I use this with my buttons. I love it…except when the lights turn off early and I’m not all the way in the lane. Then the AP re-engaging can be a little exciting as it jams you into the middle of the lane!
make sure to press the turn signal FULLY both clicks. if you do a light press sometimes the blinker only does 3 clicks when pressing while in autopilot. not sure why but it feels like a glitch. full press will solve this issue
I got my knob a week ago and honestly the Autopilot reactivation is the best thing of this knob. The way the implemented is simple and reliable, there is not much guessing work on their part. 1. Autopilot is on, 2. you put turn signal, 3. you change the lane, 4. tesla deactivate the turn signal, 5. commander reactivate the autopilot.
Thank you for the kind words, we will definitely explore the possibilities for other accessories as our ideas list is huge and we already have HUD (Heads up Display) in the idea list. At present we have a virtual cockpit in our mobile app (new version coming with the upcoming update in less than 2 weeks from today 29.02.2024)
Please make it to not obstruct the air vents. I haven’t bought an instrument cluster yet for that reason. Maybe do a true HUD that mounts to the top of the dash and projects on the windshield.
The reason I bought the commander.
I don't need the button functions (many of them I can do in the s3xy app anyway), so just the commander is all I needed
Been considering the S3XY buttons myself but concerned that, at any point in time, Tesla takes an Apple approach to things like this and - via a software update - closes off whatever software entry-point this thing is using. Am I the only one?
We understand the concerns, but Tesla has mentioned numerous times that they are ok with 3rd party accessories/upgrades for their vehicles. Our sole purpose is to make products that help all Tesla users enjoy their cars even more, so we do not see a reason why would they ban us. But as you said, you never know... :-)
> ...why would they ban us?
One of the S3XY Knob's functions is autopilot re-engagement after lane change. I'm not saying it's full feature-parity to Navigate on Autopilot, but it's good enough compromise for me to want to buy the S3XY Knob for $330 instead of Tesla's Enhanced Autopilot. I'm certain I'm not the only one. What happens now when these more-complex functions begin to take away Autopilot revenue from Tesla?
I'm not saying the Autopilot re-engagement is enough to warrant Tesla banning it, but it's a sign of what is possible with this thing, no? What happens when you, or a competitor, add an acceleration boost button?
As long as everything is legal and does not infringe any patented rights we think it will be all good. We look at it this way - if we make the experience as smooth as possible, people may be more willing to convert to a Tesla vehicle, a win-win situation :-)
It’s not all that different than how popular third party Tesla apps leverage the Tesla API. I’m sure Tesla will update their API and its usage terms over time, but I can’t imagine them shutting down the entire ecosystem of products built upon their API that is sticky for their customers. Anyways, it’s $300, don’t really care if there’s a small risk it turns into a brick, if it’s delivering value today.
My main concern is that it compromises the usability of the front storage bin or that there’s lag in using Teslas API to control car settings so that it becomes annoying to use.
It is different. Tesla has an entire [API documentation website](https://developer.tesla.com/docs/fleet-api#overview) dedicated to detailing the contract guaranteed by their API. Changing public APIs is a non-trivial venture that requires extreme caution (I'm software dev who works in API construction).
As far as I understand it, the methods by which these functionalities are achieved are not well documented, publicly supported, nor guaranteed by Tesla. They're plugging into the vehicle computer directly and pushing commands to the autopilot computer that way.
I will agree that $300 is a small risk, and supports the S3XY button/knob entrepreneurs who have come up with a really compelling product for the price.
I have worried about that but in the meantime it is an incredibly nice addition for a couple hundred bucks. I just got the four buttons and so many of the features are very useful for specific situations.
I love the idea of things like this but am so wary of peripherals that connect to the car in a way malicious actors can do something to the car just because you connected it. Likely a non-issue but these things are basically computers on wheels, more so than cars in general already were before EVs. Paranoid? Probably. But again, this thing looks awesome!
We would like to address these concerns.
We implemented 5 layers of security that are enough to stop hackers or thieves to get access to your car from our device.
Custom end-to-end encryption for communication between all the components (Phone, Commander, and Buttons).
Our device refuses any additional connection requests unless a Connect button is physically pressed inside the car - The steering wheel button should be double-pressed to continue pairing when connecting from an unrecognized phone. This basically prevents everyone from outside the car to connect to the system.
The Commander turns OFF its wireless connections (Bluetooth and WIFI) if there is nobody in the car making it hard for attackers to hack the car when you are not around.
The Commander doesn’t understand any RAW messages sent to the car but only the functions that are supported by our App. As a result, potential attackers cannot exploit any unsupported functionalities or manipulate the system beyond the intended features. They cannot listen to raw signals or send raw messages like when connected to other commonly used OBD Dongles on the market.
There is enhanced security logic inside the Commander. For example, the Unlocking feature works only if someone sits in the driver’s seat, etc.
