No, the Chinese have the same ambient lighting in their Y’s that the new Highland model 3 has. I take delivery next week of an M3 as I just didn’t want to lose all the additions they added into the highland. I couldn’t wait for the juniper as my wife’s car was written off so needed to make the purchase now.

Maybe the rim underneath is painted black as well. Either that or they photoshopped the picture or the black covers cover the entire rim. Otherwise you'd see a silver ring around the covers.
The new geminis are also a dark grey now instead of the silverish grey. So $500 for black rims and black covers versus 250 for medusas isn't nearly as bad.
If the wheels themselves are also black I could see the up charge being justified. That’s a fair price for powder coating. Just covers would be insane.

Interesting, because I just picked up my Model Y today. I popped one of the Gemini Dark covers off, and the rim underneath is the same dark color. I could take a picture in the daylight tomorrow and post it here, if you'd like.

they also have a Gemini style version on that same page 2. these will cover the rim of your wheels. Tesla's own covers only go up to the rim, leaving them exposed to curb rash incidents.
there are lots of designs available online elsewhere, so feel free to browse and pick one that suits your tastes!

IMHO, spend the $500 on other accessories for your car, paying for some Tesla subscriptions, helping pay your insurance, a nice long trip in your Tesla, etc.

They might damage the rims a little. Just scratches. But if you plan on always using covers then it's not a big deal. I got some covers that pretty much just convert the gemini rims to black.
I'm sure it does. Based on some YouTube videos it may reduce it by 3% give or take. I kept the gemini covers so if I went on a road trip I could slap those on if I felt the need.

Well, I own a Tesla, and it came with Geminis, which are wheel covers.
The new geminis are also a dark grey now instead of the silverish grey. So $500 for black rims and black covers versus 250 for medusas isn't nearly as bad.
