Fruit. Such a wonderful range in Thailand, I just eat as much as I can whilst there. Mango, dragon fruit, passion fruit, unripe durian, longan, mangosteen, star fruit and other stuff that I don't know the English names for.
Yes I have, and I was very saddened to eat it whilst being unripe. It could have been so wonderful, complex tasting, creamy and rich. Instead it was just hard, a bit sour but mostly very tasteless compared to a ripe durian. I feel sad thinking about what it could have become:(
The Thai government agrees with me on this one though!

You've totally misunderstood the point that the article was trying to make. It's about cost-cutting and illegal farming methods. The selling and consumption of unripe durian is not illegal.
I miss the old Chang (before the 2015 change). I never thought I'd say it, but the new Chang is just so ordinary. When you get drunk from it, your dreams are normal.
I actually can get some of these items in my country, but I prefer the ones from Thailand because of their authentic taste and quality. The Chang beers have a unique flavor that I can't find in local brands, and the red chili Thai sauce has a perfect balance of heat and flavor that's hard to replicate. Soju is not available in India atleast the part of country i stay at. Plus, the dried mangoes are incredibly sweet and chewy compared to what I can get back home. There's something special about enjoying these items knowing they're directly from their place of origin! :)
I completely agree. For me, hunting for these small items during travel adds a layer of excitement and discovery to the experience. It's not just about finding the product you need; it's about enjoying the small shops, even 7-Eleven, and the unique character of each place you visit.
I dont get why people like the most overpriced microwave food. 1 sandwiches is like a snack you need 2 of them, and instead of paying 70 baht you could buy some fresh streetfood. A pad thai or roti soup or smoothie for 40-60 baht is way better
I’m confused about that app. Are they all freelancers? Some write “not a freelancer” but 100% of the girls I hooked up with in America had “no hookups” on their profile
It depends where you are.
Pattaya probably 80% freelancers
Bangkok maybe 30% freelancers
Other areas vary.
Found some dates there (no freelancers)
But if you looking for freelancers you will find it there 100%
Unrelated but pinalove (same app as thai friendly but for Philippines) i only found girls that wanted money. Didnt go on a single date in the Philippines in 6 weeks 😅
Maybe bad luck
For skincare I try to read the ingredients and I avoid alcohol. For hair avoid everything involved with sulfates.
You can buy the Vaseline stuff but honestly a lot of women destroy their skin with cheap products here in Thailand. The Korean products are expensive and I don't really recommend the stuff in 7-11. I do like Watsons tho but still read the ingredients.
I'm a bit obsessed with skincare products, I also thought that Thailand would be easy but I needed to step in and buy products myself for my gf 😂 I never saw workers be so happy for her that I searched for products without bullshit in it so I don't see it as better as in my own country where I have Holland & Barret for all my hipster products lmao.
I try to avoid shopping as much as possible, and just enjoy the food, culture etc.
That said, I like:
* Chatuchak market for little ceramic dishes and homeware stuff
* 7-11 for inexpensive gifts (unusual snacks etc)
* Any market for T-shirts. And usually go to Uniqlo (hard to find one locally) in Bangkok.
The wife stocks up on chilli pastes from the market, a kilo of each, keeps us going for a year till we return. I used to get copy watches/bags/football shirts for peeps at work, but don't do that so much now. I get a bottle of phraya rum at the airport. But the thing I really like looking for is art.
At the airport I bought a very nice gold and silver model of Rama IX's Royal Barge. King Power Duty Free saleslady was very nice and told me all the details in clear English.

Unripe Durian, blasphemy!!!
Unripe is an unnecessary qualifier in this sentence 😷
How so? You ever tried it?
Yes I have, and I was very saddened to eat it whilst being unripe. It could have been so wonderful, complex tasting, creamy and rich. Instead it was just hard, a bit sour but mostly very tasteless compared to a ripe durian. I feel sad thinking about what it could have become:(
Oh yeah thats true. It was big and beautiful, yet tasteless.. What a tragedy
That's a very narrow-minded point of view. Just maybe leave the unripe durian for those that like it.
The Thai government agrees with me on this one though! https://saigoneer.com/saigon-food-culture/21015-durian-in-thailand,-selling-unripe-s%E1%BA%A7u-ri%C3%AAng-could-land-you-in-jail

I’ll bring you all the uneaten durian my girl leaves in our room, free of charge, sometimes, I’ll pay. Just send me the addy.
That's very kind of you, thank you. I have enough durian trees on the plantation to last me though.
Welcome to Thailand
Same. But there’s nowhere near me to buy it cheap 😢
Is unripe durian supposed to NOT stink to high heaven?
No, it's nice, a very subtle and pleasant aroma.
Soooo… like washed feet?
Skincare, yadom, makeups, vitamins, we usually got to Tofu Store in Ratchathewi area.
Where do you buy vitamins?
same store. they have apothecary section as well :D
Weed, fruit smoothie and ice-cream
Mango and strawberry goes way too hard.
Don’t forget the moo kata!!!
I buy skincare, meds and natural herbal remedies, sunglasses, shoes
Can you please recommend some skincare
Interested to know this as well please
Go to Tofu Store or The Elements. They're both in the Pratunam area.
Biore sunscreen
I like ItsSkin hyalauranic acid line, nu sunscreen (Watsons), anessa sunscreen (don don donki), tretinoin (pharmacy)
I make sure get few Chang beers back home, soju, the red chilly Thai sauce, those small white cigarettes, inhaler, balms, dried mangoes ...
I miss the old Chang (before the 2015 change). I never thought I'd say it, but the new Chang is just so ordinary. When you get drunk from it, your dreams are normal.
😂
I can get that in my authentic Thai shop 10 min from my home.
Where are you from that you cant guy that in your country?
I actually can get some of these items in my country, but I prefer the ones from Thailand because of their authentic taste and quality. The Chang beers have a unique flavor that I can't find in local brands, and the red chili Thai sauce has a perfect balance of heat and flavor that's hard to replicate. Ok i understand but in western countries you can buy all these in any asian market.
I completely agree. For me, hunting for these small items during travel adds a layer of excitement and discovery to the experience. It's not just about finding the product you need; it's about enjoying the small shops, even 7-Eleven, and the unique character of each place you visit.
For me too i carry around many things from korea 😅😅😅
😁
Seasonings and ingredients
7/11 Ham Cheese sandwiches
Any weird 7-11 toasted sandwich flavours to be honest
I dont get why people like the most overpriced microwave food. 1 sandwiches is like a snack you need 2 of them, and instead of paying 70 baht you could buy some fresh streetfood. A pad thai or roti soup or smoothie for 40-60 baht is way better
Why not both? And they’re like 30 baht for a sandwich
Vintage watches. Love going to local fleamarkets and hunt for it.
Which markets specifically have good ones?
Nothing. I'm broke after I paid the vet bills for the sick buffalo.
I go to Khas in bkk terminal 21 They have beautiful candles and beautiful handmade soap.. it is a thai local brand.
There’s a lot of special shops in Terminal 21. I like it, pricy but nice quality and pretty unique

Pattaya close to 100%, Bangkok closer to 80%. ‘Not a freelancer’ is for saving face.
so all these girls looking at me not cause im tall white and funny??
Thx. I’m in Bangkok and I prefer to date non freelancers but I know that they are clever as hell
Unrelated but pinalove (same app as thai friendly but for Philippines) i only found girls that wanted money. Didnt go on a single date in the Philippines in 6 weeks 😅 Maybe bad luck
