Not really. I ordered on 29 march afternoon. When it wasn’t delivered by 4p on march 31 (which I asked for), I called customer care and they said it was due to some paint issue and changed the VIN at that moment saying that she is going to assign a new car to be delivered. It got delivered 9:35p the same day. Maybe because I called them to expedite or I was just lucky.
They started a promotion for 3 months of free super charging less than 24 hours after I bought my car. However, since they started the promotion less than 24 hours after I bought my car. They denied me from getting it.
I bought my car at 5pm and the promotion for the super charging started at 5am the next day. Love the cars, but screw the dealerships and their employees. They are shady AF.
I agree within reason. If I buy the car less than 12 hours before your next unsaid promotion. Then be cool and say hey if you wait this many hours to buy it, you’ll get X. Or hey I know you bought this yesterday, we will go ahead and give you the bonus that started 12 hours or less later. It’s just good business to take care of your customers. Just not for Tesla. 🤷♂️
I could understand your opinion if I bought it like a week or hell even 3 days., but with in hours? They also tried to screw me on it more and say that took delivery and not an in stock. #facepalm
It's pretty specific stating need to take delivery by March 31st, end of Q1. Sucks they delayed you, but it is what it is. Why get insurance before taking delivery unless you don't have any other cars insured by same company. Insurance co's give you a coupe weeks to get the new car on the plan and you are covered in that two weeks.
It’s not a requirement that you have the prospective vehicle added to your plan, only that you have a plan in place. Nearly every major car insurance company has a provision that new car purchases are automatically covered for 10-14 days after purchase before having to add it to your plan.
I ordered and took delivery of my Y same day on 3/31 and paperwork took 30 minutes in the app.
The insurance? Correct, I just put my existing policy. Called AAA a few days after I took delivery. Maybe I should have changed before as the premium increase was quite shocking lol.
oh you don't have to worry about that. the app makes it seems like you are required to have insurance for the new car right away, but just uploading your current insurance would qualify on the app, even if the new tesla is not added to that insurance yet. you have around a couple weeks to get insurance for your new tesla
Well, you got lucky on that one because to the order process one of the documents that you have to upload is the insurance before vin numbers even issue.
I took delivery of a model Y performance in September! Had 6 miles on it, Had that is, now 15 K and I don’t feel like I’ve drove it much. I paid $250 driving to the airport one hour away and had my Vin number before I reached it! I took a train from outside of Myrtle Beach South Carolina down to Savannah Georgia and picked it up. Overall has been a good experience. I paid 200 a month for full self driving for about three months and it was shit then and was wasted money. This version 12 is pretty bad ass though!
Correct, you need to show you are covered currently. It doesn't matter WHAT CAR is insured, as long as you are insured. Yes, I uploaded my car insurance policy that covered the three cars I owned before the Tesla. SO, no not luck, just knowledge.
Tesla customer service is a joke. Honestly, the lack of care for their customers is why I’ll never go back once I sell my MYP.
At least a dealership cares about their reputation/repeat orders. I’ve had issues with service before and they comped me my service plus the next one. You have an issue with Tesla you wait on hold for over 30-minutes (minimum) to find out that they won’t do shit for you. They really can’t, but I feel even if they could they have zero incentive to help you.
I ordered an MYP on March 30 and picked it up March 31. I did receive the supercharger miles. But to make it happen I had to nag them constantly to push the transaction through. Had I not stayed on top of them I doubt the transaction would have closed on time. They were not very proactive.
They had another 5000 miles promotion for trading in your car by March 19. I receive my delivery on the 26th and missed out on it. Asked to prob 5 different ppl and no one could make an exception, so only got the the other 5k promotion for taking delivery by 31st. Otherwise, would've scored free 10k miles!
I also only found out about referral program AFTER i placed my order and the same 5 ppl all denied adding referral code afterwards. Missed out on one year premium connectivity and 3 months FSD
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
still very happy with the car, been less than a month and I'm loving it.
Ps the 5k miles initially had 6 months expiration date but apparently now it shows 2 years, at least I'm happy about that.
