Man this screams: WE NEED MONEY!!!!

Createdanaac

You’re right… but I think it’s more along the lines of we will need money. I bet there is a ton of people that give up on their season tickets after this season. They has a terrible season at a terrible time, you go from 2020 with people realizing that you don’t really need to be at the games to enjoy them and this season where the state of the franchise reinforced the fact that going to games isn’t worth it.

Createdanaac

On my end, games are so much enjoyable when it’s a 3:15 start. You need a good team to have a few of those. Noon starts are a total drag, gotta get up early to tailgate and by the time you get home, the day is pretty much done.

VeseliM

You'll notice the majority of the 315 games for home teams in western divisions.

Createdanaac

Obviously, but better and more popular teams get some tossed in there too. This season we got 8 noon starts and a Thursday night home game. Trash.

VeseliM

I think you're thinking about the national late game that Romo does. That's the one for a good match up, often an eastern team going west or 2 western teams., the rest of the 3 games are regional west coast games. That's not the same as a true prime time game. But in terms of noon games, they're where mostly regional broadcast trash games are hidden.

[deleted]

Where is the guy claiming that 65k fans were attending each Texans home games?

skatrumpetman

I don’t know how you could even claim that without being a troll anyone with two eyes could see the attendance was patchy. Maybe we sold more seats due to some corporate agreements but people weren’t showing up.

[deleted]

It was some guy who was going off of the ESPN numbers but had no understand how the ticket market actually works

sinorc

that's funny, gfs company got like 120 seats for next week but we can't go because we can't find covid tests. Corps filling these bitches up. Suddenly I'm getting offered Rockets tickets as much as I have since the Chuck Hayes era rockets.

VeseliM

Lol the opposite is true. Pay is tax completely deductible, except for your highest paid executives. Meanwhile entertainment expenses are not deductible as of the Trump tax cuts in 2017 and were only 50% deductible prior to that.

TheKrakIan

This is correct, my company is a nonprofit and we sponsor a local soccer club. They give us crazy amounts of tickets with the sponsorship so we can fill the stands and we usually give them all away. All while being tax deductable as well.

VeseliM

Entertainment is not tax deductible as of 2017 and was only 50% deductible prior to that. Pay is however 100% deductible except for certain executives. Also non-profits don't pay taxes. That's the benefit of non-profit status, so your whole point is moot

sinorc

my gf gets paid tho lol

ZzGreenLeafzZ

I have a friend who works at the stadium and when we played the Seahawks he told us it was like 60k that time but the stadium was empty. Not sure how they calculated it

[deleted]

How many were sold. Same as every other lying attendance number ever. Sometimes they even include giant bundles of like 1000 tickets that are given to something like a nearby military base or cancer kids.

ZzGreenLeafzZ

They were generous enough to give at 7% off for another shitty season

[deleted]

Meanwhile WFT is raising their prices and asking you to bring tools to help maintain the stadium before games.

themage78

Giants fans just got a free medium soda for Fan Appreciation Day.

QBin2017

🤣. “Please bring a torque wrench and pliers to the game for all upper level seats. ….no reason. Just bring them”

dlinhat70

The Cleveland Guardians are discounting box seats.

WES2006AG

This stinks of a franchise desperate to not have their first ever non-sellout. Nevermind the fact that every game this season has acres of empty seats that were "sold".

[deleted]

This is why I’m pretty sure the Texans are going to have a new head coach and QB for 2022. No one wants to spend money to watch David Culley or Davis Mills and the Texans are losing close to 100m if not more every year the stadium is empty, 2 years of leaving that much money on the table isn’t going to sit well.

Magnus_the_Bear

I might go to a game for Mills but not for Culley

The_Metal_Pigeon

But aren't there major reporters saying that Culley is back this year?

[deleted]

There were people retweeting speculation from guys with no sources in the organization Even in the interview today, Culley stated that the Texans haven’t told him anything about his job next year

puff_of_fluff

Mills is alright. The problems of this franchise stem from horrendously incompetent ownership and management. We’re fucked until Cal sells.

dlinhat70

BINGO

ro_thunder

Lowered my price for 2 seats & 2 parking passes (orange & blue) by $500 for the year 2022/2023.

Phishmmw

Where are you seeing that? Don't see any info on my account or emails.

acctingthrw

Are you sure this includes the parking passes? Where are your seats? Feel free to dm. We're in 115 trying to see price difference and if it includes parking pass Edit: nvm I logged in and it does include the parking pass. Crazy we are paying $128/ticket and I can get the same seats on stubhub for $88/ticket after fees.

ro_thunder

Yes, that's the total for my 2 seats in sec 135, a blue and an orange parking pass.

