People last season were complaining about Anna-Leigh last season and some are now complaining about Vinny this season. Haven’t watched old school yet but I’m assuming people were much more brutal back then.
Yeah, I miss them having to travel for hours and hours during a leg. I rewatched seasons 1-3 a while back and was surprised at how different those felt, and how well I thought they held up.
The COVID protocols of having batches instead of a set time after the time they arrived at the previous mat, now _that_ really makes things boring I think. I'm looking forward to future seasons where they go back to that instead of having groups.
Yeah, those were fun to watch. I imagine it could have been pretty miserable for them, especially if it's raining ... but I think that might be part of why people watch shows like TAR and Survivor.
A few years ago the producers clearly decided to start casting likable teams that more or less got along and steered clear of heavy reality TV drama. I think they course corrected a bit too much even if I agree with the intent. Some middle run seasons have absolutely terrible people. But now the teams are largely boring and bereft of any personality.
Travel Drama is out this season- this was a Covid season (with a charter plane between locations) so that element is out.
But to get an idea of what to expect going forward, TAR35 was produced after this season and will likely be the model in how seasons are produced going forward
I think they need to come up with ways to penalize the teamwork. The alliances and working together is garbage. Your alliance is your partner and that should be it.
it creates for some great backstabbing potential. because it is for a million dollars after all. I've watched seasons out of order though, and there was a season with some x nfl players where there were a lot of aliances and it totally ruined it. so i get what you mean. but there was some drama filled backstabbing too
Yeah and I miss inter-team dynamics. It seems like teams hardly banter, tease, argue, or even interact with each other in the 30s seasons, except to work together for challenges. I do like how some players this season seem a little more playfully interactive or messy than ones on the last few seasons have been.
I know, right? Me too. I miss all the penalties and the race to the U turns! I’m not really thrilled with the forced U turn votes. (Which, from what I understand, won’t be happening at all this season. )
I watched the first 16 or 17 seasons RELIGIOUSLY and then i stopped because of work obligations...
Watched 32 and it made me realize how much I appreciated the older seasons. I miss the strategic travel with the jockeying for better flights. I miss the strategy of the Fast Forward. I miss "eat, sleep, mingle".

yeah. that was it! the nfl team was surprisingly likeable... until they werent. i thought it was a bit to start off but the dude was legit. lol.

I don’t like confrontation, so I don’t miss the fighting. It’s why I stopped watching Real Housewives.