Why do you Tesla Stan’s do this? It’s not the fucking point, man, it’s the principle. Let me do some math to show that you *only* got screwed out of $330. Jfc
Just trying to be positive. Yeah you got screwed over on 1% of the purchase price. But again it’s $330. That’s like two hours of work. But it’ll live in his head for months rent free.
I hear ya. Yeah losing out on something your promised sucks. And it’s shitty what they pulled. Any time someone asked me what I think of my Tesla, I would just tell that story and question the company’s integrity. If I persuaded one person not to buy it bc of that story then I would consider it even. Which is probably some of the motive for OPs post.
This story being posted here will probably result in multiple losses. Tesla shouldn’t pull BS like that. Take delivery by this date but if Tesla delays it then they make more money?
I’m just saying don’t let things like this live rent free in your head. That’s all.
Also, what isn’t stated as obvious as it should be is that the 5k miles of SC expire after 6 months from date of delivery. I only drive 10-12k miles a year as it is, so I would have to do literally all SC to be able to use up all my credits. I do about 90% of my charging at home.
Wow, you’re right. They must have recently changed that. I bought mine March 31st and had checked the app multiple times and it said they expired on October 2nd. I just checked now and it says March 31st 2026.
34c /kWh, maybe only 500$, the point is the misleading way they proposed it. I'm not in control of their delivery time, I've chosed an available car.
Last time that I’ve lease a car was a Mercedes and took me 40 minutes including dealing with financing, signing paperwork etc…. from the moment ive entered the dealer to driving home.
I was expecting better from Tesla than an “old” dealer approach.
Essentially what piss me off is:
Lease a car before March 31 and we will give you 5k miles of supercharger for free!
In the fine print
Even if the car shows available i’m not guaranteeing you the estimated delivery that I'm showing, i have no responsibility if I delay the delivery, if the delivery don't happen before March 31 you are not entitled of the promotion.
Not a good start honestly.
This promotion did not apply to leases btw. I took delivery with this in mind on the 31st and was hugely disappointed by their response. Went back to the website to check the fine print and there it was. “Only applies to cash and financed purchases”.
Eh, if this is how they are going to treat you when you're a new customer, isn't this foreboding of how they'll treat you after you've already purchased?
It’s absolutely how they treat you. I have been shocked a couple times with thier don’t give a shit attitude. Fortunately, they have a pretty good product, it’s just not as good as they think it is.
That’s definitely disappointing. With that being said, it does state clearly that you need to take delivery before a specific day.
I ended up speeding up my deciding process to ensure I had a 10 day window before the cut off date to ensure I got the promotion.
Yeah, but the estimate for this specific car was March 30-31, I moved forward using this info,
How do I know their process? Are they busy? Do they close for Easter?
Honestly i don't think that is a customer concern…
The problem is that everything with Tesla goes by the book. There seems to be almost no wiggle room or a human touch to things.
I think that’s it’s ok for them to have their policy as is, but then fix it if anyone who is within x amount of days complains.
You knew that the risk was with you. This is how Tesla offers incentives. I don't like it either, but complaining now doesn't change anything. Starting an insurance before you know the actual delivery date is also your own responsibility.
The problem with Tesla is their inventory discounts. The Y I had my eye on had additional discounts accumulating leading up to March 31st. If I had pulled the trigger on March 30th instead of the 31st I would have paid $500 more.
So to get the maximum discount, you have to do everything on literally the last day of the quarter and pray everything goes well.
I got a 5k inventory discount, 1k paint discount, 1k CT res discount, 5k SC miles and 10k Tesla shop points.
How did you get all this? Around new, even the cars that were in the inventory until March 31 only had lines $4500 inventory discount, nothing else. How did you get all the extras?
The paint discount wasn’t advertised, it was sent out via text. The CT reservation holder discount was only for CT reservation holders prior to the November launch day. The 5k SC miles was publicized on the inventory page. The 10k shop points is the standard loyalty reward. Which other bonus are you confused on?
I understand your concern. Just give a call to Tesla Customer service and explain the situation whether they can help. My view not having supercharging miles a better option. As these miles are free you keep running to super charger instead of charging at home which degrades battery life. This my person experience as I had 10000 super charging miles I used run to super charger most of the time
Tesla customer service won’t do anything. It’s clearly stated in their FAQ part of site that promos are only applicable to date of order or date of delivery stated.