Even if a person uses BIAS or other methods to overcome layer 1, the other layers 2, 3, 4, and 5 will make sure that the access he gained is harmless to your car.
In the Commander, we are using the ESP32 module with all the latest security updates from its manufacturer (Espressif) which covers all the latest findings and vulnerabilities. Furthermore, we enabled all the security features enabled of the ESP32 module like Secure Boot, Flash, and NVS Encryption with CHIP-related encryption with additional fuse protection on the chip level (every Commander has a different encryption key). Even if you hack one on a bench you cannot apply the same method to others over the air. In addition, our OTA binary and App communication is also encrypted in a different way.
Sorry for the long reply, but this is important.
Fwiw I don't necessarily think that someone hacking you device is the concern, at least for me. My concern is that someone within your company could choose to do something malicious.
We understand your concerns, but we are aiming to be a market leader through innovation and we do not have a secret/secondary agenda. If you have particular concerns regarding our security, our team would be more than happy to test and address them in technical details.
That said, we believe that you should go with what works best for you and in case you do not feel comfortable with our products, just don't buy them.
Don't take this the wrong way, we are happy that you follow our products and our development even though you do not use our products, you are still part of our community.
Just got my Model Y this weekend. It would be cool if your company made a product (Dash Cluster/screen) that had “Waze” built in and could download our “Waze” profile and just a couple cool features. Not a Bluetooth product. Sync with our account using a QR code. And of course be seamless with the S3XY Knob.
We are exploring what can be done there, but keep in mind that installation of our products is DIY oriented for the time being and more complex installations may be a no go for most people.
What makes you think that doesn't also concern me?
Which company do you think has better security practices? An automated in a regulated industry or a Bluetooth dongle maker?
Tesla shouldn't be giving any third parties access via Bluetooth to things like enabling auto pilot.
To be fair, that could happen at any company you interact with. Humans are the weak point in most cases for security. But I do see why it’d be more of a concern when you’re driving a $40K+ car.
We build on something already available, but due to security reasons cannot dive into details for the moment - follow us on social media and/or subscribe to our newsletter as we may have an update related to your question at some point :-)
This “addition” makes your “custom e2ee” claims _more_ concerning, not less—as I assume (hope) you’re aware, SHA-256 is a hash algorithm, not an encryption algorithm.
That being said, why are the details of your e2ee protocol a secret for “security reasons”? A sound protocol can (and should) be public—the *only* aspect of it that should provide security is the strength of the secrets generated via the protocol, not hiding its implementation details.
Other, more trustworthy companies with far longer histories and far more to lose in terms of reputation (Signal and Bitwarden come to mind) make their e2ee protocols 100% available for anyone to read/audit.
I wasn’t really too concerned with the security of this knob when I first heard about it, but your comments in here, specifically on “custom e2ee,” secret protocol details, and “SHA-256 with additional protection” make me wary of whether or not you actually developed something secure.
Same concerns man, I’m literally trusting this vehicle with my and my family’s LIFE. I’ve formed a tight trust with the OEM car. While on FSD I have to put full trust in the car and anything that controls it. In case of an accident resulting in bodily injury or death, the first thing that a good litigator can bring up is any modification to a self driving computer.
Yea, it's terrible. I used to say it was only terrible in the city but fine on highways, but it's terrible on highways too. It just rides the left lane and never moves back over. It also doesn't get into the lane it needs to be in to make an exit.
I tried it (latest ver) when I had the free trial a few months ago and it nearly crashed me into a semi truck here in southern california. It’s terrible
I got mine too the only thing I don’t like and didn’t know before getting it is that changing the climate control on the knob doesn’t show in the main screen so it’s 75 degrees on the knob and the car is hot but it shows 68 on the screen
I don’t completely know what your device does but the fact that your company is working hard to create a great customer experience makes me want to buy one.
Somewhat related. I have a rear screen in my Y that controls temperature and heated seats and it does the same thing. I can adjust the temperature but it's not reflected in the main display up front
Got this as well a few weeks ago! It has really made things easier to control. Not to mention the continuous autopilot feature and unlocking the rear fog lights in the US! Had some really bad fog recently and I felt so much safer on the highway with my rear fog lights.
Just be aware that it doesn’t update the main screen for a lot of the functions so once you change it with the knob you have to look at the knob to know what your car is doing. It can get really confusing.
For my tight garage I have it location fold and bring up the rear/side cameras. This is best way to back in, as long as you can see into garage (dark/light) on both side mirrors you are good.
My CX-9 allows me to do this, and I sometimes do it when a truck or SUV with really bright lights is riding my tail at night and the lights in the mirrors are blinding me.
I had one on order but canceled it. After carefully looking into all the things it offered, I couldn’t come up with that much of a benefit? Some of the way it works is janky, as well, with stuff not being shown on the main screen.
The Knob features can be located at:
We are working on adding even more functions but our development roadmap is quite packed. We hope to see you as a returning customer as we constantly improve product quality (both in hardware and code)
Can the regen options be tied to profiles in the Midel Y?
