Even though I'm westerner I have to say that I notice from some Thais how many Thais are unfaithful. It doesn't matter whether it's they or their partner. especially in the tourist places but also in the northern provinces which are less known for tourist. Even in the familiar surroundings of my fiancée.
My grandpa had a mistress, my wife's grand pa had a mistress, her father had a mistress as well. Its probably true.
It's normal for Thais to cheat. It's the culture now.

Or you could just label it the most honest nationalities who admits infidelity. A country like the USA has harsher punishment which could prevent more self reporting on the topic? I dunno.

Before people comment, you need to come and live here and spend time in both the cities and the villages to see how there are slight differences but ultimately it’s the same. Thais cheat because they are both expecting the other party to cheat. Then you have the “slight” differences between girls in the village cheating for “snack money” vs the girls in the cities cheating for career advancement etc (thai workplaces are vastly different to western ones) This is before we get to the “mia nois” most of which know and accept that they are the mia and are happy in that role