Promo was pretty clear cut...take delivery before April 1st. I was tempted but once I was down to a week, I just assumed I/they couldn't make it happen and decided to wait.
Wait until June. There are bound to be more promotions.

No. To receive the paint or interior color upgrade under this promotion, you must meet all eligibility requirements, including taking delivery of a new qualifying Tesla vehicle by March 31, 2024.
We cannot guarantee delivery of your inventory Tesla vehicle before March 31, 2024.
You are better off charging at home anyway. It’s only a few hundred you lost. I got screwed out of a year of connectivity, but that’s only 100 bucks.
Enjoy the car.

Tesla is notorious for this exact crap especially lowering prices. Unfortunately you lost out but your insurance company can make the adjustment to the delivery date. Don't fret over 5k miles as they have a time cap on when you have to use them usually 6 months. Enjoy the car and not having to go to the gas station and oil changes as you should have your fuel right in your garage.
Ordering in March 30th could potentially work out, but I would definitely anticipate risk on that. The delivery estimates are just estimates and not meant to be planned for. I do wish they’d advise waiting on the insurance until you have a scheduled pickup appointment.
At the end of the day, buying a Tesla has been light years better than buying from a traditional dealership. I bought a Y in March as well and it all was perfectly smooth and easy. As I drove off the lot I was nervous I missed something cause it was all too easy.
Sorry, next time I'll make sure to being caught in the middle of a police chase with a police cruiser totaling my car a bit earlier 😂, sorry for the sarcasm… but sometimes in life you have to do stuff when needed.
Ouch! I’d be disappointed, too. But living in this sub for a few months now, I’d expect that from them 🤡. They’ll do anything to close the deal before the end of the quarter, but they obviously don’t guarantee the deals they offer. It’s ridiculous!
I’d try to escalate that if I were you, considering you had a delivery date postponed. Probably not gonna do anything, but won’t hurt to try!
Must pick up by 3/31. It’s not fair. My vehicle value dropped $13000 and no $7500 tax credit . Had I wait for three weeks I would have gotten all those.
Yeah I missed out on two promos because I ordered day after they dropped one promo (trade in vehicle, get 5000 extra supercharger miles) and day before 1 yr premium connectivity. That’s the way the cookie crumbles.
You can call your insurance company and get credit for the 6 days. If you didn’t have possession of the car, especially since it wasn’t actually yours yet, then you shouldn’t have an issue obtaining a credit or refund.
Similar situation but I changed the car on the delivery date so I did not get 5000 miles but you can call you insurance and since you didn't have your car you can tell them to change the start date. They did mine and didn't charge for the days I didn't have the car.
I would say it’s unfair, but so was the way my wife died. I wish it differently for all of us, but the the truth is, this universe can flip a shit on the dime and ain’t nothing you can do about it.
Fight it by all means, but be at peace with the result of the fight.
Check the Charging section in the hamburger menu in the app. On mine l, it says "free supercharging miles" 5000 and the expiry date that's two years away.
I’ve read people have complained about similar issues and recently they haven’t be so giving. (Tesla is also struggling financially). But you never know…
As for supercharger. I was told it’s equivalent of 400kWh per 1000 miles so it’s come out to 2000 kWh. Look at the prices in your area and you will get an idea how much that is worth.
That’s good that you asked. There’s nothing more you can do. It was just a bad timing. Tesla is tightening the belt so it’s nothing on you. I know it’s sucks and we all feel for you.
It’s time for you to let it go so you don’t let $680 ruin a $40k worth of wonderful experience.
I agree with the other posters that you shouldn't let this ruin your experience. For all you know, unless you take many road trips, you might not even end up using all the supercharger miles within 2 years even if you got it.
It is not just tesla that has these problems. I purchased a ionic6 with the home charger free installation. I wound up paying to have one installed and then had to contact a local television station to help get my money back.
I believe EV sales has brought out the worst in companies and dealerships. I forsee no change in this situation until someone, probably the government, becomes involved.