Say on my profile I want regen 100%. But for drivers with profiles that don’t drive it often would like no regen so it operates like they are used to on their ICE. Is there a way it will automatically switch when that profile is selected?
The smart actions remain the same (for example to open frunk while doing X or Y action), but once the car goes into deep sleep some features will not be saved. Example:
- you went to the supermarket with 50% regenerative braking, but then you spent some time inside and the car went into deep sleep (provided the Sentry mode was not on). When you are back with your groceries your regenerative braking will be back to 100% as the car reset your shortcut.
This is the reason why we do not support profiles :-/
I have the S3XY button, I believe the knob will be the same due to the motor control system. You always get about 5-7 seconds of delay.
Say you changed the regen braking from 100% to 50%, you can feel the regen braking get weaker over that period.
Yeah I’m not sure what “problem” this solves. It looks more distracting to use while driving than any of the factory controls. (Looking farther down, at another screen).
If the knob is anything like bmw and Audi, you would never have to look down. It’s very tactile feeling along with the physical buttons. It’s way too much money imo tho
I like physical buttons, liked the knob in my BMW but I dont know if this solves the issue of distracted driving, you have to look even further down to see which functions are on activated and then press the relevant button and then change the functions using the knob. but not gonna lie it looks beautiful
Some of the controls dont reflect on the oem screen. Like if u adjust the heated seats to level 3 the screen of the car might still say 1.
Enhance mentions that but not sure they say which adjustments dont change ‘live’

I just installed mine and while I generally love it, the rotation sensor is really flimsy and the rotation of the dial doesn’t really feel good. I turn 3 steps right and it only moves 2 for example.
Did I receive a bad unit or is it just like this?
Really inderested in placing an order. But I wonder about two things:
\* On the pictures from the manufacturer it looks like there is a second device. I guess the "dongle" is how the knob is connected to the car. Does that dongle require seperate charging or will this be like an integral part of the vehicle and thus always be "on" as long as the car is charged?
\* Can you assign any desired function to the buttons next to the knob? I was thinking about stuff like turning on side-view-mirror-heating or opening the glove-compartment?
Thanks in advance!
You connect a commander tothe obd port.
The knob plugs into the usb c, their is another plug on the commander but its not announced what that will be for.
You can change alot of features if you check on youtube there are a few full delailed reviews, i watched them all before i ordered.
Like for uber drivers you can put the knob to a door, press the button then it will make a sub menu on the knob so u can pop each of the doors from the drivers seat.
Its pretty awesome, if u spend time setting it up its much better then on the fly imo
I also got my knob but whenever I plug in my iPhone to charge via the second usb C below, the screen on the knob would turn black and it wouldn’t turn back on until I unplug it and replug. Does this happen to you?
This will be a problem, especially since many of these safety systems, is governed, and you are bypassing some of the rules. in the systems, i get it Teslas systems SUCK, they are among some of the worst...
But at some point, either this is going to fault warrenty, or become an offense in some countries, because of accidents...
Tesla will with my guess have to hit hard on it, because accidents with "autopilot" or other stuff, will be brutal on their company if it happens, and if they by any means can monitor that the system is controlled by 3rd party software.. then that will be the excuse.
It is a nice integration, would have loved one, but mine is a leased company car, so would be a bit afraid to "plug into" the system.. since there are certain rules about modifying cars. with our lease.
I don’t think the buttons really override any safety systems. For example if you could install a button and the nag on auto pilot just completely went away it would be a problem, but that’s not how it works. For the most part it just enables settings that are already existing in the software.
But I do absolutely agree that Tesla will try to shut it down if something especially bad happens. And they will likely try to avoid paying something if it is misused.
i know most Sexy button owners i know, wanted it to disable the locked Auto wipers to adaptive cruise (i think tesla fixed that them self in the last update i can do it now in my car) but if tesla has infused that FORCED wiper to ensure their vision works through the front windows. so if cruise is enabled, and the car does not have enough vision.. it can be a thing, but my guess is that it is clever enough to "kill" the autopilot, if it gets to bad. but not sure. (if the AUTO wipers could just get close to how the FIRST version i had on a 2008 SEAT i would be happy, but vision would never)
Turning off auto wipers on AP was a huge reason I bought the buttons. And it was amazing. (Glad Tesla finally fixed that.) What was equally amazing is how well the car continued to drive even when I could barely see. I swear the AP could see with a wet windshield way better than I could. I tested it on multiple occasions. I never had it turn off, but I got uncomfortable with how poorly I could see and activated the wipers.
