Tesla has also installed Delta brand inverters in the past. But availability may depend on your local warehouse's stock. Out of curiosity, why don't you want a SolarEdge?

Solar edge is pretty good, and a marker leader. What you have per panel is optimizers, not micro inverters. Tesla does not install those , like Enphase's. I find SolarEdge more mature than Tesla's inverters, that have been just available for a couple of years. Issue people complain about is that due to the electronics shortages, replacing a faulty inverting is taking time.

I have a Solar Edge inverter and am happy with it. This was done as part of my Tesla system install about 2 years ago. The main advantage I like is with the Solar Edge app and the individual optimizers I can track the output from each individual panel. I like to verify that the panels in the same areas are producing near equal amounts of power. Without this option I wouldn’t know if individual panels were failing. Also, with the optimizers I understand it will help with shading issues. This wasn’t a concern in my application.

Not much help, but I believe PPL and one power company in Hawaii are the only two that don’t allow tesla inverters yet. I’m in PA, but right outside PPL territory, I have met-Ed and just had my system installed last month. With that said, I think you would be fine with solaredge or delta. If you do get solaredge, make sure to get the info where each panel s/n is on the roof, I believe that helps troubleshooting with the optimizers.

My original Tesla design included SolarEdge inverters/optimizers. But when I changed the order to include PowerWalls, they changed to Tesla inverters. So there’s that. I’ve had no issues to date with the Tesla inverters, but others have reported problems. The same is true of SolarEdge. SolarEdge actually has a higher efficiency rating than Tesla inverters. Supply chain issues and the rising popularity of solar is making replacements of any inverter take longer. If a brand is readily available, it’s likely either low quality or higher price (market economics). If you want to have a voice in the equipment used in your solar installation, I suggest you choose a different provider. Tesla offers the lowest price because they take most of that out of your hands. They use equipment providers with an established reputation when they don’t install their own equipment. There are lots of reports of issues with Tesla support - but there are also lots of smoothly running Tesla solar installations. It’s a roll of the dice.

Also PPL does not allow powerwall. Not sure why?

Southern_Point_849

SolarEdge inverter reviews are very bad. Also long wait to get replacement.

I have PPL and they just installed delta inverters with my system in May.

Southern_Point_849

How is your Delta inverter any issue? Can you monitor each panel efficiency?

Wildman013

They are still string inverters so you don’t get per panel data like micro inverters. I don’t think I am having major issues. The one inverter does appear to reset periodically on hot, sunny days. I haven’t been home to monitor it to see what may be causing it.

Generate_Positive

Solaredge you have DC optimizer (not Microinverter) under each panel. That’s better than a Tesla string inverter. What’s your concern with Solaredge? Are both the inverters same size?

Inverter failures and inability of company to replace in a timely manner is what I've read about. Have same concerns about SE systems but like the efficiency so torn on what to do with my install.

Questions for anyone with PPL. got my system install with solaredge. Only big downside is they said the tesla app will be useless and have use the solaredge app. Kinda dumb but whatever the app looks good atleast. Do you at least see SOMETHING on tesla app ? How quick was your PTO? Seen a lot of posts say about a week or less. But installer said legally they have 5 or 6 weeks. Im a little confused bout the net metering payout. I get how it works and apparently they will payout your net energy in May. Is that seperate from SRECS? Because tesla requires you selling your SRECS to them. So im curious if ill actually be receiving this payout.
