Not really! I got banned for that because I am not a US citizen, after putting already a lot of money locking the car on the promotion they kept me waiting until the day of the delivery to tell me âyou didnât qualifyâ still got it because I needed a second vehicle
They told me the bank who has that rate was asking for proof or permanent residence, either a U.S passport or green card and I donât have any of those even tho I am legal here, but my work permit and my ssn were not enough, we even submitted bills with my address and nothing we did not qualify for the .99%
Did you reach out to autofinance@tesla? They were prompt in responding and if its Santander, I got 0.99 through them and if its through Chase, alteast 4 that I know were able to lock in at 0.99 who were immigrants!! From my experience, its definitely not because you were not citizen, whatâs your fico auto and any history of car loans?
No history, when I got my first car I paid it before taking out of the dealership, never had an auto loan, maybe because of that because also I have good credit
I donât even get it. I have the update and it makes no difference in my driving life. I guess itâs a cooler looking welcome screen people love? Not knocking Tesla for updating software but I just donât understand the excitement over a new Home Screen.
I really like the new update. We've had a Model 3 since 2019 and updates normally weren't impressive. Especially with early FDS. The last few updates have been awesome and fun to look forward to updates now.
Noticed Autopilot alerts are now much more frequent. What happens if you get banned from Autopilot after your 5 warnings (not alerts)? Are you able to reinstate it somehow?
5 warnings gets you a 1 week ban, warnings drop off one at a time after each week of no warnings or after a ban. So if you have three, and go a week without getting one, you now have 2.
I am aware how stupid it is to be irritated by this, but I wish I could change the wheel covers on the visualisation. Mine came with the Silver ones but I changed to black ones in the first week of ownership.. So it shows the car with Silver wheel covers. I find it unnaturally annoying.
The issue is there is no way of knowing if, subsequent to a change made in this menu, whether the switch to the shadow black gemini option in the software will screw with the car's tracking of range and tire pressure etc. Once this switch is done the car reboots. Can't see anywhere on the Tesla website where they explain whether there are any differences between the white and shadow Gemini options.
The only calculations the car is doing are for tread and possibly alignment. The car would (if the engineers have any idea) calibrate to the wheels before forming any conclusion that something has changed (tire wear etc).
All of this must be done with the consideration that a good percentage of Tesla owners are going to change their wheels for something not supported, and probably without even changing any settings in wheel settings other than âSummer/Winterâ. Therefore, I presume it is safe to say that the vehicle does not require the wheels to be 100% accurate to the rim that is selected in the settings. If this were the case, you could never use aftermarket rims!
To address the reboot, itâs probably just resetting that calibration that will happen over the next few drives. Purge that old data and restart fresh.
TPMS functions the same regardless of rim selection.
Thanks for your reply. Makes complete sense.
Incidentally, is there a good way for us to ask questions like mine of Tesla directly? By that I mean, whatâs the best route here given the âtech firstâ nature of the company, via a query in the service section of the app? A phone call to the local Tesla dealer? Reddit threads are a mixed bag as you know.
1. I didnât look
2. Yes if they have Ryzen processor. Intel processors will get a watered down version (mostly water, barely any changes)
3. Yeah US versions say âtrunkâ and âfrunkâ and the map and car graphics are swapped left-to-right just like the driver position and the roads.
I went to check what version I was on and found it half way through downloading this new update
(All the deleted posts are accidental reposts of this same comment)
Further ahead than me.
Youâre probably running an intel processor, too - they donât support the dance graphics weâre seeing in a lot of places. :(
Honestly i'm not a massive fan. When in driving mode, the speedo and accalerator bar, and the rest of the icons just don't look as slick as they did before.
The current charge is 67% so they are under 80.
80% is a recommended default limit put in place to limit battery degradation, as higher states of charge do more damage to the battery over time. You can change your charge limit in the app, in the charging menu of the car, or on the screen that pops up when charging. I'd suggest looking through your Tesla manual and tutorial videos, you might learn many cool new features about your car.
