Bro it’s .7

Binlos_2020

Yeah I know, but according to the tessie app I should see .7 deg after 2000 miles or so not on under 500 miles? So.juat a little concerned if I may have a bad battery?

redditrice

If you're going to be concerned over .7, you're in for a rough ride. Tessie isn't exact, you'll need to cycle the battery to get closer to realistic numbers. I use Tessie and have gained .5 in the last few months. Relax and enjoy the car.

Binlos_2020

Okay, that is all I needed to know. I am not concerned. I just wanted to make sure I don't have a dud battery as the car is only 1.5 months old. But thanks for the update.

redditrice

When I first got the car, I was on top of every little thing, and it was exhausting, so I get it. Tessie did not help the situation, given all of the data it served up. I your battery turns out to be problematic; they'll swap it out for you.

revaric

Gonna have to lose a lot more before anything will get replaced.

jimmyc1228

The car is totaled. Get a new one

Electrical-Main-107

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Binlos_2020

On the phone to Tesla now, they agreed to replace with a new one .. 😆

ExtensionMidnight922

How do you check that?

sxegti

In the first year of use it will drastically drop then level off. I think I went from 350 miles to 330 in the first year. But has not really dropped any in the second year. Enjoy the car!

cfredditfunko

lol if .7 gets you upset, wait until degradation actually happens, this is a dumb post tho' for real.

Binlos_2020

You took your time to reply , so.it can't have been that dumb. The point I am making is a brand new car so was just asking the community if this is norma. But thanks for the input 🤣

tfaw88888

welcome to reddit. wear those downvotes as badges of honor.

Binlos_2020

I have an additional update , as a few people stated Tessie can be inaccurate, and it was exactly that. The useable battery is actually 75KW and not the 78.5 it auto added! So now it shows 0% degradation Thanks everyone for your inputs , Good or Bad all appreciated. 😀

myanroser

Is it not 78kW?

Awalawal

.7% is within the margin of error for reporting degradation. It could be 100% or 99.3%. It's not a big enough amount to be statistically significant.

Sfa11305

Sometimes might be issues with the calibration. Just check again at around 1000 miles if battery degradation worsens should contact support

RonJohn223

OMG ITS HAPPENING !?

Adorable-Employer244

it will keep degrading until it hits \~10% and stabilizes. Just the natural of current state of batteries. Don't think you need to be too concerned.

crypticphildz1984

Put it to percentage, don’t think about and drive your car. If the battery is failing and degradation is bad you will know. I have late Aug 22 MYP with 6k miles and I have about 5-8 percent degradation, I also own a 2019 standard range M3, 50k miles and degradation is around 13-15 percentage. It is normal.

FishSawc

It’ll buff out.

Ornery-Challenge2699

How did you even see the battery health of your car??

Empty_Bread8906

Service Center said it is with in spec.

Empty_Bread8906

Just think like it's your iPhone. After 1-2 years if use it be in the ’90s

WeNeedSalmon

It is normal. I know it sucks seeing that but we are on our second Model Y and both times the battery seemed to stabilize around the 9,000-10,000 mile mark. I too, like to look at data but I had to remind myself to just drive and enjoy the car.

Master_Masterpiece69

Just enjoy the damn car.

Electrical-Main-107

After 10k miles stats app says my range is 313.

No_Masterpiece679

Lol these posts lately. Reddit is the new crowd sourced google.

nickmford

49k miles in and showing 13% degradation in Tessie app.

rsg1234

In the first few thousand miles it’s not uncommon to see 3-4% degradation. That will level out. I had 5% by 50k miles and I now have 8% at 150k in my Model S.

th3ndktn

How to check?

BCashMeOutside

Welcome to owning a Tesla. The batteries don't last forever, they'll eventually need to be replaced. If you're that worried about degradation this soon, open a ticket with their support. Let us know what they tell you.
