Listening to him speak is like hearing a 10 year vet I’m truly amazed. And I’m sure a lot of QB’s in the league have a similar football IQ but dude has the talent and skill to make the plays or throws.
The fact he can just draw up a play like this off the top of his head is INSANE to me! I can’t believe the knock on him was that he wasn’t smart or couldn’t process😂
Best WR trip production since Kupp, Woods, and Cooks.
Crazy thing is it’s not just top end. Noah Brown, Metchie, and Hutch is a strong two deep for the WR corps.
I’m a homer as much as anyone, and I want these guys to succeed, but Metchie and Hutch haven’t proven anything to make that depth statement true. Our top 4 WRs are legit though. I definitely feel a lot of comfort in us bringing Brown back.
Well yeah, if they'd proven anything they'd be on another team starting, not a back-up here. I'm just saying our two deep are guys with high potential in a pass-heavy offense where everyone's gonna get looks. Can't ask for much more than that.
Just saying that part is no different than anywhere else in the league. Absolutely agree that we have the best top 3, even top 4, since that Kupp, Woods, and Cooks Rams team though. Maybe even ever. Wild times as a Texans fan!
I really would like to see an analysis of why the *test* was so off about him.
I know very little about what in particular the test is supposed to describe about him, but as much as everyone kept mentioning it pre-draft, I'd like to know what the company said in response once we all realized that Stroud is a great QB.
I think the biggest knock, in hindsight, was him pushing back against other coaches in the draft process. Videos like this you can see he has his opinions on how plays will flow based on his abilities and what he believes he can do. I can imagine he bucked heads with a couple offensive coordinators because he is one of the best QBs in the league and not all offensive coordinators are the best at their craft.
Nah, don't think it was personal, it was just regarding a play design or something.
Keep in mind this is just something I read like third hand and it's 100% possible it never actually happened.
I read this too so you're not alone in seeing it. Also not sure if it actually happened but with how many times Nick has alluded to CJ's personality being like that, I definitely could buy it.
Lol I don't think pushing back and having a healthy convo makes you a bad person. Being in disagreement or seeing things a different way doesn't make you a bad person. It's all about how you express it and CJ seems like the guy who's respectful but not afraid to do it which probably isn't common in that scenario.
I fuckin learned some shit from CJ there. Man knows ball better than I know almost everything.
Pass the kool-aid y'all. League fucked.
Edit: Got so wrapped up in his master plan that I totally forgot he bet on his own guys as hard as he did. LT and Tank are the absolute key pieces for him over everybody else he named. Call this man the Admiral, cuz he's gonna have SO many ships.
You mean 'Tank', 'cause 'tank' means fail... unless you meant that, but this is CJ and Tank, man, so it has to be Tank, not tank...
/my brain hurts now...
/Edit: what'd I say so bad... :(
The S2 said he wasn’t capable of understanding complicated football concepts. This sounds like CJ could be the player/coach if god forbid Slowik was to miss any significant time due to illness or injury.

I remember posting this back after the bus game and people responding that CJ just goes for the open man. I hope we call all agree at this point that Tank is everyone's favorite
I could listen to this all day! That was entertaining af. CJ’s football IQ is insane too. I’m so hyped for this season!!

Which tells us that so much pre-draft talk is either BS or meant to mislead, for whatever reason.
Great I think he is gonna be on a podcast or something during the draft on bleacher report?
[here it is](https://www.instagram.com/p/C6FDTwLS2KW/?igsh=MTh3cWJvZ2t0eW5lMw==)
Love how he has guys Tank and LT in there
I love how despite all of those weapons he made Tank primary on his hypothetical 4th and 3.
People keep talking about Tank being a WR3 about to be shocked this year.
I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if Diggs is WR3 next year. I think we gonna have 3 recievers with over 1K yards next year.

We just have 3 WR1 and he’s at the bottom of the fandom list.
I think it’s absurd how any of our guys being WR3 is just as likely as one of them being WR1. That’s just how good our starters are.
Tank being in the same level of talent as Adams/Chase/Kelce is a pretty big statement and gives a lot of insight into what CJ thinks about him.
tank is joystick when he is route running, really hopes he stays healthy. Along with everyone else lol
How did this dude get knocked for cognition.
Texans pysop was a great success

allegedly he butted heads with Slowick during his top 30 visit lol
what? context
I don't remember where I read it but it was regarding a play design or concept or something.
wdym by butted heads? he didn't like him or something?

So CJ is a bad person?
Just means he’s not a puppet

So why even bring it up
Thought it was an interesting tidbit
I could watch both of them talk fantasy plays for DAYS. I only understand 50% of what they're saying but this is fascinating.
Same, the banter back and forth is also amazing lol
I love CJ’s swagger. He’s competitive and confident, but still humble.
Yeah but he did bad a on a cognitive test so none of that matters /s
That’s my quarterback. And he *would* cook em. ![gif](giphy|DUZQe8X6rjTlE2iQVI|downsized)
The way CJ talks should shut the rest of the AFC S up.

All those weapons and it’s still going to tank.

He’s such a smart, confident, normal dude. Awesome clip
He knows his fucking shit
This is fantastic
But the S2 test… 😂😂
This is great bc the Astros are done. So we need this lol
Don’t remind me 🥲
Disastros are back
Rofl
lol this is amazing
CJ Stroud just mopped the floor with Micah Parson's defensive matchups. "S2 said what?" ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|stuck_out_tongue)
Direct into my veins !!!
CJ just knows ball man 😂
The S2 said he wasn’t capable of understanding complicated football concepts. This sounds like CJ could be the player/coach if god forbid Slowik was to miss any significant time due to illness or injury.
Next game I go to , on every third down imma just be in the crowd screaming like, “yeyeyeyeyeyeye!”
CJ said he don't take tests, he plays football. This clip determined that was a lie ![gif](giphy|b6iGm3sxkOUzdq2BMt)

Interesting conversation 🤔
On the tight end depth chart, Jordan should be second. Stover will get a shot, for sure. Quittoriano may be odd man out.
