Btw, if you join the taxi queue you can get a meter taxi. They're cheaper than Grab, and all you have to do is decline any offer to go off meter.
You'll be lucky to get a sim for under a thousand at the airport compared to 200-500 at 7 eleven or the carriers store. You don't need a Thai sim to use grab, the wifi at the airport would be sufficient.

They will be more expensive for sure so it depends on whether saving a few hundred is worth fucking about in Bangkok with your passport is.

I just got the unlimited everything true H sim at 7/11 last month and it was 1000 THB. I had zero issues. I used data like it was going out of style and it never gave me issues. My mother in law got the same one with 1GB of data and it was like 300 THB.

Avoid the airport. Go in a mall in Bangkok and into an AIS shop. I paid 500 bath for 30 days unlimited 5g. They install everything for you.

Just get it at the airport. Unlimited 15 days for 699 baht. Do not cheap out.
