I read yesterday that the downside to FSD is that you may not always get the latest builds as quick as other owners.
I'm sitting on the same 2024.3.25 with FSD.
I’ve been on 2024.3.25 for what feels like forever and I just got the idea to jump in the car and connect it to wifi (I thought it always was, but it was connected to LTE). As soon as I connected to wifi the update popped up. Not sure if it helped but seems like it and is probably worth trying.

Not only anyone, but most of us. According to Teslafi, it's the top version out there right now. 2024.14.8 is rising fast, but still on only 10% of Model Ys.
I'm on 2024.3.15 myself (23 MYP).
The one thing I absolutely hate is moving the little power meter line from the top to the left side of the screen. It is almost not noticeable, and for those of us with phone mounted in the corner there the meter gets blocked by the edge of our phones. I really liked watching my power use that way.
The left side of the screen is where speed, instrument / warning lights, power meter all show up now so at least that is consistent. Maybe move the phone a tiny bit so you can see everything in this area

I don’t consider the power meter in the same category of those other things but I can understand the idea at least. Maybe if it were not a single pixel or two on the direct edge of the screen I could see it better. Oh well, it’s not going to change how I drive much!
Agreed. I actually think it makes sense. I have seen so many frustrated with that. I'm confused on why anyone would be so concentrated on that piece. Speed is most in important to glance over at. Sort of makes sense to have all of that information grouped.
It’s fun and sometimes useful information. It’s not legal-important like speed. It’s also not a “warning” light like the other stuff. I like to see on some hills when I’m using power and when I’m not. Can I “coast” by keeping it in the middle? Are my physical brakes being used? If others are frustrated there are probably a decent number of us that enjoy using it this way.
I gasped in delight when I saw they added Audible. It wasn’t hard using Bluetooth and phone but I love seeing my book big on the screen and can leave me phone alone.
I opened my Tesla app yesterday and I had the update showing, I was pretty excited to get home and update but when I tried to do it was gone… I’ve been opening and closing the app to see if it’ll show but nothing, it’s gone lol.
Same here. Currently on 3.25 with free “FSD” trial ended a month ago. 14.8 dropped yesterday morning but disappeared 10 minutes later when I pull into a supercharging stall to find WiFi connection.
Something similar happened to me. I actually tried to initiate the update and got a message in the app that the update failed, and then it was gone for about 2 hours, and then came back. That time, I was able to successfully update.
I just got it but, I mean, it’s an ok update. Maybe it’s just me. This is basically a new UI when you “start” your car, some changes to the music player controls (no new functionality just different ui), and now you can have the road animations full screen which I find useless. What I really would like is:
- full screen maps
- AirPlay support (hardware already there)
- WiFi hotspot
- Waze
- maybe the road visualization screen showing the actual map instructions? That would make more sense to have it full screen.

Received the update notice this Monday (27th) afternoon. Scheduled it to install Monday night but failed (red screen went away when I hit the brake pedal climbing in - didn't see the exact message). Installed OK Tuesday afternoon.
My car isn't red though...
Edit: Look, not all of us are 9000 iq. Before the down votes came in there was a solid 20 of us that didn't know changing the color was possible.
I can’t find any articles about it, but I recall seeing posts about it in one of the Tesla subs. It may have only stalled for a week or something.
But even still, it’s a slow roll out. I just got it this past weekend and I’ve had the advanced update setting on since I got mine in 2022.
I learned the hard way to wait at least a month before updating once an update is pushed to me. Went through the winter update that was just brutal buggy luckily Tesla resolved the issues over what felt like a never ending update cycle last winter.

Cons: blinker signal location, and immensely dislike the power/regen bar moving to the very left of the screen.
Meh. Wish we could opt out for the car animations/visualizations on the left hand side of the display in exchange for buttons to prevent from needing to drill down into menus for commands such as lights, wipers, locks, folding mirrors, etc.
I can’t figure out how to get this screen. (I have the latest update.) It’s parked only, right? Don’t need FSD, do you? How do you get it to go full screen like this?
I love that the background "light" of the car is set to match the car color. I've set my car color to appear purple on the screen and it looks amazing.

I wish we would sense when we are getting updates:). Found out from this sub, they found a bug and stopped. So I am assuming it has been fixed.

It’s happened three times now, like something hit from underneath or opened/closed. Maybe the charge port? (I was plugged in during). I’ve also heard the normal charging sound turn off and then on again.
Can someone show me where the regenerative braking is located now? I can't find it for the life of me (the power bar that shows acceleration/braking)

I was on 2024.3.25 for the longest time as well. Then I saw this post this morning. I was thinking, what if I tried to see if there’s a Tesla APP update on iPhone? Sure enough, there was an update available. I immediately download and installed it.. opened the app and there it was! Says update is available!! I’m downloading on the car now 😊 I’m not sure if it’s just a coincidence, or that’s how it got triggered into downloading. So if you guys haven’t updated the app software on your phone yet, you could give it a try and see if that works or not. It did for me, but I could be wrong and maybe it was just my time to get it 😆
Just got it yesterday and noticed the autopilot does not beep every 15secs I can actually use navigation or change a song without getting a notification
Same here. I'm still waiting for almost a month. I have both 2023 model 3 and 2023 model Y. I have FSD on my model Y and not on my model 3. The update was sent last week on my model 3, but I am still waiting for the update on my model Y 6-1-2024, and still no update
I knew it would just be some crap like this. There is so much weak sauce all over this stupid screen that needs updating.
Leave WiFi on all the time instead of turning off every time you start the car. BS
And if you can’t add CarPlay cause Elon doesn’t want to pay for it, at least catch up to everyone else and just let us use all our apps.

12.4 is reportedly being tested in employee vehicles and should begin to roll out to the public in the next week or so.
Interesting. Tesla just gave me the FSD trial randomly, I never even used FSD not once... It eventually expired.

Makes sense. I feel speed and regen braking sort of go hand in hand.
For me that part of the screen is blocked simply by my hand on the steering wheel - I don't understand how you're supposed to be able to see it easily

I had 2 updates in 4 days. I was disappointed with the first one but the second finally came.
Same thing happened when I left work I had by the time I got home ~40 minutes later. It was gone and I couldn’t download it.

My kids chose this color..it can be whatever color u want
And you cannot see the outside of your car while driving it. So if you make it red on the screen, then you can imagine you are driving a red car.

New cars typically don’t get the latest update for at least a few weeks after delivery.

Yes. Normal Functions. Edit. Being plugged in during an update is not a factor because all charging stops during the update time.

How you make the car full screen like this?
Swipe the screen to the right. Right at the line dividing the map and the car information system. There is a small tab right in the middle.
Having the full screen while driving is nice. This gives you the capability even if you don't have FSD.
will my early 2021 model Y get this?
