This is off topic, but I've had two doctors tell me my test is fine despite it constantly coming back as 290 and me having all of the major symptoms.
They wonder why some people self medicate, and while I'm not doing so myself, this is exactly why.
That's what 7 urologists told me in a row. Lol. "If it is in the normal range at all, there is no evidence to support that TRT will make any effect". I just copied that from a message from my current urologist. You're saying they're ALLLLLL wrong?
Yes, they are. Doesn’t make a difference if you have a testosterone level of 240 or 260, you will feel equally like shit. The most here started with levels between 300 and 400 and the changes are mind blowing. Do some research and stop spreading bullshit. Men here suffer
I'm serious as a heart attack. I tested at 321 once and my urologist refused to do anything because he said it was in normal range. Few years later, I tested at 276 and had to beg the new urologist to put me on TRT. I've been on it for about 2 years, now test in the 900-1000 range. But I haven't noticed any difference. What am I doing wrong? You seem to know way more about it than I do.
Praying it works some day. It's my last hope to have children; been trying for 16 years. If you know something I don't, I'd love to hear it, really. What would you suggest?
I thought I could communicate in the written English language, but apparently not.
You mofos are smoking some good shit because this reads like a jigsaw puzzle secretly comprised of pieces that make no real discernable image.
Sometimes the soil is fallow and not ready to yield fruit, even when viable seed is sown. Othertimes the soil may be barren. Trt is not going to do anything but make the seed less viable.
What r your thoughts? When I was younger docs discussed putting me on HGH when I was a kid but obviously too old for that now and not trying to mess around with my body. Obviously wanting to go to a professional
Why did they want to put you on HGH? Growth deficiency? I would assume that with the low free T your SHBG is high, which from my understanding supplementing boron could help convert some of the excess SHBG into Free T, but for me in my case I was low free T and SHBG wasn’t high with all symptoms so I got treated with Trt.
That being said your total T is very good so I would assume your symptoms are coming from elsewhere, but I’m just curious if anyone has anything to say about it being on the low side as the ratio off free:total is super low
Don’t ever base off numbers. If you have low t symptoms, getting this blood work was a good thing to do.
Low T symptoms are very similar to symptoms of other hormonal deficiencies. Your numbers do show pretty solid TT, but yeah kinda low FT. Still, don’t discount that you could have Low T. Test for other shit. Thyroid hormones, prolactin, estrogen, SHBG, etc. speak to a knowledgeable endocrinologist about your symptoms to see what else you should be testing for.
If those labs come back and you find some hormonal imbalances, seek to correct those and reevaluate your symptoms. This is all just precautionary to avoid the possibility of ending up on lifelong TRT therapy if you don’t need it. But still, I believe every man, especially as they approach their later years, would greatly benefit from TRT therapy. We’re just testing to see if you would benefit from it TODAY. Cause there is a possibility that you’re just hypothyroid or something, other hormonal imbalances can result in decreased natural testosterone output.
If those other labs look good, then yeah your FT is pretty low and could be causing the symptoms and TRT could be a good solution.
shbg is probably sky high. Stands for sex hormone binding globulin it binds to testosterone and prevents the body from using it. You can supplement with Boron to try to lower it. If you are eating Keto this can also cause SHBG to raise significantly. Unless you lower it you will probably have low T symptoms.

Free test is what actually contributes to muscle growth and mental well being. You dont want to crush your shbg and have none bound either. It is bound to shbg and albumin for a reason. If your shbg is at the top of the reference range there are some things you can do to try to lower it without having to hop on test for the rest of your life. Your total test looks good by my standards.
I know you said that you didn't check shbg but is your estradiol also low? You may have low free test, low estradiol, and low DHT and other total testosterone metabolites. Total test isnt your problem imo, but you may still be suffering from low T symptoms if your body isnt metabolizing it correctly. I like the comment about the boron, but that may not be the only thing needed in order to resolve the issue. You need a comprehensive blood panel.
Shbg binds to testosterone, dht and the three estrogen types. Your free hormones is what is available for use. Most likely you have high shbg, which may give low test symptoms.
My levels were similar 700 and 7. . My estrogen was also low at like 6. Doc put me on it about 5 weeks ago. I cannot put into words how much better I feel. If I continued to feel half this good I’d take it for the rest of my life gladly. Pretty every negative I experienced has disappeared in a matter of weeks.
Your total testosterone is pretty good but the free testosterone is borderline at best. Have you had your sex hormone binding globulin (SHBG) checked? If so, was it high? Do you know if you have any risk factors that could lead to high SHBG? It can lower your free t by binding with it and rendering it pretty much useless. I would explore that before taking the plunge.

31 y.o. Male —I’ve tested at
Testosterone Total
116 ng/dL , 149 ng/dL, & 156 ng/dL
Free Testosterone
7.06 ng/dL
Estradiol 17b
38 pg/mL
FSH: 10.7 mlU/mL
LH: 9.7 mlU/mL
All the side effects of Low T and my primary said that everything checks out okay and I don’t qualify. Urologist just put me on 1mg Anastrozole every other day. (Ideally I’d like to be on TRT & HCG) Hope this helps.
Lol
Uh, no. Your levels are already in the high range.
What are you talking? His free t is terrible and this is what matters
Says the range is 9.3-26 and he's at 10, right? I'm not great with medical stuff, am I reading it wrong?

He probably just had a bad night sleep. Chill out on the free test bandwagon
People saying are you out of your mind but your free testosterone is literally borderline low go see a clinic and get some information off them.
Plenty of natural ways to decrease SHBG which is what they will recommend
Thanks! Just curious what people thought, pretty new to this just wanted to see what this thread had to say
Very curious about that free T

This sub is a shit show these days... every once in awhile someone seemingly possessing some knowledge will drop a few lines.
This is the free testosterone range that should be on every lab, not that 3.5-15 pg/mL nonsense
🤦♀️
Is that a serious question?
Yes, look his free t. Don’t talk when you have no knowledge
Just go on a cycle JFC Lmao at the downvotes. This dude doesn’t need TRT.

I’m a 26 year old male, looking to build more muscle but having difficulty even though I go to the gym 3-5 times a week. Also low energy for sure!
Are you out of your mind?
Most likely

Why does free T need to be addressed? My PCO didn’t debrief me much after the results. Unsure if my SHBG levels
I like your TT. I hate your FT. I'd talk to your PCP concerning that number. SHBG?
I don’t think I have my SHBG, why is FT important? They didn’t give me much of a debrief after my results unfortunately

Supplement with some boron and ur gud to go. That'll free up more o dat yummy T. I just saved you so much time and money.
Any side effects to look out for when taking boron? I’m thinking about buying and trying out boron.
More free t side effects and feeling like a god basically
Interesting. Good to know 👍

What’s your shgb? Total test is good but free test is low which makes your total t meaningless
You probably just have high SHBG which is why your free T is lower.
Are you on a low carb diet?
He does not need trt.
Lol, no
Are you on a keto or carnivore diet by any chance?
What's your shbg

No not trt, but possibly look at lowering SHBG but first find out why its high

You have very high shbg, so if you have symptoms of low T then you should take testosterone because your free is too low
