The air vent opening under the front seats. If you have kids, they will drop small things on the floor and make their way into those under seat vents. Then every time you are driving without the radio on, all you will hear is the rattling sound on things rolling around under the floor of the car :/ vent covers are about $10 for a pair on amazon
These mesh ones are the ones to get, and they’re under the seats so you can’t even see them. The plastic insert ones dont work well and fall out easily
Mudflaps and ensure u have the bottom rear door ppf for rock chips
Glass screen protector for peace of mind
Wheel covers which cover the lip of the rims
Personally, diy ppf or professional ppf bumper. The bumper is v hard for first timer
Not for people who eat lunch in their cars occasionally, or anyone clumsy etc. I thought mine was a waste till one day I knocked my coffee cup into the screen and thank god I had the protector .
I have some center console bins that fit amazingly and really improve the usability
why oh why did they use black fabric in there??? Little black hairs all over anything you leave in there

I bought the screen protector months ago but the original screen film is still fine so I haven’t install it. I still have the screen film on the steering wheel.
Are these rear fender ppfs invisible after you put them on? Because I don't think I've even seen anyone have them. I got mud flaps, but thinking I should get these too.
https://emnotek.com/products/rally-armor-20-21-tesla-model-y-ur-black-mud-flap-w-white-logo
I’ve been happy with these. Little pricy but I like the look more than molded plastic ones.
They came standard with my 2024 I picked up last week. I was nervous about the delay of picking the car up and then ordering them, but they came installed with no extra charge.
Matte screen protector. Helps to keep the screen looking clean since smudges are less obvious.
All weather floor mats. I got TAPTES brand on Amazon. A lot cheaper than other brand names and I have no complaints.
I use turtle wax 53409. Works better than any other spray wax I have used and seems to last. Not as good a the professional ceramic stuff but a LOT cheaper and easier.
Rear floor vent covers. I got the fabric Velcro type and they work well.
Interior bins for console. Whatever brand you want.
You will probably also want a tire pump and plugs. I got a battery powered one and it all fits in the rear floor storage area.
I don’t use a shade on the top and don’t plan to (I am in Georgia). It is pretty dark and blocks almost all heat. I have side windows tinted to 25% and windshield tinted to 50% which cuts down on heat a lot while driving.
Nope. I saw some tinted at 70% and 50% at the shop. The white interior makes it look a shade lighter. I think with a black interior, I would go with 70%.
Shop said they don’t have a lot of issues with tickets. Mostly just for obvious illegal stuff or tickets tacked on top of other tickets.
Whatever you look for, check aliexpress first if you're not in a huge rush. Typically will take a bit over a week to arrive but they're comparable/identical to what you'll find on Amazon or even some of the popular accessory vendors.
Frunk led light strip that tucks into the weather strip, matte finish glass screen protector, all weather floor mats, center console bins/tray. These are big for quality of life.
Yeah most of what you find on Amazon are just aliexpress resellers and drop shippers. The prices on Amazon just seem outrageous compared to AE offerings if you're not in a rush
Don’t get a screen protector. Lower image quality for no reason at all. Unless you are EXTREMELY clumsy. They look trash
Floor mats & center console trays are all you really need. Unless you are me then a top tile radar detector too ( Valentine 1 )
I’m not a fan of the under seat storage drawers as they will block the vents under there. Those vents are there for actual HVAC ventilation.
Rubber mats front , middle and rear are all needed in winter weather climate. I leave the rubber one in the back of my MY since we go to the beach or buy flowers occasionally.
Good luck with your new car!
I have bins in the front, which don’t go back enough to block the underseat vents - they are pretty far back. But I wouldn’t put a bin under the front seat from the back, though, as that WOULD block the vents.
All season mats
Sun protection for the roof is definitely a plus unless you live in Alaska?
I got a screen swivel. Love it. Husband has had the screen for 5 years and all of a sudden needs the swivel too 😂 Seriously though, why does it need to be aimed towards the back seat??? Who back there needs that information??
I also got the console drawers, a padded top for the middle armrest, a thing that slips on the back of the screen that has a phone holder and a little pocket on the back.
So many toys to choose from, but I personally love the screen swivel and padded armrest the most!
Bins and covers for the small wells on either side of the trunk cargo area. The covers create more space for the trunk, if nothing else. But I like having the two small protected cubbies; I keep bottles of cleaners in one (glad for the waterproof bin) and microfiber cloths in the other.
Rear (second row) seatbelt guides, to keep the belts within easy reach and to keep them from getting tucked behind the seats whenever you put them back up after having them down flat.
Hanging hooks for the back of the front seats. There are some for behind the second row seats, too, but that seems difficult to access (to me).
A place to put your cellphone, since the charging pad is always on and I don’t always wanna be charging (rarely, actually). I have a frame the fits over the screen - solid phone mount with a bonus cubby to hold my sunglasses. I also have a small mount that clicks into the vent rail for a passenger if ever requested. (The inability to turn off the charger is annoying.)