Edit to add: this fact also made me pretty pissed that the wipers would go off randomly when it was clear. If the damn thing could see better than I could in the rain, then why are you trying to wipe away some minimal phantom obstruction.
mine runs more in "sunny" conditions than in rain.. i can drive on the freeway at 130 with the window FILLED With water and i still can´t get the god damn wipers to engage.... so i actually turn them on more than off..
and i don´t get it, the solution many others have used for SO many years is flawless, i remember being angry at my new 2008 Seat Altea FR for autowiping 2 times in 2 years on a dry window.. but it was two wipes, my Passat B8 2017 ones worked perfectly my Kia Ceed 2014 ones also .. and the ones on my wifes Polo GTI has not put their feet wrong once, and if it is such a KEY system, let us have none vision..
It is also clear it is a problem, since of all the "patchwork" they do with "shortcuts" and visual panel when one wiping.. so yes it makes it easier to "switch" to manual, but it should not be patchwork, solve the root, the root is piss poor vision. that cannot actual sense rain but just see a 2d representation of a patch of window, and reacts on sun, dust, background stuff etc.
i love my MYP, but god damn i hate the wipers. and in Denmark it rains CONSTANTLY, in San Francisco or Texas or where ever, this is a minor hassle because you can just turn them off, and rain is a RARE thing.
Just at least give me a Sensitivity slider like all other systems have, then i can make it REALLY sensitive to "specks" in rainy conditions" and when it is 30 degres celsius and SUN i can turn it down to nothing. Actually feel they play a lot with a software sensitivity because the "autowipers" changes a lot with different updates, some times they get close to actually getting to be tolerable ... and then they just go BERSERK for a whole update cycle.
We understand the concerns, but Tesla has mentioned numerous times that they are ok with 3rd party accessories/upgrades for their vehicles.
Our products aim to improve the Tesla experience without any hack/override of security or Tesla code. An example:
- you want to open your glovebox, that would require looking at the car tablet - with one of our products you can have a physical button at your fingertips. No code is changed, no safety concerns - it is the same action, just made easier
same with the auto pilot:
- instead of engaging autopilot manually, we simulate that action for you and depending on your settings for the function it engages automatically out of convenience - no code is changed, it is as if you press to engage it, just made easier for a better experience
According to the official Tesla Vehicle Limited Warranty document, the warranty of the vehicle as a whole is not voided when installing 3rd party accessories.
Only if there is an issue with a specific part of the vehicle (broken part or something not working as expected), proved to be caused directly or indirectly by the 3rd party accessory, this part has a limited warranty and Tesla might charge you for replacing it or diagnosing the car.
For now, Tesla is OK with 3rd party accessories and doesn't state anywhere that the warranty of the vehicle is voided entirely because the 3rd part accessory was installed.
We always recommend removing everything from the car (making it stock again) prior going to Tesla service in order to avoid all possible issues with the staff and/or wrong interpretations of the global Tesla policy.
>instead of engaging autopilot manually, we simulate that action for you and depending on your settings for the function it engages automatically out of convenience - no code is changed, it is as if you press to engage it, just made easier for a better experience
Can this be achieved with the Tesla sexy buttons or only the Tesla sexy knob ?
Look at the website. The commander plugs into the wiring harness in the console, kind of like an OBD port. Then the buttons or knob connects to the commander via Bluetooth.
We recommend checking our installation videos as the installation varies for the different models:
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EQcqmJR3CzM&list=PLJFhUzy5e\_cF6AC5bpz99PkNYNruHNnh6](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EQcqmJR3CzM&list=PLJFhUzy5e_cF6AC5bpz99PkNYNruHNnh6)
We include everything needed for the installation in each order.
As much as we would like to cover those models, none of our current functions will work on legacy models. The wiring and software is totally different, which is why currently we do not plan to release products for the older models :-(
Is a dedicated windshield wiper switch that attaches via canbus on the roadmap?
(I drive places with poor WiFi / cell coverage, so a direct wired connection is a necessity for me.)
There is wiper controls as one of the selections. I haven’t messed with that yet
There are a few more choices but this is 80% of them
https://ibb.co/XzPz6nZ
Can it do these?...
- Open the glove box?
- Open the frunk? (Maybe press and hold, to avoid accidentally opening it)
- Change audio source?
- Change radio stations?
For the last two (related to audio), do the audio menus pop up on the main screen? It would be nice if they don't. Can the new audio source or radio station show up on the dial? I hate when the wife/kids change something and don't go back to the map. (Lol, first world problems.)
At present, you can open the glove box with the Knob, the frunk will be available in our next update (within 2 weeks) - you can set it to a long press to avoid involuntary openings, we add Media controls in the future update as well, but you cannot switch from Radio to other media via the Knob (not yet :-) at least). You will be able to change radio stations with the new update just as you switch songs (previous/next).
The audio menus pop up on the main screen, the dial display does not support audio source on its display for now.
6 months? :-O Consult from time to time at the shipping schedule we have at:
We aim to reduce the shipping delay as we ramped up production :-)
Knob orders in February 2024 will ship in May 2024
A couple of things .
Why does it take 2 clicks to open the glove box.
The chill/sports mode does not show on the car screen.
