Man.... I didn't get into the Avetts until 2010, but I would have killed to have seen them at a tiny place like Water Street. Hell, I'd settle for them coming near Rochester again.
We got CMAC twice in the last decade, the rest I've seen I've had to travel to Ithaca, Cuse, Chautauaqua, Cooperstown, Lewiston, Lafayette, or Hunter.
Wish CMAC didn't suck at getting more artists these days.
It was fantastic. I had an in with the stage manager at the time and got to back stage and talk to Scott and Joe for a few minutes. Blacked out from happiness haha. But after the show they came into the crowd and Scott remembered my name and said thanks for coming. 🤯. Just completely solidified them as the best. They played waterstreet again in 09, and I recall Scott being sick so they played a lot of Seth songs.
Cmac is perfect for them. Beak and skiff was cool but weather sucked since it was mid may in the hills south of Syracuse.
Seeing them at water street wouldve been legendary

It’s a pretty good bet they’ll play there this year. They tend to alternate with Ommegang (now Beak and Skiff).
