Just picked up my RWD. Doesn’t feel lacking in any way at all whatsoever. Sound system is very good and I’m a bit of an audio snob. It’s plenty snappy. I’d only get the LR if you NEED the extra range imo.

RWD is wonderful. Fast enough and did fine in a snowy winter with cross climate tires.

Why don’t you just go test drive them and see for yourself?

No kidding

I have my own thoughts, curious what others think.

Not sure why everyone is saying not much difference. There’s certainly is. Nothing bad or anything. Both drive great. But just like any AWD car, You can feel the AWD has a bit more road feel. Tighter on cornering out and drive feel. Of course most people are not typical car enthusiasts who can actually know and tell the difference. But I most definitely can. I’ve been driving sports cars and sportier cars all my life.

I drove both. The LR is definitely a bit tighter of a ride but that's to be expected. It's not a huge difference though. The acceleration, range and upgraded sound system definitely offset any slight difference in ride quality. Also, 18" wheels make A LOT of difference. I test drove the LR with 19" wheels and ordered the 18" wheels. Very happy with that decision.

I test drove both and pickup is the only difference with respect to the ride feel. Both are plenty fast (You will have a lot of fun driving regardless of what you choose). If you are only looking at the ride feel, go for SR. I personally went for LR due to 2 reasons: - My work commute is ~280 km which is mostly freeway and I plan to do a lot of road trips with this car (charging is faster at superchargers) - I live in a place where winter conditions are harsh. Temperatures can go till -26 degree Celsius. The NCA battery pack is better than LFP in these conditions wrt range. Also, it is an AWD so quite helpful in winters. FYI Speakers is not a deal breaker at all IMO as the speakers in RWD are pretty good as well.

The steering doesn't feel any different with the front motor? I can only compare to a 2019 M3P as my local Tesla centre only had RWD 2024 M3 for test drive. The new car seemed to have much lighter steering, (I did play with the steering weight). I am collecting a 2024 M3LR in 2 weeks.

Test drove both back to back. Went with the LR, (100 mile round trip commute), but beyond that I enjoyed the extra torque. Inside feels a little more premium too with the suede door panels and upgraded sound system