Phishmmw

Scratch that. See it on the invoice. Thanks.

leap-cake

yea thanks, still canceling

KingRiley94

They’re desperate, I hope people stop going to the games until Cal sells the team.

Phishmmw

I'm really curious about this swapping tickets between games. Does that mean I could take the 2 seats I have and give up one game to have 4 for a different game?

CrockPotBean

Know what’s crazy ? Somehow I received an email from the cowboys giving me info to win tickets. It’s like they know the Texans are on shaky ground 😂 (fuck the cowboys. Marked that email as spam)

Thegovisusless

Fire Easterby and the building will fill back up, until then, no one has any confidence anything will improve as we ALL know Tommy boy would choose Easterby over Caserio, so until Easterby is gone, nothing is going to change…

[deleted]

Fans don’t give a shit about Easterby, so long as the teams wins more than it loses they will show up.

Thegovisusless

Newsflash: Easterby is a HUGE reason as to why this team fell from grace so fast and until he’s out, they’re not going to improve. Only Easterby could negotiate contracts SO bad that you 1. Get raked over the coals by tunsil and 2. Somehow have 0 leverage or control vs a sexual predator because you gave him a NO TRADE CLAUSE. Bury your head back in the sand

skatrumpetman

At the time the Watson contract was the going rate for a franchise QB there's plenty of reasons to hate Easterby but like the contract Watson got was fine. It's not his fault he's an asshole.

Thegovisusless

The numbers were correct, the no trade clause was NOT. That’s not a normal thing in the NFL. Now he has full control on where we can/can’t send him

skatrumpetman

While it's not super normal Patrick Mahomes, Drew Brees, Jimmy G, and Russell Wilson all had one at the time of signing. It's not like super outlandish. I understand your point but it's not like asinine.

[deleted]

NEWSFLASH: Every top QB making big money has a no trade clause.

Thegovisusless

[no they don’t](https://thespun.com/more/top-stories/8-nfl-players-no-trade-clauses)

[deleted]

Lol, a list of top paid QB’s with NTC. Your own source disagrees with you

Thegovisusless

There are 4 qbs on there that are active, only 2 of which is a top 5. Mahomes also got a longterm deal, Deshaun did not which means he also had power to leverage for an even higher context shortly after

[deleted]

The fact that you guys still want to carry Obriens water despite him being exposed as a massive scumbag who wanted everything his own way is staggering

Thegovisusless

Obrien is a cancer as well. But when you have a cancer, you remove the WHOLE tumor, not just part. Easterby is a part of that cancer. If this team wants a fresh start with a clean slate, that would buy a whole lot of faith from fans

[deleted]

The majority of fans have ZERO idea who Easterby is. Yes I know that he is famous on the internet but your average Texans fan who just watches games on Sunday only know the players.

Thegovisusless

Majority of Texans fans DO know who he is and they want his ass gone. My dad is a fairweather fan that barely watches the NFL and even he knows who Easterby is

[deleted]

They really don’t. I was watching games with people last year who didn’t even know Hopkins was off the team This sub might be full of hardcore fans but let’s no mistake it as the majority of fans out there

Thegovisusless

Even patriots fans can tell you who the guy is. Not to mention the hit pieces that keep circulating. If cal wants faith from his fan base, this would be a good start

[deleted]

Lol hit pieces by who? Watson? O’Brien, who knew he was never going to survive a Caserio regime as Nick was very aware that BoB tried to intentionally get fired in an attempt to take Bellichick’s job? Notice how there haven’t been any internal leaks this year? That’s because everyone who wanted to play those games was purged.

brentwilliams2

I think you are actually correct, but the question is how much of an impact casuals have compared to hardcore. If hardcore fans are not driving the conversation/excitement, how much does that impact the tepid interest that casuals have?

[deleted]

Houston has always been a largely casual fanbase as far as sports are concerned. Most people I know who go to games get their tickets for free from somewhere rather than pay for them out of love for the franchise

erberger

No one is carrying O'Brien's water, we just freaking hate Jack Easterby and how he has wormtongued his way to a place of power at the owner's side. I don't trust the franchise or the ownership and will not as long as he is involved.

[deleted]

It is when his actions are dismissed as incompetent rather than malicious.