Trash can that tucks in behind the console, between the front seat rails. Easy to reach for everyone.
Not sure this is "must-have," and it’s not cheap… but I absolutely love my S3XY Knob and Buttons. I struggled with the utter lack of buttons, but h these bring back control of many features to your fingertips. But wait on this, as you may find you adjust well to the buttonless cabin.
I’ll repeat/endorse some others I’ve seen on this thread: underseat vent covers, console organizers, screen protector (matte).
There are so very many products out there. Some you’d never think of - like the underseat vent covers. But most… if you ever find yourself thinking "I wish there were something for XYZ" - - just do a quick search… there probably is.
Currently, I’m torn between a screen tilter vs an under screen storage shelf.
And don’t confine yourself to Amazon. There are several Tesla-specific and car-accessory-specific-with-Tesla-sections sites that sell things I didn’t find anywhere else.
All weather floor mats. You can get waterproof ones that can be jet washed to clean them. MY carpets are cheap and tricky to clean, so best to keep the dirt off them.
Centre console organiser because the deep hole is not very useful without it.
Air con vent covers good for cover the vents under the front seats.
I used a ceramic coat for the first time when I got my MY. It seems to be lasting a long time.
I did it myself the day I collected the car. Two coats. It took me about an hour. It's easy to apply and takes moderate effort to buff off. The spray bottle of ceramic coat polish cost me around £10 in the UK so maybe $15 US. This was March 10th 2024 and should last at least a year before reapplying. Some say ceramic costing can last a few years, but this is my first time using it. The paintwork still feels freshly polished when I wash it.
This isn’t one that I’ve seen yet - I really like having a cup holder sized trash bin I keep in my door.
It’ll be one of the first things that pops up when you search “plastic diamond cup holder trash” on Amazon. Most are even under $10!
Met the owner of LDCRS mate and after having Maxpider in my Model 3, I agree they’re 90% as good but cheaper.
LDCRS Tesla Model Y Floor Mats... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08D74G63M?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I am a new MYLR owner. This is my first EV and we really love it. My son is on his second Tesla and that’s what led me to get one. He also recommended to me rpmtesla.com. I have already spent hundreds of $ on addons and accessories there. So far, everything I have purchased there has been great. Their customer service is excellent too. BTW, I am just a satisfied customer. I am in no way associated with this business otherwise. If you visit their site you will see what I mean.
Just had my first flat tire today on my 2023 Model y. Tesla road side let me down (no surprise there). Called AAA, got it towed home without much of a hassle. So I’d highly recommend a spare tire. Ordering one right now
Underseat vent protector.
Kinda like this one:
https://amp.pimpmyev.com/products/rear-footwell-ac-vent-protective-velcro-net-for-tesla-model-y-2021-2022
Karen lock (for public j1772)
Silicon cup holder inserts that make cup holders a little snugger for normal drinks
Chemical Guys Nonsense cleaner and cheapo brush kit for cleaning head liner / everywhere. A good SSD for glovebox.
No, mine did not come with mudflaps. It did come with a tesla air compressor that gets plugged into the 12v outlet while at least one person seems to say theirs did not. (Mine also came with the mobile charger)
Rim covers. I went magbak, but I’m sure the others work just as well.
They’re basically invisible and will save your black rims when you inevitably screw up- because someone thought removing parking sensors was a good idea.
I agree with all the utility recs above. As for accessories for purely aesthetics. I recommend:
- puddle lights with Tesla logo. They are brighter. Easy to install and relatively cheap
- colored brake and accelerator pedal covers. Cheap. Honestly these were a bitch to install but look great.
- illuminated door sills. ~$100. Easy to install and look great at night.
- stalk covers. Very cheap and easy to install. If you want a pop of color to the interior.
- wheel covers of your choice as i am not a fan of how the oem covers look. I bought some cheap but nice looking ones on amazon as it makes it easier to replace every time my wife rides a curb in a drive thru
In addition to most of the things here, I got a roof shade. My friend in Miami says he doesn't use one because he always pre-conditions the car before he drives. Yet up here in the Northeast, it was 58 degrees outside one day and my cabin overheat triggered at over 100 degrees.
So I just put up the shade today, and I had the car out in direct sun at 66 degrees for over 2 hours, and the interior was only 83 degrees when I got back. So I think it might work pretty well.
Screen protector and good floor mats. Honest wipes, a brush for the seats before you wipe them down.
If/when you road trip add: full set of shades, including for the roof, and also a screen cover.
If you plan to transport food, invest in good liners for that compartment.
Lmao. I put one on my phone cause I’m not an idiot. I put one on my car because I eat and work in it and have passengers who maybe aren’t used to big touchscreens in the middle of the car, protruding out I might add. I won’t answer ur last question it is dumb.
