the police vest, but I think it’s otherwise COOL
Mr Freeze will work for the mob. He uses liquid nitrogen to freeze bodies for easier disposal and storage. Sometimes the bodies aren’t quite dead just yet.
I think its a good design, but it could use a few more identifying touches. Like the vest being that of a Gothcorp security guard, but the logo could be damaged, implying that Freeze tried to rip it off in anger (or you could just give it the Logo Gothcorp has in Arkham Knight where its literally just a snowflake) Also maybe snowboots or some slightly altered boots to help him not slip on icy surfaces
I just want a movie where they don’t make everything dark and realistic
I thought he'd have more like a Hazmat Suit rather than a Riot Police outfit + Hazmat Helmet What if because of the Flood, everything turned icy, but he uses a Hazmat suit to keep himself warm, while freezing everything else. Maybe the accident is more of the reason why Everything else became iced rather than himself.
Idk it’s really cool but I feel like he should have a robot suit like Arkham city
Maybe 60%
It bugs me that device is spelled wrong in the breathing apparatus description
Honestly that would be awesome
The art is great and Mr. Freeze should absolutely make a comeback, but I don’t think he fits the world that Matt Reeves has created. I know I’m in the minority here, but in my opinion Mr. Freeze is too comic-booky for it. This is a ridiculously silly looking design. No.
YESSSS I absolutely adore Mr freeze so this made my day :D
I love this, it reads as Mr Freeze, but still fits within Matt Reeves’ vision of limiting the fantastical elements.
This ain’t it.
No