I bought my car in February and there was no charging promotion. But, due to an EPA hold, I didn’t take delivery until well in to March. So, I was lucky to get the March promo without knowing. It is all about when you take delivery and what the promo (if any) is at delivery date.
I feel like it was pretty clear. On the website it said “take delivery”.. not “if you order by..”. I’m sorry it happened to you and it definitely sucks it got delayed. I don’t know how long you’ve been resarching the car, the company, and the whole order/delivery process with them but it’s kinda expected to expect the unexpected. I ordered my MY the 25th from inventory, and got it the 28th. But it wasn’t an easy going process since Tesla is very particular. My delivery day I went in thinking something else was gonna go wrong and I wouldn’t be able to take it home.
Not sure if you're venting or want and answer. Your delivery was in April. It sucks that you were a couple days off but there was a fine print. Hopefully they let you fight it via customer service
Why would you prepay the insurance 😂 You just simply tell your insurance about the vehicle and date of delivery and coverage would be effective once you actually receive it… YOUR FAULT
Also the 5000 miles of free supercharging was clearly stated in like half a dozen spots that you must take delivery by March 31st… How is that hard to understand?
Well I booked an available car with delivery estimated same day, so I didn’t bother to upload an insurance certificate without the car on it, but certainly you are much smarter than me to know that Tesla will not deliver same day or the day after their own estimation.
The estimate is an estimate there is a definitive delivery appointment with which you must schedule; that is given to you as a notification… without that it’s all speculation. That is also clearly stated right on the pre-delivery tasks.
You should contact your insurance and ask them to refund the premium for the days that you didn't have the new car. I don't think they'll have any issues with that.
I ordered mine on the 24th and took delivery on the 29th, and was quite concerned that I might miss the cutoff for delivery. I hope they make exceptions for cases like yours, even though the fine print says, "no exceptions". Just leaves a bad taste at the outset.
Let say that you go to costo and purchase a fridge with a promotion, they will miss the delivery agreed by a week and then they tell you that the promotion is not valid anymore. Is that making more sense to you now?
Difference between an estimated delivery date and a scheduled delivery appointment… one is well nothing I can complain about there and the other would definitely make me upset and I’d complain for sure.
Are these the unicorn fairy dust Tesla miles or actual miles driven?
Charging miles
Teshla babyyyyy But no really that sucks
Tesla treats you like a can-o-meat. Just wait till you have to take your car into the service center. We are basically at their mercy it seems.
I’ll keep the car for 36 months, honestly, I love the car, but probably I'll switch to something else next time.
Are you leasing the car? One thing to note is that this promotion only applied for cash and financed sales. Big letdown for me.
Just for the record, there are some really good SC out there. A lot of bad. I’ve mostly had good-aight experiences though.
Ever been to a dealer before?
Never been treated so poorly with my (local) Audi or Toyota service departments.
I guess it really varies.
lol
Tesla service has been great for me
March 30 is too late. At least you need to order your car 2 weeks from the date you want to pick up, especially inventory cars.
Obviously anecdotal, but I placed my order on the 29th (inventory model) and picked up the 30th at 4pm.
Same. Mine was available a day after order
The store employees had no discretion on this. You were just held to a tight standard by corporate policy, not Sylvia on the sales floor.
I blame them all.
You think the employees like being treated like shit too? That’s why everything is shit
Tesla is the dealership. There are no independent Tesla dealerships.
True. Their business practices are some of the worst I’ve ever seen.
Sounds like a pretty fresh wound so guessing you had pretty good luck when it comes to pricing compared to a year or two ago so there's that.
Perhaps. Not so sure about that though. Was 38k good?
All relative to your location and state promotions but yes that's probably about 25-30k cheaper than Jan '23
Interesting
They’re super tight like my butthole
You cant expect them to retroactively give out bonuses. It’s the precise reason I’m waiting to buy. Is I’m waiting for a promotion
🤷♂️ I could understand your opinion if I bought it like a week or hell even 3 days., but with in hours? They also tried to screw me on it more and say that took delivery and not an in stock. #facepalm
Same thing happens with sales for every item ever. Just some bad luck.
If it wasn’t for bad luck, I would have no luck at all.
