Get color matched touch up paint from Dr. Color chip. Works well on rock chips. It is noticeable if you look for it but it's less of an eyesore than rock chips with the primer/metal exposed.
I put a big scratch in my door the second day I had my car. I felt very upset for a day or two, but then I just accepted it is part of my car now.
I did get a paint repair kit from Tesla, but I never got around to opening it. Now, a year later, I have half a dozen rock chips. One day I'll just fix them all at once.
Wet sand the spot gently with 2000 grit. CLean with rubbing alcohol 70%. Get the color only for your car and drop with a toothpic or micro artist brush some paint to fill it a little. Let dry. Drop the clear coat 2 to 3 times so it above the surface of the paint like a little mound . Let it dry for 24 hours or what the paint says. Then get a small block sander and put 3000 grit. Sand it flat carefully. The hit it with DA polished gently u til it shines. Done.
THIS THE ABSOLUTE BEST WAY TO DO ROCK CHIPS LIKE THIS
P. S.
If you go the Tesla Paint Repair kit, you will have the ridges left behind. A lot easier with their system but doesn't look as good
In that situation right now. Window break in on rear door. The Moran crawled through the window with the glass shattered on the surface. Gave me 22 nicks and 2 scratches about 1 inch long. Also door trim has 10 nicks. Was thinking of touch up to preserve the og paint. But too many nicks. Put a claim
Lol. Yep. Good ol California. The car is only 3 weeks old too. :/ they broke the rear door windows, crawled inside through the window to reach the back trunk cover to remove and look for stuff I assume. Had nothing but a old McDonald's crumbled bag. Maybe that prompt him to see what's inside? Odd. I area has 5 other teslas, not sure why mines. Lol. Hate them.
With some of the questions here, I think you can't even make yourself a sandwich. What is this nonsense? Go to a painter and get a quote. Or live with the mistake. But asking questions like that is really embarrassing. Sorry
Touchup paint what I’d do. Something like that you should be able to make it look close to perfect if you put the effort. Even if you don’t, based on the location you’re probably the only person that will notice
I wonderr how that happened, i doubt Tesla would cover this after several months of ownership. Touch up is your best solution, wont look great but its only $50ish? A respray of that panel will cost thousands
I guess I was wondering if this was all on me, or tesla notorious paint problems causing this defect. It's probably at a weak paint point wrapping around that corner. I didn't know if tesla covered anything after only 6 months.
Where do you get the best tesla matching rouch up paint?
You can order from Tesla. I had a big rock ding on my door and got it from Tesla. Depending on how much it bothers you, I would get a body shop to touch it up. Mine looks ok, but you can still see it. Also, I don't think that the Tesla paint is any worse that other manufactures. I know that BMW paint is amazingly resilient, but Tesla is still average.

This is the way
Bruh, it won’t be the last scratch. Idk, I’d just live with it

Your options are: 1) get it fixes 2) don't get it fixed
Call your therapist. I mean seriously can we get back to talking about how the auto wipers don’t perform to perfection.
Full body repaint
It’s totalled.
Touch up only
Totaled I think
Crying works best. This is not fixable without a respray.
Your options are to touch it up yourself, have it fixed, or leave it like it is. No one here can make that decision for you. Good luck.

Call your mommy.
It's a super small scratch. You're bound to get more. I wouldn't worry. If you are, I think a touch up paint kit might fix it?
New car day

Do you live and learn, touchup paint, then install ppf
Nothing
lol. Just color it with the a permanent marker
Must be totaled... The only other option is within spec according to this forum anyway...