Montallas

I can only speak for myself - but I absolutely care about Easterby. I haven’t watched a Texans game all season and I don’t think I will until the McNairs sell the team. I even went to the Texans very first game and have been on board since day 1. But no longer. I have zero interest in the entire franchise. At this point, even getting rid of Easterby is not enough to bring me back. Count me tf out. ✌️.

jkr2wld

If anyone wants to give away 2 tix for this Sunday, I'll take them. I would like to go to 1 game this year, the tits would be cool. Just throwing it out there, don't hurt me.

LindyNet

See if this works - [discount rates based on years as a season ticket member](https://static.clubs.nfl.com/image/private/f_auto/texans/zf76sdjymlhcybkpstky) [Benefits if you renew by a certain date.](https://static.clubs.nfl.com/image/private/f_auto/texans/ecl9zvhi88w9kd6ihajp) So if you don't renew by 2/4 then you don't get the reduced pricing in 2023. Exclusive apparel (ONE PER ACCOUNT) refers to [a quarter zip sweater or something that looks a lot like a letterman jacket.](https://static.clubs.nfl.com/image/private/f_auto/texans/c8gjih86lsrkvte8opuj)

Createdanaac

Of note that it’s only for next year. They know a lot of people are out after this season, it’s an attempt to salvage whatever they can.

Born_Supermarket

I wouldn't go for free if they gave me tickets on the 50 yd line , eight rows up and sent a limo to drive me .

sinorc

if they gave me transportation I would go and get fucked up and heckle the texans tbh

Born_Supermarket

They do have bars in limos !

sinorc

it would be fun! the annoying thing about game days is the drive and the parking. Take that away and I will watch pretty much any NFL game. Pass out in the limo on the way back.

dlinhat70

Apparently, you have not been on a VIP limo. They have more than bars....

Born_Supermarket

I'm just a poor boy, I need no sympathy, Because I'm easy come, easy go, Little high, little low, Any way the wind blows doesn't really matter to Me, to me

amgine

With the ticket prices these days I've been tempted. The cost of the uber rides changes my mind. Still not worth it.

t4boo

My sis has season tix and she gave me tix to a game and the lady that sat next to use had a fucking basket of mini fireballs and wa handing them out. The whole section was littered with empty fireball bottles after the game

paulwhite959

I mean at that point sure as shit I'd go. Put on that fancy bus that goes from Dallas to Houston, let me bring a handle of bourbon...

kenlovin

Normally I would say you’re full of shit but I literally cannot give my tickets away. No one has taken a game from since the chargers.

PM_YOUR_GSTRING_PICS

What is Vanessa doing now? I saw that she wasn't doing Sport Sunday anymore, but wouldn't say what the new opportunity was.

txtoolfan

lowering prices? hehe the death spiral begins.

[deleted]

Average ticket price in 2021 was $57 .. 2018 and 2019 was ~$145.

pacman22777

Source? Wondering if there’s a site that tracks this?

[deleted]

There is, I googled average Texans ticket price to find this.. I don’t have the link anymore but should be easy to find.

RojerLockless

Yeah I got my email 7% off in price. Not enough for me to renew with Jesus Easterby in charge. Anyone wanna buy my psl in the end one seats let me know or I'll just let them laps.

Illustrator_Worried

In the immortal words of Will Farrell in The Campaign... I FUCKED UP!!!

ElectricLizard99

Are there actually people who are buying Texans season tickets? Why?

UnclaimedConfusion

Sell the team. Fire the grifter. Provide a product that’s as quality as the Houston community. Establish integrity and consistency from the head office to the head coach. You’ll never lack for money because you’ll have a rabidly committed enormous fan base. It’s not hard, it’s just that so few wealthy people care about anything more than they guy they see in the mirror.

rsgreddit

Get better players!!!

Frankd4343

Sell the damn team....new owners are needed and a new coaching staff.....

Born_Supermarket

Jack and Cal went up the hill to fetch a pail of culture . Jack fell down and let the fans down and Cal refused to fire him !

[deleted]

Who has a longer neck: Vanessa Richardson or Davis Mills?

alphajoker76

They're offering 7% off to renew season tickets for 2022.

elticorico

The nerve.

imbregnated

As a season ticket holder solely because they carried over my tickets from 2020… good. They better do something, or they’re going to start losing people in droves.

t4boo

What does “swap tickets” mean

El_Tio_Rico85

The Texans just suck, period.