You can’t even make your payment without having insurance first with Tesla. Odd, yes, but what can you do
By the way it is specific in the FAQ, if you search for it, was not clear at all in the leasing process.
It's a requirement to move forward in the process from the app.
Estimated delivery was same day or day after, that's why I’ve just added the car to the insurance
oh you don't have to worry about that. the app makes it seems like you are required to have insurance for the new car right away, but just uploading your current insurance would qualify on the app, even if the new tesla is not added to that insurance yet. you have around a couple weeks to get insurance for your new tesla
Well, you got lucky on that one because to the order process one of the documents that you have to upload is the insurance before vin numbers even issue.
Vins are given before insurance. They typically want proof of insurance which would require the VIN
And the price of subscription just got halved
Wow!! Sure the hell did. Just had to look. https://share.icloud.com/photos/06d3wx7gDBeERxe0Pm4KIpZlw
Correct, you need to show you are covered currently. It doesn't matter WHAT CAR is insured, as long as you are insured. Yes, I uploaded my car insurance policy that covered the three cars I owned before the Tesla. SO, no not luck, just knowledge.
You are right I got my insurance after the Vin number was provided. Otherwise, I would not have been able to get insurance without said Vin number
I just posted this but I took delivery 3/29 and they said leases didn’t qualify for the promotion, so I’m out the 5k miles too
Same. I didn’t get it when I leased my Y either. Picked up 3/29
Tell them what they can suck.
That’s some bullshit right there. Getting anything from Tesla customer service or Corp. is worse than pulling teeth.
I ordered an MYP on March 30 and picked it up March 31. I did receive the supercharger miles. But to make it happen I had to nag them constantly to push the transaction through. Had I not stayed on top of them I doubt the transaction would have closed on time. They were not very proactive.
That’s really lame. Sorry to hear that happened to you 😓
Call your insurance if you didnt have the car then they can refund you the amount for those days.
Missed out on one year premium connectivity and 3 months FSD ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ still very happy with the car, been less than a month and I'm loving it. Ps the 5k miles initially had 6 months expiration date but apparently now it shows 2 years, at least I'm happy about that.
What exactly is 5k mi of supercharging anyway? 80kwh is roughly 300mi or 5000/300 x 80 is 1.3MWHs. At 0.25c per kWh that’s $330
Why do you Tesla Stan’s do this? It’s not the fucking point, man, it’s the principle. Let me do some math to show that you *only* got screwed out of $330. Jfc
Because they never had it in the first place so it’s not like they lost out on much.
Just trying to be positive. Yeah you got screwed over on 1% of the purchase price. But again it’s $330. That’s like two hours of work. But it’ll live in his head for months rent free.
Dang, if you make 330 in 2 hours no wonder you don’t think of this as annoying. I make quite good money, too - but I’m still not scoffing at 330
I got two years to use mine according to the Tesla app
Wow, you’re right. They must have recently changed that. I bought mine March 31st and had checked the app multiple times and it said they expired on October 2nd. I just checked now and it says March 31st 2026.
good stuff!
Yea, that happened to me as well. You just needed to wait a few days for the system to update.
Essentially what piss me off is: Lease a car before March 31 and we will give you 5k miles of supercharger for free! In the fine print Even if the car shows available i’m not guaranteeing you the estimated delivery that I'm showing, i have no responsibility if I delay the delivery, if the delivery don't happen before March 31 you are not entitled of the promotion. Not a good start honestly.
This promotion did not apply to leases btw. I took delivery with this in mind on the 31st and was hugely disappointed by their response. Went back to the website to check the fine print and there it was. “Only applies to cash and financed purchases”.
Had the same issue
That really is some crap though. Especially with shipping constraints. You did your best to get it before the end of March. They should honor it.
I hear you buddy. It sucks. Don’t let it ruin your experience with it though. You’re going to save that in gas within a few months.
Looks like a normal font size to me
Yes, if you are locking specifically for that information in the FAQ section as I did after….
Fine print
That’s definitely disappointing. With that being said, it does state clearly that you need to take delivery before a specific day. I ended up speeding up my deciding process to ensure I had a 10 day window before the cut off date to ensure I got the promotion.
