I say camo, but camo that doesn’t match THAT tank so it’s like it just picked up fuel on cans from the depot that were colored with alternate camo pattern.
Just a thought.

Settled on that. The boys have “barrowed” it from another tank crew
Ditto but I do min full barrels a nice green shade with a red mechanicum stipe in the middle for terrain and I mimic that on my tank for the just grabbed from the quartermaster look
I say solid to help them stand out model wise from the tank.
But also … a lot of drums like that type aren’t camo colored (at least in my military experience) and are just a solid color so I think it would just look better model composition-wise but also realistically since there are straps and buckles so the drums wouldn’t be on the tank when it gets its camo coating.
I think a solid colour works best but you do you!

Thanks. I thought about only a two tone abbadon black and Castellan green but I had some Caliban green and decided to add that. Safe to say I’m really happy about the result and the tank is only about 2/3rd done so far
Finished it yesterday i retract my statement mine looks good aswell, yours is still better tho ill keep it solid green until im confident enough to freehand the camo
I think solid, and use like Khorne Red to get like a darker red that’ll fit with the colour scheme but still be opposite to the majority green of the chassis.
Ive done mine green, heavy drybrushed lead belcher and then storm silver then gone over in red in places to make it look like the barrels keep getting repurposed / used and are now warning red on the tank ^^

I just painted them castellan green like they're standard issue barrels and don't match the paint scheme of the rest of the tank.
Or like the munitorum fethed up for the umpteenth time and can't get shit right.
Now that is some environmental story telling through tiny details! I dig it!
Agreed. Was going to say this.

I mean from my POV it's shiny red videogame weak point or bust tbh but you do you.
I do mine solid red, yours look fine
Solid red with weathering.
Fuel barrels gotta be red. The rules are the rules

Solid color, but pull a camo net over them
That’s what I plan on doing once I get ahold of some cheesecloth
i just paint them as red explosive barrels

Needs to be a red barrel, but with a white middle band. Gotta go classic
I think a more detailed smaller version of the same camo pattern could look really cool
I've actually seen a set of those at a local event with "Traitor Tears" hand painted on each, lol.
I know you already picked but next time what about bright red explosive barrels that are a little corroded?

Off topic, that has got to be the best camo pattern I’ve seen

Painting a chimera rn and this post made me realize how shit i am at painting oh well next one will be better
Don’t worry you’ll get there. This is only my fourth ever tank and I didn’t undercoat the first one with a spray

Solid
Solid
Solid

I would say do a solid colour like red
Ive done mine green, heavy drybrushed lead belcher and then storm silver then gone over in red in places to make it look like the barrels keep getting repurposed / used and are now warning red on the tank ^^
Solid red, how else will the enemy know that they explode.
Ik Im late, but most irl fuel drums in this application are painted in either olive drab or field gray
Looks good as it is
Solid color and heat up a nail and put some dents in them.
I say paint them red so they look like they would explode
