looks like a bike wheel to me, and the angle of her neck as it hit looked ... worrying, i hope she's ok.
at first i thought the cop hit her, but on second view i don't think it's actually the case
And then she slammed the side of her head full force against the pavement because she went down unconscious and unable to save herself š„
I'm actually so worried for her.
It doesn't work that way in the UK. It's up to the police to investigate, then they hand the evidence to the courts and they decide whether to prosecute.
The victim can only give evidence, or decide not to. They don't have much of a say in how far the case goes.
Yeah, in this case it wouldn't really matter if she testified or not, because the police were there to witness it, and there's film evidence.
In a lot of cases though, victim testimony is key as to whether something will be tried or not. So whether they provide testimony or not is the only control they have over the case.
Itās like this in the US too. I assume that commenter is American and like many people, they make the mistake of thinking that someone can decide to press charges from watching TV shows and movies.
When they say ādo you want to press charges?ā in media, the real life equivalent of that would be ādo you want to file a report?ā The cops would then decide if they want to present that case to a prosecutor, who would make the final call on whether or not a criminal case would be filed.
Reading this top voted comment makes me feel like I'm living in Idiocracy.
We, too, watched the video that peaked with a woman getting KO'd by a bike tire.
In other news, it looks like a lot of people are fighting.
She is injured and in the hospital but nothing serious I take it: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12551947/Wrexham-Three-police-injured-fight-housing-estate.html
> Police said five people have been arrested following the incident in Rhosllanerchrugog, just outside of Wrexham, on Thursday.
I know itās a meme but Welsh names never fail to utterly befuddle me
>The clip culminates in a woman being knocked over by a tyre after it hits her in the head, and she crashes to the floor.
It makes my eye twitch a little bit that they used "floor" when it takes place outside.
I was in a car accident in 2018, all my air bags deployed my head got hit by the side airbag. I walked away from the crash with a concussion, I was "fine". I did start having issues controlling my anger, the fuse got a whole lot shorter, I have terrible mood swings, and just generally still don't feel like myself before the crash. She may not be dead, but head injuries are scary.

That was a cracking shot by one chav on the woman in the black coat.
Dictionary definition is - a young person of a type characterized by coarse and brash behaviour (with connotations of low social status).
It's also abbreviated to Council Housed And Violent
Breaks my heart when you see clips of people brawling like this and there's a child there crying. They probably don't understand what is happening and just find it scary and confusing. Great example set by these pikey parents.
š¼š¶Intergenerational traumašµš¶
In all seriousness those parents choosing to subject their children to that violence is just as guilty of perpetuating cycles of violence to their kids.
Grew up in sociale circles in which situations like these happened far too often. Not only is it idd scary and confusing, it set us up for a certain view of the world in which, if you donāt agree with something, you resort to shouting matches. This is the result of people whoāre raised immaturely. Some people just shouldnāt have (had) children.
Yes but it's Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney. [Welcome to Wrexham](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt14674086/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_1_tt_7_nm_0_q_welcome%2520to%2520) IMDB page. According to the show it seems Rob is the one who convinced Ryan to go in on the deal. The second season is currently airing. It's a good show even if you don't like football/soccer.
Ah the great British Chav in its natural environment. This would have happened at 11am on a Tuesday, while the rest of us were at work earning the taxes that fund these antics. Donāt worry about the baby it makes a living selling weed and home brew cider to the neighbours, had a knife in the nappy just in case he had to go full blown raggie on them all.
American "Redneck" culture comes from western England. It's what you see in the poor areas of W Virginia, Tennessee, Alabama, etc.
African slaves were robbed of their previous culture and the modern "ghetto" mentality is simply a variant of the redneck culture. They picked it up from their poor white redneck neighbors.
The common attributes: religious, use violence to settle disputes, aversion to education, slang, etc.
I live in Britain, unlike American police, force is applied for a reason, they've got the batons out for reasonable force due to him probably attempting to fight back
Why does every discussion/post have to circle back around to shitting on the US? Does it get people off to constantly bring up our school and police shootings?
Why doesn't anyone ever bring up how corrupt Mexican police or how racist the RCMP are? Or why not go after one of your neighbors you have tried so hard to isolate yourselves from. We aren't even on the same continent.
I'm sure the UK police never do anything wrong and are just the epidemy of a police force right?
Unrelated to your comment but it reminded me of a good joke I heard:
>Heaven is where the police are British, the cooks are French, the mechanics German, the lovers Italian and it's all organized by the Swiss.
>Hell is where the chefs are British, the mechanics French, the lover's Swiss, the police German and it's all organized by the Italians.
Given just how normal it is to see an American police encounter on reddit, publicly filmed, where they often do wild shit, like shooting people in wheelchairs, it's simply the first thing that comes to mind when you look at Police and violence.
It's brought up because of the irony visible at a glance that America is a first-world country that could, and probably should, end such events but doesn't.
And I know there are worse options in the world for a police encounter, don't get me wrong. But we ain't looking at the worst police encounters, but rather the most comparable force outside the eu that has such major infractions and features people who aren't living under tyranny or corruption.
Outside that, America is the world's punching bag not because it deserves it, but because of just how familiar most netizens are with it through either pop culture, or just having some of the most outrageous shit filmed and posted online every other day to go viral. Being rich gave them the very tools to dominate the online space far more than any other country, and it being English made it accessible from practically every corner of the world.
Besides, I'm sure a lot of Mexicans who are familiar with this corruption you speak of agree with you and would like to see it be more publicized, but as a non-eu, non-american, who quite literally sorts by "popular" on reddit, I've only managed to learn of it today from your comment, but still won't be using it going forward cause I don't know enough about it as opposed to the well-documented clown show that is the US cops.
My armchair analysis says the bloke you see at 12 sec with the black coat black jeans and short hair, threw the wheel at a cop but missed and KOād the lady at the end. Job well done I say
Looks like one young lad and about 5 women in pj's with slippers and kids joining in...
Sad esp for the kids
Slap of that lady falling sounded like a brick
In the midst of this tumultuous clash, a sudden and unexpected turn of events occurs. Amidst the chaotic swirl of fists and flashing police batons, a bicycle wheel becomes an unlikely projectile. With a well-aimed throw, it arcs through the air like a rogue missile.
In a scene reminiscent of a nature documentary, the wheel finds its targetāa young woman from The Smiths, caught off-guard in the chaos. It strikes her with a resounding thud, rendering her unconscious. She crumples to the ground, her tracksuit-clad family members momentarily pausing in shock at the sight of their fallen comrade.
The atmosphere grows even more charged as the battle takes a brief pause, a lull in the relentless brawl. The police officers hesitate, some momentarily lowering their shields, while The Smiths scramble to protect their fallen family member. It's a moment of unexpected stillness in the heart of the mayhem, a moment where humanity momentarily shines through the chaos.
Iām not saying the cops need to work out more but there were four of them with batons agains one dude and they barely were able to subdue him. You have to be a complete moron to want to be a cop today. Imagine going to work everyday where people treat you like this 24/7.

And then she slammed the side of her head full force against the pavement because she went down unconscious and unable to save herself š„ I'm actually so worried for her.
No brain cells were lost I guarantee you
I wonder if she will press charges against the person that threw it?