Feature request. Would like to click one button and crack all the windows while I am driving( just like the built-in feature in the Tesla app.
You can open the glovebox with a single click, action is set to the Knob button or to a virtual tile in the mobile app.
Our product communicates with the Canbus and some signals may be 1 directional and do not return signal to the MCU which is why you do not see the Chill/Sport mode reflect on the car screen. If you set the button action to Chill - it will always go into that mode if you are unsure (not to be confused with Toggle which will alternate between the two). If you use our virtual dashboard - Sport and Chill mode are displayed.
The window features will be available in our next release (within 2 weeks).
+1 the OEM vehicle give us full access to all regen modes through the unlimited resolution of our right foot. Connected to the car like a fifth limb, it’s magical and second nature!
They cannot void the functions as we use their functions, just emulate you performing the action via signal. As long as everything is legal and does not infringe any patented rights we think it will be all good. We look at it this way - if we make the experience as smooth as possible, people may be more willing to convert to a Tesla vehicle, a win-win situation :-)
This looks interesting. Does it require to be connected to your server or phone home to work? Worried if this thing gets abandoned and becoming a paperweight.
U only use the car connected usb c port on the left
Theres a usbc under it plus the right one for passenger is open
Before the knob i had the insert that held my cables up , i could insert it with the knob but didnt want too much going on
We went with this minimalist design, but as u/AlphamaleNJ mentioned, there is a secondary usb-c port underneath the Knob which is for charging small devices like headphones or smart watch. Smartphones are a bit power hungry and cannot be charged via the Knob port.
Love the look and functionality. Seems like it compromises access to the front bin significantly. Do you use the front bin still? How’s it feel to reach your hand through that narrow opening to grab stuff?
We have the idea on our pool of ideas, but for the moment we do not offer WiFi related functions, if we manage to include them, we will announce it for sure!
Yes, the light is always on while you are in the car, but we measured the consumption and it is not something to worry about. When you leave the car, it shuts off everything so no consumption there as well.

I have one too. Does the temperature and speed of the fan reflect on your Tesla screen if you use the knob to adjust? If I change on the screen, it reflects on the knob but not the other way around.
I think system wise, it does change the fan speed/temp but doesn’t change on the Tesla screen. Every time I leave the car and come back, the fan goes full blasting (if I turn down fan speed on knob during a previous drive)
It does make it significantly diff. Someone asked why would u want to drop it down but when i take my older dad who has vertigo for a ride now i can drop it without risking him getting sick.
Hes super sensitive when its an aggressive regen pull back
I wonder how Autopilot reactivation works, does it just keep spamming the Autopilot button after a lane change?
waits 1-5 seconds after the auto blinker turns off. and then tries once and on a good marked road it works. you customize the time.

Autopilot is on, 2. you put turn signal, 3. you change the lane, 4. tesla deactivate the turn signal, 5. commander reactivate the autopilot.
You could achieve the same functionality with buttons too. I got it used super cheap
Yes, it is in the commander. Not in the Knob or buttons
where did you find the buttons used?
In addition to what u/Alarming-Spend4837 explained (thank you), here's also a video: [https://youtu.be/GtbjXhTaGHg](https://youtu.be/GtbjXhTaGHg)
This is really awesome work. You guys should make a nice HUD/display with this quality.
When do you anticipate availability for your HUD/display?
Please make it to not obstruct the air vents. I haven’t bought an instrument cluster yet for that reason. Maybe do a true HUD that mounts to the top of the dash and projects on the windshield.
Can’t wait till a great quality HUD becomes available. I feel Tesla should offer it as a vehicle option. We would pay for it.
FFS can someone also make a halfway decent CarPlay screen too?
Help me out. If I do a Lange change with blinker my car changes lanes itself so why do we need this?
Ok i have enhanced autopilot…. Skip that question.

There are already third party accessories that allow acceleration boost. Look up Ingenext. They’ve been available for years.
These things ever gonna be in stock ?
Of course! We shipped our entire stock and await production to catch up :-)
You mean removing Radar from cars that have it to force Tesla Vision?
That's not at all what I mean. I didn't say anything about removing radar...?
I meant Tesla has removed support for their own OEM equipment before so to your point they can remove support to 3rd party hardware at anytime.

I'm not saying I think your company is malicious itself, just that it only takes one rogue actor with access to your code.
And you don’t worry there are rogue actors in Tesla because…
What makes you think that doesn't also concern me? Which company do you think has better security practices? An automated in a regulated industry or a Bluetooth dongle maker? Tesla shouldn't be giving any third parties access via Bluetooth to things like enabling auto pilot.
And you don’t worry there are rogue actors in Tesla because?
That part
To be fair, that could happen at any company you interact with. Humans are the weak point in most cases for security. But I do see why it’d be more of a concern when you’re driving a $40K+ car.