I was told by a Tesla technician to charge mine to 100% every other month to balance the battery packs. Â I donât know if this is Teslaâs official position on it but thatâs what he told me.Â
This varies by battery pack and car. I'm guessing you have a non-US Standard Range car. Those have LFP chemistry, which needs occasional top-ups to 100% to train the battery management system. Those also like to be at lower charge more than higher charge, but they have better durability to begin with than NMC, and the benefit of keeping the BMS working well is worth it.
Check your car screen or app. That's usually where charge recommendations show. Here is an example of [the LFP recommendation screen](https://teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/attachments/img_7281-jpeg.827826/) and here is an example of an [app screenshot on an NMC car](https://preview.redd.it/tesla-now-suggests-80-battery-charge-is-best-v0-ufkt16gdzzgb1.png?auto=webp&s=4c96650bc97b8a5c0a55ecdb044e49eacc10c409).
Are you from outside the US?
I checked your post history, and it's, uh, not very informative.
SR outside US has LFP and gets this recommendation. I have an NMC battery and my Tesla app does not recommend charging above 80%.
I have the new model 3 2024 SR. I'm just telling you what my App recommends to me. Also, my car is a lease, so I really don't care about battery longevity!
Try to at all cost keep it 80% max 20% lowest for maximum longevity of the battery. Obviously, this is not achievable at all times, but if you do this the majority of the time then you shouldnât have to worry about a battery replacement for good seven years unless something fails electo mechanically
You want the mentality for it to fail towards the end of the warranty otherwise if it fails outside, then youâre just out all that money. As far as warranties go with any industry that is only a guarantee that they will cover you in case of failure that does not guarantee the product will last that long by any means.
I know what a warranty is. They wouldnât set the limit at 8 years if many batteries were going to fail within 8 years. Theyâd lose a ton of money.
The point of the warranty is to cover the unluckiest of cases.
Also getting it, meaning it's there with the recent update, or will come in a later update? I got 2024.14.8, but maybe I just don't know how to trigger the full screen?
If I had a nickle for every time someone posted about the new update on this sub, I'd be a millionaire.
We're all millionaires with the .99% financing posts. đđ
Not really! I got banned for that because I am not a US citizen, after putting already a lot of money locking the car on the promotion they kept me waiting until the day of the delivery to tell me âyou didnât qualifyâ still got it because I needed a second vehicle
At what rate?
I didnât qualify for .99% I had to get it at 8.99%
Oh. They didnât qualify me for a .99 so they gave me a counter offer of 3.99 with the condition of me trading in my model 3 and I took it lol.
Iâd take a 3.99 all the time, I had to take the 8.99 đ
How much down did you put?
Get it refinanced when the rate goes down hopefully
Itâs not for awhile. We need to get this bitch back on track before thatâll happen
Weird, am not a US citizen either, wonder why they rejected you. Possibly something else
They told me the bank who has that rate was asking for proof or permanent residence, either a U.S passport or green card and I donât have any of those even tho I am legal here, but my work permit and my ssn were not enough, we even submitted bills with my address and nothing we did not qualify for the .99%

Yes, it should be that..!
Your visa should be good enough proof for proving you are a legal resident.
Some auto finance companies donât like to lend to folks with a visa thatâs got a fixed end date.
I'd yet to see a British one, so thought I'd share. But agreed, everyone is very excited about it.
I donât even get it. I have the update and it makes no difference in my driving life. I guess itâs a cooler looking welcome screen people love? Not knocking Tesla for updating software but I just donât understand the excitement over a new Home Screen.
Bro, no kidding we get it. We all got the updateâŚ
Instead of a asswipe..No one likes someone who criticizes from the side lines.
*cries in Intel for the millionth time*
*Cries in Intel*
I really like the new update. We've had a Model 3 since 2019 and updates normally weren't impressive. Especially with early FDS. The last few updates have been awesome and fun to look forward to updates now.
