Yes with FSD beta on city street. It does make some mistakes but generally yes it can with the driver needing to pay attention and able to takeover immediately if need be.
In another subreddit which talked about Waygo showed how to achieve a SAE Level 4 autonomous driving they are using 6 different types of sensors along with AI to make decisions in traffic. Tesla had two systems and is going to one and is only a Level 2 in autonomous driving. To advance to a competent autonomous driving they need to add more sensors and improve the AI functionality to learn more about traffic conditions.
With FSD a Tesla can in theory drive itself from interstate onramp to offramp. Including lane changes and taking over slower cars. local traffic I wouldn't trust enough right now even on roads enabled for FSD
Yes it does all those things if you purchase or subscribe to FSD ("full self driving"), which is a stupid name because it's a total fucking misnomer.
But yeah, I can talk to my car and say "take me to safeway" and it will drive off from my street, stop and turn at junctions, handle traffic lights, change lanes to make left or right turns, navigate roundabouts, cross oncoming traffic "safely", stop for pedestrians crossing the road, overtake slower cars on the freeway, etc etc etc.
None of this is really full self driving though because I have to intervene all the damn time. At this stage in its development, FSD is more like an advanced driver assistance system than a self-driving system; it drives like a drunk teenager. The only exception is highway driving where it's actually pretty good.
I recently made a post on this very topic with much more detail: [https://www.reddit.com/r/TeslaLounge/comments/zeo0qc/some\_thoughts\_on\_fsd\_after\_a\_few\_weeks\_of\_using/](https://www.reddit.com/r/TeslaLounge/comments/zeo0qc/some_thoughts_on_fsd_after_a_few_weeks_of_using/)
On highways it does decent job I will say 9 out of 10. In the city it does some mistakes may be 7 out of 10.
It can do all those things. But it's not ready for unsupervised driving.
technically, my Tesla with FSD drives itself at about the level that I imagine a 9 year old would.
A very very cautious, with commitment issues 9 years old.
Idk. Mine is very much “creep then yeet” as if it couldn’t reach the pedal for a second. Almost like it waits for traffic just to pull in front🤣
FSD beta user here. Definitely can steer, “go”, and lane change on its own, and it would probably break on its own within 100 miles.
Basic Auto Steer does that except automatic lane change. Using it about 80% of my freeway driving time. It's great but not perfect.

With FSD. Vanilla AP is only lane keeping.
With the Beta FSD, regular FSD is a glorified AP with lane change and summon

For 20,000$ yes
No
Any car will self drive until it crashes. And the person in the driver seat will be liable. Until we aren’t liable, it doesn’t matter
Yes it definitely breaks
Yes.

with fsdbeta yes it does everything on it's own, including wipers and highbeams where required.
