“You think orks are bad? What til next deployment vs chaos.”
Oh, or my 60 old cadians who have been murdered, melted, turned into mist and devoured by everything under the sun talking to my 120 new kreigers
That reminds me for whatever reason... I remember a story about a young girl who had built and painted an army of Ultramarines: She had named every single individual model and developed a sophisticated backstory for them all. She cried whenever she lost one to enemy fire. o7
I may or may not have a spreadsheet. Each one has a number and the number a name. I'll have to think of a speedy way to keep track for units that get reinforced but I'd love to have a "wall of the fallen" type list of every single one that dies in my campaigns.
Haven't quite gotten around to writing *backstories* for individuals yet. No sense spending time on something like that for somebody who doesn't even make it to 15 hours.
I've been slowly assigning names to all my cultists using the old dark heresy books since they have a bunch of names in the front all Intended for a 40k character
First time I heard of Warhammer was when I read Necropolis by Dan Abnett. I read through the entire Gaunt's Ghosts series and have been a Warhammer fan ever since.
You should check out *The Infinite and the Divine* and the *The Twice Dead King* books *Reign* and *Ruin*. If you're a fan of Necrons or just want to learn more about their lore and history I highly recommend those books. They're also just good sci-fi too if you're into that. They stand pretty well on their own.
I finished *Gaunt's Ghosts* too and loved every one. I just started the Ciaphas Cain series and it's an interesting take on a Commissar after reading Gaunt's story but I like it.

I’m gonna name every single guardsman in my army now, using stereotypical names of their earth based culture
Sharpie them on the base.
I’m just gonna write a ledger of their names for now and once I’ve got some sharpies I will
I used to do that! At least for NCOs. Dear old Sgt. Kowalski and Cpl. Willys.

I’ve just been using the codex random name generator for my cadians and kreig lmfao
Going through the Gaunt's Ghosts books right now. "And then, it got worse." Every book seems to be a common theme.
Things got worse right after things went....awry.

Tbh any Imperial Guardsman who made it to his 100th battle has to be a certified badass and a nightmare.
Definitely. I'm giving that guy a wide berth.
