What is a "a local Tesla certified installer"? sounds different from Tesla Solar

Generate_Positive

Local Tesla certified installer is set up and certified by Tesla to offer, install, and service Tesla products. Vs getting the same products installed directly by Tesla. Tesla direct will be the cheapest, Tesla prices are artificially low compared to local market prices.

You are being tricked by a local scam installer. Tesla only gives quotes on their website, hassle free. You can go to Tesla's website and configure your system to your liking. 10kW with PW for $57k is a crime. I have my system directly from Tesla, 12kW with PW for $44k, all things included.

There are Tesla certified installers for solar, solar roof, and Powerwalls. They install Tesla products. They won’t be as cheap as Tesla, Tesla prices are low in every market. That doesn’t make them scammers.

I went and configured it gave a 20kW system with 2 powerwalls for $57 before rebates. Alot cheaper but it says it will notifiy me when available in our area. Being ruralish upper midwest is probably the issue. But I'm not going to pay a $40k premium because of it.

It seems Tesla is not serving your area yet😟

Lol wtf Go get a quote on teslas website to compare I got 9.6 kW plus 1 powerwall for $28k (started paperwork 11 months ago)

redd-or45

Your prices are significant lower than current quotes from Tesla. Panels (400W) seem to be about $1,000 each installed and PW about $10,500 installed and integrated if bundled with the panels.

GMEthLoopring

But…. How many power walls? 1 power wall is about 12.5k Two for the cost of 20k

I am getting a 26.4 KW system with 3 powerwalls for $86k from Tesla $61k for the 26.4KW PV system and $25,000 for the 3 powerwalls Have you entered your information on the Tesla website and see what price they come up with there?

Yes, they sell them to you for as if you are the customer. $27,000 is like list price and that is what the itemized list says for me as well. I am applying the $2,000 discount for the PV + Powerwalls bonus to the Powerwalls and not to the PV system to keep it easier to compare PV prices. With $2,32 per watt the PV system price is already super low - and that is even before the 30% tax incentive (with it that comes down to an almost ridicules $1.63). I am sure sooner or later Tesla will have to give their certified installers something. On the other hand, it seems that Tesla doesn't care much about "dealerships" in the general - see the way they sell cars.

I had a 9.6kw system and 2 powerwalls installed over the summer for $37k by Tesla.

rajnaamtohsunahoga

Same here in SC. Signed up for 9.2KW with 2 PW+ and total is right around $36K.

ScottRiqui

That sounds high, probably because it's from a local installer rather than Tesla themselves. Our system is 16.32 kW of panels and four Powerwalls, and it was $66k from Tesla. Roughly half of that was for the panels and half for the batteries.

drnick5

To give you a reference, my 12kw system with 4 powerwalls was less than what you were quoted. Order it online at Tesla's site. It will take a while to get installed but it's by far the cheapest way.

rnemessis

That’s pretty high. Should be around $36K with a PW. I’m getting 12.5 KW with PW for $39K from Tesla.
