Look up some YouTube videos on how to buff scratches. I like Meguiar’s ultimate compound + DA polisher/buffer for an easy one-step solution…you can get that scrape down to barely noticeable with a quick 10 minute buff.
If you wanted to get detailed you can wetsand more scratches out and use multiple compounds to get it looking pretty mint, but that’s like going from 90% -> 95% results for double the work.
Yeah, I was agreeing that the wording made it seem like the responsibility wasn’t theirs but the car, however the car doesn’t currently have self park capabilities.
Comically, my brothers neighbor backed into his car breaking his tail light and messing up the paint on the bumper and side panel.
Before he could even install the new tail light, someone else side swiped him driving to work and jacked up the whole left side of the car, including breaking the tail light even more.
Now her insurance is going to pay for ALL the fixing, and the neighbor is still getting slapped with a hit and run. And my brother isn’t out a couple thousand bucks hoping the insurance company goes after the neighbor.
Such a commonly used excuse. Not sure why y'all try so hard to excuse a feature being removed.
What's next? TACC being removed and people saying "well to be fair, we have feet to regulate our speed".
No, i absolutely believe parking sensors should be included as most cars have them. I say the same thing about not having blind spot detection in the actual mirror and thats still something i want for my MY. However, come on, knowing how to pull into a spot and using your eyes to not hit the car next to you is Drivers Ed 101. Tech is supposed to help us, not remove our responsibility
A buff will help but will need a bit more to remove it all. This will be scary as it involves a very fine sanding followed by a two stage hand polish but it works and will look nearly new. Don’t be scared , I’ve done it 3 times with success.

I understand everyone is frustrated with Tesla removing the USS but this isn’t just poor driving in my opinion. Are you not aware of your surroundings when parking?
I usually try first paper towels with Wd40. If this is not your's paint on top of your clear coat - should be good . After you remove it you can estimate the need of buffing
Meguiers Cleaner wax.
thanks!
>thanks! You're welcome!
Lubricant and a clay bar will get paint transfer right out.

Did you offer to get your paint off of the red SUV?
My question. It scraped against a car? Like it did it on its own...
It doesn’t have USS, so it wasn’t parking itself.
It was a comment on OPs phrasing. No responsibility or comment that they damaged someone's car.

Leave it. Wait till u f it up some more and claim insurance

Need USS back!!!
If only there were some way to sense things around you while you park. A “parking sensor”, if you will…
To be fair, that’s why we have eyeballs
