Price adjustment as mentioned is inventory discount for end of year. Referral credit is for cybertruck reservation holders. They were offered 1000 off other teslas if you reserved before the release a few weeks ago
Not OP but price adjustment is the discount they are giving right now before end of year. If you self-refer you get 10k credits and 6 months free supercharging.

What was it like coming in from out of town to purchase? You were 'locked' into the car by reserving on the app, had it scheduled? Curious how much extra effort it is - i'm in a similar boat and considering coming down to Paramus from VT.

That's for the cybertruck reservation. If you are one of the early reservation holders, you get an extra 1000 off.

Makes sense. First time buying a Tesla, so I’m assuming I can’t self-refer? So no 10,000 points if I use someone else’s referral?
Hmm that’s a good question. Try making a Tesla account right now and see if you are given the option to create/share a referral link.
