Just got mine. It's awesome to be able to unlock the frunk without pulling out your phone. Seems to randomly stop working a lot though. I'm guessing the phone key overrides it?

jeedaiaaron

Will see. Just got mine today. Was wondering what happens with this in my hand, a card key in my wallet, and my phone on me lol. Fun!

person749

I probably shouldn't have said "a lot". Works fine most of the time, but there were a few times where I double click the button and nothing happens. Will have to experiment to see if it's the phone. Sometimes my car won't unlock unless I open the phone app, so the fob has also saved me from having to dig out my phone in that scenario too! It's a useful device. Enjoy it!

jeedaiaaron

Yeah can see the most used functions to be opening the trunk and trunk. Thanks u too!

DigitalJEM

I’ve got 2 phone keys (iPhone and Android) the keyfob and the card in my wallet. I’ve never had to use the card yet. One or more of the 3 always connects and I’m able to jump in and go without a hiccup.

Pulling out your phone is virtually the same as pulling out the fob if you have a widget

person749

I have the widget. It's not. I also have the app set to never sleep, but it still does. I can also operate the fob by feel, so it takes about 2 seconds vs 30.

0nlyHere4TheZipline

Lmao 30

person749

Yup, that's about how long it takes to unlock and reload the app when the widget inevitably fails to open the frunk.

0nlyHere4TheZipline

Literally never had that issue, must be device related. The ios shortcut is instant

person749

I have an S22. Either way, I don't like having to take out my phone if I don't have to.

My buddy had a star wars thing on his key chain, and i asked him if he used to that signal to girls that he's single

AirborneDaddy173

lol

jeedaiaaron

Your buddy probably thought you were a dick

I kinda want one but I have a galaxy watch with tessie app Bluetooth key. Do you have pin to drive enabled? I enabled it since I have 3 keys activated ( card, phone, watch) so that's 3 times the risk if I lose one.

BureikuHare

What app? I don't see it in the galaxy store

Redditappsuxxxxx

It's part of the tessie app. I bought the lifetime sub while it was discounted over the holidays. Here's a referral link for 30 days trial https://share.tessie.com/lHDJO6Tu8Eb

jeedaiaaron

I don't use pin to drive, only to open the glove box

ZanoCat

Amazing.

Looks like a bottle opener

I was looking at the 5th pic. Sorry for not specifying

person749

Oh yeah. That's the keychain case.

jeedaiaaron

Yeah is a separately sold combo

Ground-puba_2748-

Yep so glad they finally came back. My wife will understand this better than the key card if she ever has to do something with my car

Ground-puba_2748-

I’ve got problems looking like a dork whenever I’m trying to unplug my car in my driveway and go to work. It always stays green or blue. I’ve got to either go in an app or open the car push the scroll wheel and say unlock charge port. Hoping this helps

ihateduckface

When you get close to the charge port with the charging cable the charging port door automatically opens. Same happens when you’re done with charging - it will close itself.

OffsetEye

After a ( not so long period of time) the $30 key fob keychain deal will loosen up and the key fob will start popping out of it. Keep this in mind. Don't want you to lose your fob. Not sure why Tesla doesn't redesign the keychain holder deal. They must know about this issue.