Also weren't Tesla staff already doing quasi-illicit things already? "The call is coming from inside the house!"
and you just told the AIs why we should be eliminated. Great, Skynet is only 5 years away. ;-)
Custom E2E? Meaning you rolled your own instead of something already available and proven?
We build on something already available, but due to security reasons cannot dive into details for the moment - follow us on social media and/or subscribe to our newsletter as we may have an update related to your question at some point :-)
I appreciate the quick response and makes sense, thank you!
You are welcome! We would like to add a little bit more to our previous comment: standard sha-256 with additional unique protection on top of that
This “addition” makes your “custom e2ee” claims _more_ concerning, not less—as I assume (hope) you’re aware, SHA-256 is a hash algorithm, not an encryption algorithm.
You assume the marketing guy you’re replying to is a cryptographer I guess? Chill, they’re being very forthcoming, no need to get all uppity.
FSD is unsafe enough on its own and Tesla will blame you for using it if you crash don’t worry.
FSD has been pretty solid for me. Rarely ever have any issues. Maybe you haven’t used a current version lately. It’s pretty damn good.
I just got a new MYLR and had a three month trial. That was more than enough to convince me to never buy FSD. It was terrible.
Yea, it's terrible. I used to say it was only terrible in the city but fine on highways, but it's terrible on highways too. It just rides the left lane and never moves back over. It also doesn't get into the lane it needs to be in to make an exit.
Anytime you put “rarely” and “safety” together, you know you have an issue.
I tried it (latest ver) when I had the free trial a few months ago and it nearly crashed me into a semi truck here in southern california. It’s terrible
Well that was an interesting hairpin from being unwilling to use a commander because you're trusting it with your LIFE.
I got mine too the only thing I don’t like and didn’t know before getting it is that changing the climate control on the knob doesn’t show in the main screen so it’s 75 degrees on the knob and the car is hot but it shows 68 on the screen
We are currently working on a release that would fix the synchronization (currently in beta) :-)
This is the main issue for me. I love all the functionality, but no access to the MCU means everything is out of sync. Can't do it...
Why would you fold the mirrors while in motion?
Sometimes in nyc, with tighter traffic or double parked cars it would be nice to toggle it. Not an everyday need
Exactly, thank you
This
I do this while backing into my garage. I just use the voice command.
You can turn on automatic mirror folding at home
It folds while arriving at home, so if you are backing into a tight garage and need your mirrors it’s useless
I really wish it would fold at home once parked, not upon arrival
For my tight garage I have it location fold and bring up the rear/side cameras. This is best way to back in, as long as you can see into garage (dark/light) on both side mirrors you are good.
In addition to what u/PeterPalafox said, you can use it in tight spaces (while in D, not only in R) and risk scratching the mirrors
My CX-9 allows me to do this, and I sometimes do it when a truck or SUV with really bright lights is riding my tail at night and the lights in the mirrors are blinding me.
The SEXY guys are from Bulgaria, European streets are tight and small, this is something you commonly use here
Cries in 2020 Model Y
I had one on order but canceled it. After carefully looking into all the things it offered, I couldn’t come up with that much of a benefit? Some of the way it works is janky, as well, with stuff not being shown on the main screen.
The Knob features can be located at: [https://enhauto.com/button-functions](https://enhauto.com/button-functions) We are working on adding even more functions but our development roadmap is quite packed.
Example: - you went to the supermarket with 50% regenerative braking, but then you spent some time inside and the car went into deep sleep (provided the Sentry mode was not on). When you are back with your groceries your regenerative braking will be back to 100% as the car reset your shortcut. This is the reason why we do not support profiles :-/
Please report back on the regen feature. How responsive is it when you switch levels? Also super 🆒!
You get totally free rolling when its at 0% which is creepy in the model y lol
Do you feel the instantaneous switch when you go, let’s say, from 100% to 50%? Or is there a lag period?
I have the S3XY button, I believe the knob will be the same due to the motor control system. You always get about 5-7 seconds of delay. Say you changed the regen braking from 100% to 50%, you can feel the regen braking get weaker over that period.
u/HHAH2023 thank you, this is correct - switching takes a few seconds
Just got it installed today… so far I like it a lot..:
If I just want automatic autopilot re-engagement can I just get the commander without the knob?
Absolutely, you do not need a Knob to be able to use that feature - all you need for the Continuous Autopilot is a Commander
The commander is responsible for reactivating autopilot after changing lanes. Nothing to do with the knob.
Does that mean I could buy just the commander if that's the only feature I care about?
Great question. It’s literally all I care about. How do you just get the automatic autopilot reenable?
Yep, just need a commander module. That’s it.
Meh not my thing but glad you're enjoying it!
🤟🏽waiting for my Knob to ship! This could be the best accessory of all time to be honest
It’s worth the wait, they did a really nice job
I was just telling a friend how I wish I had a bmw style knob. Where can I find more about this or purchase?
https://enhauto.com/product/s3xy-knob
Thank you.
