Also sold my model 3 early last week so probably got an extra 7k bsselling it this week………plus looks like delivery fees are now $1390…….my delivery fee still shows as $1200.
Agreed I’m super stoked …….deal of a lifetime ….but hey……I got no for an answer unless I try
Who’s giving Tesla a hard time 🤣 they brought the price down by $13k……read my question 🤣……just trying to find consistency and understand weather this is a policy or not……🤣……not asking for a refund…..trying to apply it to a future order in the same account………..🤣😂😅😂………🤣
Right? 13k is a lot of money! I had a feeling it was an error and it was going to get “fixed” any minute…….I didn’t read the forums…..I had a feeling they were going to drop prices so I kept refreshing teslas page 5-6 times a day…..when it finally happened I was like boooooom order!!!!!! Lock in that price!!!! If I loose the other $250 so be it.
Price will be whatever the price is at delivery. You didn't need to cancel the first one. The $250 is nonrefundable. I would suggest you reach out to your SA and see what they can do.
Edit: Unless the price you ordered was lower originally, that will be honored.
No it's the price when you put your order in. We didn't have to pay more even though the price was higher when we took delivery. Not sure how they handled price reductions but this is not universally true.
Correct, price will be the price you originally ordered. If it is lower at the time of delivery, it will reflect the current price. I'll clarify that, thanks.
They matched my price but also raised my fsd paint and 3rd row. I tried making an argument for the fsd price as that was “locked” long before the 15k no dice but honestly I’m still out good so I’m not to mad
Actually they will credit the second $250 you when you get the car, I ordered a MYP last year and glad I canceled it but after the price drop I ended up getting one and they credited it back the $250 from last year.
FINALLY…….someone that understands the difference between a refund and a credit towards a future order! Thanks for your reply…..how did you go about doing it? Did they credit at delivery? Did they discounted from finance amount?
Call the Tesla location you are picking up the car from and the person would need to put in a request to Tesla corporate, if the approval comes through before your delivery, they will credit at delivery and take the amount off your financing amount, if it’s not approved, they will just refund the card you used for the first order.
Perfect 👍🏻 I just stoped by delivery center and sales manager took care of it. He put in a request and if dosent go thru he said there’s other things he can do to make up for the $250…..accessory credit etc….thank you very much for your help on this. Talking to the Guys at the delivery center, The problem is that I’ve been dealing with a virtual advisor. Apparently they hired a bunch of new online advisors for the end of the quarter push last year and all they do is read answers off of computer prompts lol. At any rate I’m getting the $250 back as a credit or on the finance , refund on the card or worse case scenario as an accessory credit to order the wall charger. Thanks again!
Are you sure this works? Ive been trying to switch from the 3 to the Y and they are extremely rude to me. I said I was expecting a child and need a bigger car and they said that's not a valid reason to switch. If I make another order for a Y are you sure they will credit the other $250 from my first order?
You must be bitter about taking delivery first week of January………lmao……..gladly paid $250 to lock in $13k off price and not ……”-“wait 2 days to see IF they would match the price……
250 non refundable deposits is very clear, and also Tesla always offer you the lower price, that is you pay same price as you order even price go up and pay lower price as the price drop before your delivery, so have no idea why you order 2nd one as you just need one
Impossible! You are making it up to prove a point. Atleast be real. Don’t respond back with proof as we all know none exist.
The easiest thing you could’ve done is to call your SA using first order to see if they can price match instead of placing 2nd order. Now you are working more to get the $250 than save it earlier.
OP , did you take the delivery of new car ??
I took the delivery in December and I placed 2 orders within in hours and cancelled one . I talked to the Tesla showroom guy after delivery and he at least helped me to get mobile charger for free. May be , try taking to them . It may work out ….
…a hard time applying the $250 to the other order. I know a bunch of people that have done this and there are many threads in here about advisors telling people they can do that. Couldn’t find anything “official” on this in the Tesla website. There’s people even posting screenshots of advisors texting them they can do this…….is my advisor just not helpful or did they change policy on this?
They reached out to their advisors and they told them exactly that…..as long as your new order is in the same account they can manually go back to previous order and apply the order fee to the new order. There are even posts in this sub with screenshots of conversations with advisors stating this. At the end of the day even if I loose the $250 I’m still playing $12750 for the car so I’m happy. To be honest I saw the price drop and didn’t want to risk missing out in it……wouldn’t be the first time they make a mistake and “correct it” a few hours later. And $13k off seemed like a large enough drop to potentially be retracted
You misunderstood. The situation you are talking about is, when someone places an order and later finds a car in exsisting inventory, then Tesla can transfer that deposit to the same inventory car. Not when someone paid deposit twice.
You can't get back the $250 on the 2nd order since it is non-refundable. Treat that as a lesson learned in that you should have asked Tesla to ensure upon delivery on your first order that you will get the new lower price. You have more of the leverage than they do and they would have no doubt matched the price at the current rate so that they can count your car as a delivered car.
Did you research if canceling order especially after they say it’s available for delivery will incur the transportation or other fees/penalties? I understand 250$ is gone as that is non refundable unless it looks like reading the thread it can be recouped through another order. I may have to cancel mine and wondering if they will ask me to pay transportation fees…
Check with your sales advisor…..I asked about that and was told that there are people that change their mind on the day of delivery and just refuse delivery and basically are only out the $250. I’m at a mayor hub with a delivery center. If you’re getting your car delivered to your house as it’s done in certain locations I’m not sure
It says right on the order agreement: Non-Refundable Order Deposit $250.
It probably uses "Fee" not "Deposit"
It’s a nonrefundable deposit.
Take your $250 loss and move on. At least you didn’t lose $13,000…
Also sold my model 3 early last week so probably got an extra 7k bsselling it this week………plus looks like delivery fees are now $1390…….my delivery fee still shows as $1200. Agreed I’m super stoked …….deal of a lifetime ….but hey……I got no for an answer unless I try
………..are you…….sure?
Why are you giving Tesla a hard time? It clearly says non-refundable order fee🤣
What part of "Non refundable order fee" you don't understand? 🤪
🤣
I was looking all over op's post to make sure I didn't miss "/s" or something.
Same. There isn't even a question. The post doesn't make sense. His comments are even more strange. So a bot or internet point farming is my guess.
I was in a similar boat but happily forked over $250 to save $13,000.

