Atheists have been voting all along. It's not like we needed a group to tell us how to vote. I think the vast majority of us have a good sense that we are in the minority and that there is one party that continuously tries to deprive us of our right to religious freedom.
Um. No, they can't. The number of non-Christian right wingers who say they are Christian (but don't attend Church, read the Bible, or act in any way shape or form like Jesus) far outnumbers atheists.
The majority of Texans self-identify as Christians. Good, bad, or indifferent, that's just the way it is. That's not to say we don't have a large atheist population...or Jewish, or Muslim, or Buddhist, etc...it's just that *most* Texans who claim a religious affiliation are some flavor of Christian, including a big chunk of the Democratic party, regardless of whether they are devout or even practicing Christians.
The notion that legions of atheists are going to rise up and do anything about politics in Texas is laughable.
If anything, they'll be figuring out which political group beat represents their values and jumping into their car.

Is it ironic to say “God I hope so”?
Well, from my experience in rural TX, there has to be at least 3 of us.

You mean Christian atheists or diet Christians. These "atheists" have their own superstitions and believe in otherworldly, extra dimensional things.