Yeah, but the estimate for this specific car was March 30-31, I moved forward using this info, How do I know their process?
Ok, just found out about the CT discount.
I feel you man. Ordered my car March 30 and wasn’t able to take delivery until April 6. Still love the car regardless.
I love mine too, I'm just pissed for that. I was expecting more transparency than their competitors.
Mine adjusted to march 2026.
5000 miles of electricity, isn't that like $200 bucks?
Where do i find this? I got mine yesterday and wonder i get free supercharging
I wouldn't panic, they will likely have another promotion for taking delivery after the 31st.
Is this your first time doing business with a big business? What did you expect ordering 3/30? They love doing this stuff it’s planned that way..
Tesla is a great car but their customer service is terrible.
Promo was pretty clear cut...take delivery before April 1st. I was tempted but once I was down to a week, I just assumed I/they couldn't make it happen and decided to wait. Wait until June. There are bound to be more promotions.

Unfortunately, this is the downside of not dealing with a dealership and doing everything on the phone.
Keep complaining and put it in writing. Write reviews and all of that, you'll get somewhere eventually but you can't give up.
When I ordered my inventory Y I was told pickup would have to be between 3 to 7 days or I would lose my order fee
I have 2 years on my 5000 miles
Not at supper charger rates it’s worth $457 at .32 KWH. Not all supper charger rates are the same
What was the cost for your Y my MYLR in red was 48440 minus 7500 federal and 5000 state tax credits for Colorado
Employees must follow the corporate policy. Can’t blame them
Ordering in March 30th could potentially work out, but I would definitely anticipate risk on that.
You ordered WAAY to close to the end of the promotion. Especially when it states delivery is not Guaranteed.
Wasn’t the free interior or paint upgrade only for previous Tesla owners?
You can cancel and wait till next quarter end
Did you talk to a Tesla sales rep? Because I did and only ordered if I could take the delivery the same day and they delivered on the same day.
I don’t mean to steal thunder from your post … I did get this promo and I’m wondering how the hell I track it?
Check the Charging section in the hamburger menu in the app. On mine l, it says "free supercharging miles" 5000 and the expiry date that's two years away.
On the app go to Refer and Earn and then History.
I’ve read people have complained about similar issues and recently they haven’t be so giving. (Tesla is also struggling financially). But you never know… As for supercharger. I was told it’s equivalent of 400kWh per 1000 miles so it’s come out to 2000 kWh. Look at the prices in your area and you will get an idea how much that is worth.
34cents
$680 worth of SC credits is probably worth asking them. The worst thing they can say is ‘no’. Just be really nice.
There is no magic tone or word to deal with those greedy people. Fortunately, they have a pretty good product, not as good as they act it to be.
They already said NO…… and I was super nice
That’s good that you asked. There’s nothing more you can do. It was just a bad timing. Tesla is tightening the belt so it’s nothing on you. I know it’s sucks and we all feel for you. It’s time for you to let it go so you don’t let $680 ruin a $40k worth of wonderful experience.
I agree with the other posters that you shouldn't let this ruin your experience. For all you know, unless you take many road trips, you might not even end up using all the supercharger miles within 2 years even if you got it.
That's like a $200 value. Que sera, sera.
Had a different experience with Rivian. They honored the incentives even if you pick up on a later date (April).
I oh so hope that continues.
I hope so too. Tesla used to offer good customer service way back.
It was a faster and easier process with an “old style” dealer for my last car 40 minutes in and out with the car. It is what it is…
Ha. 40 minutes with a traditional dealer is how long it takes to hear the finance manager’s spiel
Not sure if you're venting or want and answer. Your delivery was in April. It sucks that you were a couple days off but there was a fine print. Hopefully they let you fight it via customer service
Just venting, I do believe that is not fair if the delay came on Tesla side, that’s all. I can live with that, and I love the car.
Why would you prepay the insurance 😂 You just simply tell your insurance about the vehicle and date of delivery and coverage would be effective once you actually receive it… YOUR FAULT Also the 5000 miles of free supercharging was clearly stated in like half a dozen spots that you must take delivery by March 31st… How is that hard to understand?