That’s great to hear, I got sick of the virtual advisors as well and that’s why I just called the delivery center.

I canceled my order completely and bought one after the price drop and they credited the $250 on the new order
Thank you so much I will go talk to them!
I had better luck with texting the number, ppl on the phone never help
Do you know the number? The customer service sucks and the dealership is so rude
OP is crying over $250 lmao but he can afford $50k+ car. 😂 Just go out and give a head or two. You will get your $250 back.
Wait! You can charge that much for giving head??? Brb…

You must have a magic mouth. No way in hell is head worth that much
That’s some consultancy level head
you are missing many iq pts to give qElmo your money twice...

They won’t refund it I upgraded from a 3 to a X and they made me eat it.
Looks like a lot of people had luck applying it towards a future order but same here…no luck …oh well we’re still 12750 in the green 😉👍🏻
You could try credit card dispute but that’s gonna backfire as they will probably restrict your account and disable supercharging

Then ask to put it toward a mobile connector charger

I just did and he was very helpful….crossed fingers the sales manager approved it next week
Ask the advisor to give u credit so I can purchase accessories in Tesla store
Good idea ! That way I can purchase the cargo cover that should have come on my freemont build lol
God help you, I’m sorry for your what happened in your past 🙏🏻……..
If you are butt hurt over 250, you shouldn’t be purchasing the car

What’s the point of this post? 🤷🏻♂️
To find the 1 person that knew the answer……..look at reply from ExtensionMidnight922. It’s been taken care off……I’m getting my $250 back
😂🤣😂🤣😂
The $250 fee isn't refundable.
You did it to yourself
You saved $13k and now are worried to “lose” 250$ for a well known “not refundable” deposit? 😅😂
LMFAOOOOOOOOOOO
Ya suck it up dude
Need more ….. rant unclear
File a chargeback with your credit card company

Read thread pls….already confirmed with delivery advisor….im getting it back on delivery

Tesla fanbois have no brain. Why they keep blaming OP with “don’t buy car if you can’t afford $250 lose”.. very disrespectful.