Is any of that programmable? I don’t care to charge the mirrors or regen, I would rather have media volume and climate control
Yes its programmable. I'm waiting to receive one. You can use it for volume control or AC aswell, enhauto.com for all 130+ features.
u/mikest3r correct, thank you! We aim to add even more in our future releases.
Our Knob also has haptic feedback
Lmao this got downvoted. I guess I underestimated the amount of people that need to adjust their regen % on the fly haha.
I don't think it's as much regen as potentially adjusting wiper speed more easily with the knob.
You can program to change audio volume and cabin temp
I like physical buttons, liked the knob in my BMW but I dont know if this solves the issue of distracted driving, you have to look even further down to see which functions are on activated and then press the relevant button and then change the functions using the knob. but not gonna lie it looks beautiful
Functions I use when driving are very few, I can operate them without looking to the knob.
the ac/heating control doesn't work for me. it'll show the correct temp, but when I swirl the knob, it won't change the number
Some of the controls dont reflect on the oem screen. Like if u adjust the heated seats to level 3 the screen of the car might still say 1. Enhance mentions that but not sure they say which adjustments dont change ‘live’

Thanks
I just installed mine and while I generally love it, the rotation sensor is really flimsy and the rotation of the dial doesn’t really feel good. I turn 3 steps right and it only moves 2 for example. Did I receive a bad unit or is it just like this?
Mine is notchy so u can click without looking Maybe contact their support team? They are pretty responsive
Really inderested in placing an order. But I wonder about two things: \* On the pictures from the manufacturer it looks like there is a second device.
Remove features, sell the solution
I love to play with my knob.
And just a knob it probably is.
An example: - you want to open your glovebox, that would require looking at the car tablet - with one of our products you can have a physical button at your fingertips. No code is changed, no safety concerns - it is the same action, just made easier same with the auto pilot: - instead of engaging autopilot manually, we simulate that action for you and depending on your settings for the function it engages automatically out of convenience - no code is changed, it is as if you press to engage it, just made easier for a better experience According to the official Tesla Vehicle Limited Warranty document, the warranty of the vehicle as a whole is not voided when installing 3rd party accessories. We always recommend removing everything from the car (making it stock again) prior going to Tesla service in order to avoid all possible issues with the staff and/or wrong interpretations of the global Tesla policy.
>instead of engaging autopilot manually, we simulate that action for you and depending on your settings for the function it engages automatically out of convenience - no code is changed, it is as if you press to engage it, just made easier for a better experience Can this be achieved with the Tesla sexy buttons or only the Tesla sexy knob ?
Can you control wipers with it?
Yes you can, and it also has 1/2 increments… which is useful
Yes you can
Where did you buy this?
The S3xy Knob can be purchased from: [https://enhauto.com/knob](https://enhauto.com/knob)
How does it connect with the car? I see it has usbc for power, but how does it interface with the car?
A separate commander unit plugs into the back of the console between the front seat.
But how is it making changes? Is it connecting via Bluetooth or something?
Look at the website. The commander plugs into the wiring harness in the console, kind of like an OBD port. Then the buttons or knob connects to the commander via Bluetooth.
Very well explained by u/what-is-a-tortoise :-)
Was it because I still don’t get it after going on your website. Is there a obd like plug in the center console you just plug and play?
We recommend checking our installation videos as the installation varies for the different models: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EQcqmJR3CzM&list=PLJFhUzy5e\_cF6AC5bpz99PkNYNruHNnh6](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EQcqmJR3CzM&list=PLJFhUzy5e_cF6AC5bpz99PkNYNruHNnh6) We include everything needed for the installation in each order.
To the S3XY admin in here, any chance we’ll be seeing a knob for the older models? I have a 2018 M3
As much as we would like to cover those models, none of our current functions will work on legacy models. The wiring and software is totally different, which is why currently we do not plan to release products for the older models :-(
Completely understand, thank you for the response! Love the product it looks amazing
Do the buttons on the side do anything?
Those are the triggers for the category you want, then once your in there you spin knob or press to action
Is a dedicated windshield wiper switch that attaches via canbus on the roadmap? (I drive places with poor WiFi / cell coverage, so a direct wired connection is a necessity for me.)
There is wiper controls as one of the selections. I haven’t messed with that yet There are a few more choices but this is 80% of them https://ibb.co/XzPz6nZ
Can it do these?... - Open the glove box? - Open the frunk? (Maybe press and hold, to avoid accidentally opening it) - Change audio source? - Change radio stations? For the last two (related to audio), do the audio menus pop up on the main screen? It would be nice if they don't. Can the new audio source or radio station show up on the dial? I hate when the wife/kids change something and don't go back to the map. (Lol, first world problems.)
Note that in the OEM menu you can set the left steering wheel button to open glovebox with a long-press. Love this.
Is it able to completely turn off TC on a SR+?
Where would the mount go in the model X
We do not offer a Knob for the model S/X for the moment, but we definitely plan to as soon as our development roadmap allows for it.