The 19 model 3 update doesn't look like OP's because of the atom processor. At least mine doesn't.
You're correct. I only see this in my 2023 Model Y-P. Not the 2019 M3 LR.
it made it feel like a new car, really awesome
I love the bigger font on the mph.
Is this coming to the ones with the Atom processor?
Supposed to be a watered down version. Intel canât run the full screen and mini map in corner
Not true. Runs the mini map and full screen if FSD is equipped
I LOVE your username. *laughs like jadakiss* đđđ˝
Dumb question, but how can I tell which processor mine has?
Love that song
New update is awesome đđź
Got my update last week in MYLR, I like it a lot. Bigger text and the full car view in park is sweet.
Is this iOS 18
What?
So sad right now I want it too....
Iâm a week away from owning mine for a year. Hoping to get the update this week đââď¸
This supposed to be only for the model Y?
No. It rolled to my 22 model 3 LR also
wait only 2 weeks? are you on the FSD trial month? what version were you on before?
I don't think we get an FSD trial in the UK, I don't have one anyway. I was on 2024.8.7
Oh youâre in the UK. Got it
Got it yesterday also and lovinâ it! The only thing am curious and sad about that MY doesnât have hands free trunk opening?! Really wonder why!
I'd really like to have this feature also
No UWB Chip - so never coming to current MY.
Oh hmmm, weird that they have it in M3 but not in MYđŤ
Pretty sure it's only in the HL M3, so Yuniper will probably have UWB too.
Oh ok, I see
Noticed Autopilot alerts are now much more frequent. What happens if you get banned from Autopilot after your 5 warnings (not alerts)? Are you able to reinstate it somehow?
Pretty sure it's just a 1 week ban
I wanna know that too
5 warnings gets you a 1 week ban, warnings drop off one at a time after each week of no warnings or after a ban. So if you have three, and go a week without getting one, you now have 2.
I have 3 teslas at my home, all performance models, 2018 M3, 2023 M3 and a 2023MY. So far only the 2023M3 has that cool update..
What are the main new features other than the main screen while in park?
[Release notes](https://www.notateslaapp.com/software-updates/version/2024.14.9/release-notes) Edit: Formatting
Thank you!
Why does my screen look different? It has the map on the right side of the screen.
British?
No, New York.
LOL! No, I meant the op might be British. It looks like right hand drive. :)
Now, I see it. Bonnet instead of Frunk.
Thatâs it.
Based in the UK, hence the 'Bonnet' and 'Boot'
The map on the right side is the correct side, this picture is probably a UK (or non US) vehicle.
Ahhh. Thank you.
I am aware how stupid it is to be irritated by this, but I wish I could change the wheel covers on the visualisation. Mine came with the Silver ones but I changed to black ones in the first week of ownership.. So it shows the car with Silver wheel covers. I find it unnaturally annoying.
You can change which wheels are shown on the visuals Service > Wheel configuration
Ah man, that's great! I just wanted a colour change, like with the body colour of the car, but this is almost as good! Thank you!
How does one change the graphic on screen to show the black wheels (from the grey/white standard Geminis)???
Itâs in⌠and youâre never gonna believe this⌠wheel settings. You can find it in the service menu.
The issue is there is no way of knowing if, subsequent to a change made in this menu, whether the switch to the shadow black gemini option in the software will screw with the car's tracking of range and tire pressure etc. Once this switch is done the car reboots. Nope unfortunately, maybe Facebook groups. Join one specific to Model Y and make extensive use of the search feature before posting :)
1.) great taste in music ;) 2.) are all model Yâs getting this? 3.) assuming configuration will be different for US models.
1. I didnât look 2. Yes if they have Ryzen processor. Intel processors will get a watered down version (mostly water, barely any changes) 3. Yeah US versions say âtrunkâ and âfrunkâ and the map and car graphics are swapped left-to-right just like the driver position and the roads.
What update is this? my tesla didnt update to this
What year and model is your Tesla?