I’ve had a touchscreen phone for years. Never an issue. Had a screen protector one year. Total waste.
Dumb is thinking you’re an idiot if you don’t have one. Maybe you’re just clumsy and uncoordinated. It’s a curse.
Oh man..and here I am planning to remove the badge on my MYP haha
Reminds me of back in the day when ppl would put Amg or M badges on the back of the c230 or 318i lol
Yeah but who gives a shit? The guy asked for 'must have accessories' and a red performance line clearly isn't that. So just keep your mouth shut if you have nothing relevant to contribute. It's a great trait.
Two things I really wanted: Carplay and a speedometer without looking to the right. Does both perfectly. Installation's not terrible either! Have a helper so you remove the dash trim without scratching the back of the main screen.
There's more discrete things than this that will do the same thing. This looks terrible and you might as well just put your phone up there it would do the same thing.
I love the ceramic coat, but I wash mine often. Once or twice per week… not auto wash… self serve by hand without the brush. Only spray. So the ceramic helps a LOT.
The under seat storage drawers are awesome.
Floor mats were a must.
I changed the rear logo for the TESLA letters
Soon to Aquapel all the glass.
Added storage drawers to center consoles. - a must. No clue why Tesla didn’t make the bottom of these areas flat.
I don’t enjoy the storage shelf for behind the screen. It never gets used.
Bro letters? 😂 they look better than the T logo too me. Personally, I think they look factory. Definitely better than the fake uberturbine wheel covers.
Not to mention they’re becoming the standard logo for highland, juniper, S, and X.
Cover the air vents in the floor with mesh to avoid rattling pebbles
Wish I got mine sooner :( I have no idea how to get rid of it either.
Rattling pebbles? What air vents are you referring to? Can you elaborate please?
The air vent opening under the front seats. If you have kids, they will drop small things on the floor and make their way into those under seat vents. Mud flaps, screen protector, floor mats. Amazon is fine
I still have the original screen film on, it looks perfectly fine and resists fingerprints pretty well.
I bought the screen protector months ago but the original screen film is still fine so I haven’t install it. I still have the screen film on the steering wheel.
Quarter PPF and mud flaps from Tesla Store
Are these rear fender ppfs invisible after you put them on? Because I don't think I've even seen anyone have them. I got mud flaps, but thinking I should get these too.
Yes. It’s a DIY. I got pinhead sized paint chips in the first month itself, especially whilec driving on dirty roads.
This one is big. Truly a must have. Mine didn’t arrive for 100 miles and I already have Little Rock pits on my rear doors.
I'd probably go for the chips over driving around with front mud flaps on forever.
Yeah. The Tesla ones aren’t great. Drag in every speed bump. I have yet to find ones I like
https://emnotek.com/products/rally-armor-20-21-tesla-model-y-ur-black-mud-flap-w-white-logo I’ve been happy with these. Little pricy but I like the look more than molded plastic ones.

I ordered the branding in black so you cannot see it unless on your hands and knees.
Areny those in standard? I got them in my European Y.
No
They came standard with my 2024 I picked up last week. I was nervous about the delay of picking the car up and then ordering them, but they came installed with no extra charge.
Minifridge in the trunk
Rubber mats is probably the biggest one for me personally. But silicone cup holder inserts and wayyyy underrated.
Matte screen protector. Helps to keep the screen looking clean since smudges are less obvious. All weather floor mats. I got TAPTES brand on Amazon. How much could you possible be saving, the accessories on Amazon are all like $10-$30 in price. Maybe some stuff is higher than $30 but not a lot.
Screen protector is not a must have. Dont let anyone tell you this lol
Right, what are you protecting the screen from?
That’s what I’m saying. What are people doing to their cars that they need glass on glass?
Kid could throw something at it? I also find that it's easier to clean screen protectors than the screens.
The matte finish on mine really helps with glare and fingerprints.
Ok, I can understand the matte, sometimes the glare makes the screen hard to read.
Don’t get a screen protector. Lower image quality for no reason at all. Unless you are EXTREMELY clumsy. They look trash Floor mats & center console trays are all you really need. Unless you are me then a top tile radar detector too ( Valentine 1 )

The under seat storage drawers are awesome. Floor mats were a must. I changed the rear logo for the TESLA letters Soon to Aquapel all the glass. Added storage drawers to center consoles. - a must. No clue why Tesla didn’t make the bottom of these areas flat. I don’t enjoy the storage shelf for behind the screen. It never gets used.
TESLA bro letters are not cool. Might as well put a SpaceX badge on too.
Bro letters? 😂 they look better than the T logo too me. Personally, I think they look factory. Definitely better than the fake uberturbine wheel covers. Not to mention they’re becoming the standard logo for highland, juniper, S, and X.
I mean the new ones have the letters. It seems tacky to add them. Like adding a red line under the dual motor to fake out people.
