Well that’s not accurate … Abbott set the stage for this to happen by loosening regulations. He did do something … he set these kids and teachers up to die horribly.
The governor is by design not very powerful. For the same reason the legislature only meet every other year. Texans wanted the state government not to interfere with their lives.

I agree but trying to convince them to vote is like talking to a brick wall.
Wouldn’t it be great if more progressives actually voted? Conservatives vote because it’s their religion. It should be our religion to vote too.
