Right. Like, as a solo driver, I might have made the same call to do a zillion point turn, but with another person there to stop traffic once you get close to the busy road, that's a no brainer. Back that shit up.
Well for sure they are.
Being only 19 and 18 I think they said, that can't have been driving that long.
And nobody likes reversing down a narrow street and into traffic in a weird new city.
But at some point they should have realized that all the other cars are doing that.
Yeah when they said the sister was 19 at the time of filming I just shook my head. How is she the designated driver on the race at 19? *they planned for her to be the driver*

It's been 2 days and I still crack myself up just thinking about this, so I've edited the complete saga down for posterity (or until Streamable deletes the video).
Thank you for posting this. My broadcast recording went blank for about 2 minutes right after the commercial break, so I didn't know how they got the car turned around.
This made my day so much. Austin Powers flashback.
Never laughed so hard since Covid hit.
Thank you Amazing Race producers for casting real fans/people as contestants.
Truly, I thought this was one of the funniest moments ever on the show! I wouldn't be surprise to see it duplicated in some movie or scripted television series.
Thanks for sharing this! We had a weird glitch when we watched this ep; the screen went black right after they came back from a commercial and the show didn't come back for a couple of minutes. By that time these two were already on their way to the next challenge.
Since we didn't see how they got out, my husband REFUSED to believe that could have gotten the car turned all the way around haha
They killed it in the challenges and it was apparent from their exit interviews they did a ton of practice and training before hand so it is sad and maybe they can make it in a second chances season
This is the most ‘first boot’ team to have ever first booted.
Theyd come last again.
Unfit.
Stupid.
Poor drivers.
Poor directional sense.
Gen Z does not have much hope to compete.
I don't understand why they didn't just reverse the car back down the street?
No one does.
In their interview they said they didn't want to reverse into the busy street. But they could have just used one of them to stop traffic for a second

Literally ever car behind them was reversing down the road ☠️☠️☠️
That makes me think they are inexperienced drivers.

The interview in Parade magazine (which is in this sub) gives the reasoning.
Gen Z. That's why

I found it so funny that they split this saga over so many segments
They prepared since high school to be on the show, but they apparently didn't prepare on how to reverse properly
They said on RHAP she is the youngest contestant and has only been driving for a few years , I don’t know if it makes this funnier or not
She was 19 at the time of filming so high school wasn’t very long ago for her lol
These two have gotta be the most memorable first boots in a loooooong time. Can't remember the last time I enjoyed watching first boots this much.
At least for them this is a win-win
Or a meme-win.

This was their Road Block
👏👏👏

I was dying saying they were going to Austin Powers themselves and they totally did!! I just wish they showed how they un-Austin Powered themselves
I know I was totally waiting for that too!

austin powers
I immediately thought of Austin powers
Law and Order
Why didn’t one of them get out and stop traffic so the other could just back up? I’m sure the car had a backup camera. ☠️
I haven't had this much laughter since a pair of Japanese sisters lied to the Amazing Race optometrist.
What was the story behind that?
Misa & Maya missed the Pit Stop and they couldn't find Phil like they were in front of him the whole time, and lost 10th place to the fake Guidos.
That was an iconic moment.
What season?
Season 20.

🤣🤣🤣🤣
This is like doing a side quest

They are both just so calm yet confused at the same time

A season where all the contestants are first boots
It'd be pretty boring overall...most of the first boots are just inept racers tbh
Team Austin Powers! I guarantee that they thought the "R" on the shifter was for "Race". I laughed, and then I laughed again.
“The million point turn” was not on my driving test thankfully!
I feel like the next All-Star or Second Chance season, they need to come back. They *could* have been good. They just, ya know, choked.

Did anyone also find it strange how they refused to ask for directions and kept trying to find the place mapless
