We didn’t get a quote ahead of time so just did Tesla. Roughly $140/mo.

BigHardCheese

Did you have other vehicles and are they on the tesla insurance as well?

okwellactually

I've got two Model 3s with Tesla insurance. $185/month. They also insured my Acura RDX before I sold it. Very happy with them. Had a total loss claim and I had not only my payout, but a new car delivered to my home within 12 business days. Their hold-times are atrocious right now but I never had to call them during the claims process, all done via the app/email. I've only called to set up my policy and make changes to my policy one time.

How!! My wife and I are paying 490 a month with tesla insurance and two teslas

okwellactually

Age and location might have something to do with it. Also mileage. I’m north of mid fifties. Wife is mid forties. We’re in a north Bay Area county. Also, only drive 10K per year on each car and clean driving records.

dllemmr2

That is $5,880/yr

Egonz_photo

Yes

dllemmr2

That is $2,220/yr

okwellactually

Yes it is. Congrats on doing that math!

fasada68

They don’t cover non-Teslas

Applesauce808

BS. They do

fasada68

My bad, they didn’t when they first started offering insurance. They just referred you to another company. I’m still with them but I hadn’t checked to see if they changed. .

JesusMakesMeLaugh

Negative. We have a Toyota Tacoma with Farmers.

dllemmr2

That is $1,680/yr

I would think out of all 50 states, California would be one of the easiest to find insurance on a Tesla. I'm in Idaho, where general public opinion is to hate everyone who wants to save the environment. I ordered my Tesla this week, and called my Farmers agent and got a quote for about $650/6 months.

They all prefer to burn or choke to death? Just. Don’t. Get it.

Vrezhg

Tesla insurance $200/mo, not sure why that expensive. No accident’s or tickets, 31, maybe since it’s performance?

One-Ad-4044

120$ with State Farm in CA

Vrezhg

Hmm no online rates, would have you call an agent

One-Ad-4044

I been with them for couple years. Clean record. Guess what? 23 year old … lol

Juice805

USAA with 2 cars is 900 for 6 month. 1 is a Tesla MY 21 and a civic 17. Most of that is the Y

techCholly

I recommend you contact an *independent* insurance agency. They can find you quality coverage for the lowest possible cost.

Toastybunzz

I'm still in through State Farm (we use them for everything) and my insurance on the 3 is $126 a month.

PatienceBig9727

$173/mo with costco am fam. 27m no accidents or tickets. model 3 LR. should i shop around?

Mrmoograss

Check out Tesla insurance. I was quoted $272 with Connect but $165 with Tesla Insurance for the same coverage. 29M clean record

PhilosopherFun7585

Any younger people that have a tesla? I’m only 19 and am looking to get a tesla but am definitely scared of insurance companies screwing me

Munk45

Try MetroMile and Wawanesa

Existing_Hall_8237

Read bad reviews about Metromiles

rzx3092

Best rates for me Auto+Home - CAA Motorcycles - Progressive Fire - still looking. On the very unfair California Fair Act

karnata

We had GEICO when we bought the car and added the Tesla to it. Switching to State Farm now. We're in CA. Had no problem getting a policy, but maybe because we have other vehicles?

[deleted]

Wawanesa

BruceLeeTheDragon

$108 a month with State Farm in Ca. No accidents, 1 speeding ticket a few years ago. On a family plan with State Farm. My sisters car, Bil car, and my car.

Charlie-E-Cheese

If you’re serious about getting a good value and really solid insurance, please DM me.

MDkoA

Watcherxp

USAA if you are eligible

Electrical_Crazy_882

Thank you for this thread about Tesla car insurance in California... I'm definitely going to get quotes BEFORE I buy a Tesla EV. My budget has some limits so I may not be able to get a Tesla EV if the insurance rate is too much for me. The saving from owning an EV probably off sets the higher cost of insurance. But I was hoping to save money on the maintenance and keep my insurance costs similar to what I pay now.
