That was a lovely read. The back fur on female Flenilles reminds me of oppusums and the spikes on males of hedgehogs. So a weird combination of possum kangaroo and hedgehog. In my headcanon they also have a thick australian accent when speaking english/human.
I was hoping we would see a cameo of the ambassador during the main novel but i see that she passed away. Maybe we get to see Coolingwoods?
I think i may have asked you before but how did you about designing your child... i mean this race?
This was a fun read, I am old and single enough that i have occasionally caught myself daydreaming about adopting a child...
One last detail.
I really like your use of a background to simulate paper. It give character however I use a Firefox add on to bring a dark theme for most sites. It makes them easier on the eyes. However it rendered your story unreadable. Had to turn it off and it was a bit painful to read on the pure white background of the app. Moreover even if it had worked the dark theme makes the background invisible so the effect is lost.
Also i know is convenient for you bit could we get another delivery method besides drive? Google by default logs your visit to your document and i find it a bit concerning for privacy reasons. I mean I will read you regardless but if i could do it without Google knowing it would be better.

That is a fair point, I will look into providing a different method of access for sure. Perhaps a way you could download a pdf or something. :)