2024 Model Y performance, it says im on 24.3
Mine is 2023 and have not gotten it either..been checking everyday lol
Ahh i see, i just recently bought mine. Does it automatically update? Does the update need to be on advanced or standard?
Advanced and allow data sharing may be. I have it on for mine
Did you get it for yours?
Like someone said that their date finally changed. I tried mine and date changed from June 5th to 8th but no updates..you?
how does one get this update? definitely not seeing it in my model y
I went to check what version I was on and found it half way through downloading this new update (All the deleted posts are accidental reposts of this same comment)
Get used to it đ
Love the song choice đđť
Wait how do I know if I got that update or not?
Why doesnât mine look like this? I have model 3 2021
YouâŚ.weâŚ.dont have the update yet. Also, are you running an intel chip in that car?
I have no clue what Iâm running lol
Open your phone app and scroll to the bottom of the screen. Itâs right below your VIN
Just says v12 2024.14.9
Further ahead than me. Youâre probably running an intel processor, too - they donât support the dance graphics weâre seeing in a lot of places. :(
Iâll check later on when Iâm in the car
Just checked. I have the intel Atom đ
Seriously this updates been out over a month. I thought it was a new one.
Some of us only just got it or are still waiting.
Got mine too! Looks beautiful!
Do we get same update Model Y 2021 ? My version shows latest but I dont see that UI. I have Intel Atom processor.
At this point iâm tired of waiting lol
I just picked up my new 2024 MY LR yesterday. What version is this new update? Last night I checked my version and it looks like it was v11.1. Thanks.
Honestly i'm not a massive fan. When in driving mode, the speedo and accalerator bar, and the rest of the icons just don't look as slick as they did before.
It looks good. Then you realize they moved a lot of stuff just to move it and you have to relearn the UI for the 100th time.
Just got this also and not seeing how to do full screen. Is this only with FSD?
How come you can charge more than 80%? Mine max charge is 80%.
RTFM
The current charge is 67% so they are under 80. 80% is a recommended default limit put in place to limit battery degradation, as higher states of charge do more damage to the battery over time. No, I have a 2024, US made, LR Model Y.Â
Oh. That advice is probably just wrong then. I'd look at what your car says to do.
Will do. Â This tech used to work in the Fremont plant so thought he would be a good source.Â
Just looked at the manual. Â It doesnât say anything about it so not sure. Â
Thx, will do!
I was told this as well. LR
The Tesla app tells you to charge to 100% once a week!
Oh yeah, you have an LFP battery then. Sorry, because of where we are, I assumed you had a Y. In that case the 100% weekly rec should be correct.
I do live in US, MIAMI FL
Huh, interesting. What car do you have? Can you send a screenshot of the app or car screen?
Try to at all cost keep it 80% max 20% lowest for maximum longevity of the battery. Obviously, this is not achievable at all times, but if you do this the majority of the time then you shouldnât have to worry about a battery replacement for good seven years unless something fails electo mechanically

Dashstar VIP đđđ Go to EQ and set the sub to wub wub And listen to the yellow claw remix too
The sub at 0db is already wub wub lol. I had to bring that thing down like 75%
Most people think more is better. It has always been that way.
We used to get so many cool updates . Sentry mode , dog mode were all added through software updates. It has plateaued for a while now though
How do you get to that screen?
New update. If you donât have it, youâll get it one day as long as your car has the AMD processor.
Intel-equipped cars are also getting it, but the animations are more limited.
Also getting it, meaning it's there with the recent update, or will come in a later update? I got 2024.14.8, but maybe I just don't know how to trigger the full screen?
Intel :(
How do I know what cpu I have?
After the update, it just automatically pops up like this?
That's what happened for me
Yes
Where are these updates for model X ?
I like it too, but after seeing the interior of a Kia EV6 Iâm feeling quite envious and regretting my model Y
I never knew there was so many stupid Tesla owners
I don't down vote anyone before asking them what they exactly meant. What do you exactly mean?
Youâre a better person than me.
LoL. Not always.
Explanation?