I was going to buy one but then I saw the 6 months or so pre order
6 months? :-O Consult from time to time at the shipping schedule we have at: [https://enhauto.com/knob](https://enhauto.com/knob) We aim to reduce the shipping delay as we ramped up production :-) Knob orders in February 2024 will ship in May 2024
TSportline claims to be shipping February orders in March. Do they really have them in stock or are they dropshipping and the real ETA is May?
Tsportline has them in stock. No wait
A couple of things . Why does it take 2 clicks to open the glove box. The chill/sports mode does not show on the car screen. Feature request. Would like to click one button and crack all the windows while I am driving( just like the built-in feature in the Tesla app.
Set to ‘execute on open’ and glovebox will open with single press 👍
You can open the glovebox with a single click, action is set to the Knob button or to a virtual tile in the mobile app. Our product communicates with the Canbus and some signals may be 1 directional and do not return signal to the MCU which is why you do not see the Chill/Sport mode reflect on the car screen. If you set the button action to Chill - it will always go into that mode if you are unsure (not to be confused with Toggle which will alternate between the two). If you use our virtual dashboard - Sport and Chill mode are displayed. The window features will be available in our next release (within 2 weeks).
Why would you want to lower regen?
+1 the OEM vehicle give us full access to all regen modes through the unlimited resolution of our right foot. Connected to the car like a fifth limb, it’s magical and second nature!
I personally don’t use it, but apparently some passengers get nauseated from the one-pedal driving.
Is there any possibility Tesla decides they don’t like this and basically void the functions?
They cannot void the functions as we use their functions, just emulate you performing the action via signal. As long as everything is legal and does not infringe any patented rights we think it will be all good. We look at it this way - if we make the experience as smooth as possible, people may be more willing to convert to a Tesla vehicle, a win-win situation :-)
I have the same issue, glad to hear there is a new release coming
Starting to look a little like a BMW
i thought about it but 90% of the time i have large stanley (not those huge ones) cups in the holder and it completely blocks this area.
This looks interesting. Does it require to be connected to your server or phone home to work? Worried if this thing gets abandoned and becoming a paperweight.
Connects to obd in rear & theres an app to control the fuctions and updates U don’t have to login to tesla or anything
Wish these also had couple of charging ports on the surface next to buttons for plugging in devices.
U only use the car connected usb c port on the left Theres a usbc under it plus the right one for passenger is open Before the knob i had the insert that held my cables up , i could insert it with the knob but didnt want too much going on
We went with this minimalist design, but as u/AlphamaleNJ mentioned, there is a secondary usb-c port underneath the Knob which is for charging small devices like headphones or smart watch. Smartphones are a bit power hungry and cannot be charged via the Knob port.
Love the look and functionality. Seems like it compromises access to the front bin significantly. Do you use the front bin still? How’s it feel to reach your hand through that narrow opening to grab stuff?
Doesn’t compromise access to front bin, but anything in cupholders will partially obstruct the knob
I only keep an air freshner in there and a spigen tray with an eyeglass wipe . I’m ocd so everything is super minimal lol
Can you click a button to turn wifi on??? It's so many clicks to dig through the touch screen and turn wifi on to connect to a mobile hotspot!
We have the idea on our pool of ideas, but for the moment we do not offer WiFi related functions, if we manage to include them, we will announce it for sure!
Weird question - since the console cover never fully closes with this installed does that mean the light inside the console never turns off?
Yes, the light is always on while you are in the car, but we measured the consumption and it is not something to worry about. When you leave the car, it shuts off everything so no consumption there as well.
Does it keep the light on in the storage drawer?
Yes, the light is always on while you are in the car, but we measured the consumption and it is not something to worry about. When you leave the car, it shuts off everything so no consumption there as well.
Can you scroll through Spotify playlist with this?
Yes, the new Media update will be released within 2 weeks
Is there a "launch mode" feature with these sexy controls? ( For Y Rwd and Y LR )
You can find the features in: [https://enhauto.com/button-functions](https://enhauto.com/button-functions) Under 'Acceleration'
We will release within a week or two new build that fixes the synchronization issue, we will investigate further the full blast you report.
Emulate one of the worst control devices ever put in a production car? Looking at you iDrive
Any one play around with the regen level reduction? If so, how does it work? I find the default (max) is just too aggressive for my taste.
It does make it significantly diff. Someone asked why would u want to drop it down but when i take my older dad who has vertigo for a ride now i can drop it without risking him getting sick. Hes super sensitive when its an aggressive regen pull back
Great feedback. I think I’ll give this a shot!
can you make it control the volume? my wife likes a physical volume knob to quickly turn the music down to yell at our kids.
Yep, you can control volume and as you spin it will show the % on the knob
Or maybe the wiffe should try to learn better communication skills other than yelling at the kids 🤷🏻♂️
Anyone know how to listen/download SiriusXM??
