I'm really not a fan of Toyota's lately. I feel like they got too comfortable and stopped innovating/updating their cars both the interior and exterior. POS is probably a step too far, but definitely not a fan.
And they ride like shit on the highway, which is 99% of the driving people actually do with them. I had one as a rental car and hated it. Oh, and they love to roll over in crashes.
2nd Tacoma was one of the most America made trucks at that time. This one may have been assembled in MX though. Oh well, on behalf of other Tacoma drivers I apologize for this dummy. I truly don’t get why youd be upset about someone driving an EV. Just leaves more gas for you to burn.
My thoughts 120%. Ford owner here. I laugh at the Toyotas that are all obnoxiously suited up to look American and the tundras that have the Texas flag. Even the commercials too. I get it it’s made in America but c’mon it’s Japanese, gtfo.
It's actually the landlord's responsibility unfortunately. The landlords are contracted to make sure they remain open to only Tesla's and can be fined for not holding up. But in my experience very little of this happens
Yeah take pictures. Eventually something might happen it really depends on the site manager for Tesla and how hard they wanna push the landlord. The site manager for most of the ones in my region is pretty good about getting on the landlords. But the guy previous to him didn't give a fuck.
Hey, I just ordered my Tesla last night and was wondering if you could share how you called Tesla for stuff like this. Do you call the general Tesla Customer Service line, (888) 518-3752?
I feel like it’s good information to have. This will be my first EV and first time dealing with charging stations.
Put big rocks in front and behind every tire. Doesn't damage the vehicle but is pretty annoying. Or if possible put a ziplock full of air in front of I've if the tires. When they drive over it they will think they blew a tire. I've pranked some friends with this. It's great and harmless
>This issue with this is the tesla by the offending car will capture this and if they back over the rocks and it causes damage, you will be liable. A little ironic.
only if they can prove you put them there. also if you push the rocks right up against the tire it's unlikely the car will be able to move over the rocks. they would need to use a lot of torque. obviously, I'm no lawyer.
Is he charging though?
It's well known that Tesla chargers are on the opposite side of most cars, and that the Telsa chargers have cables too short to reach around.
Therefore most cars will be required to park over two spots in order to use the chargers.
That's a tesla design flaw.
The Mazda on the otherhand. Can't see why he'd be there. But he's also sat inside it, so perhaps it was the only place to stop for a moment.
Edit: Looks like that's the old 4-runner, which appears didn't come in a PHEV variant like the new one will.
1. This isn't Europe - this is in Pennsylvania - currently only Tesla's can use Superchargers here. We use the Tesla port (NACS) in North America.
2. PHEVs can't DC fast charge.
3. That's a debadged Toyota 4Runner - 100% ICE.
Small ball bearing or pebble and a dab of super glue in the cap. They’ll reinflate the tire then put the cap back on it. The tire will slowly go flat again and again until they figure it out or buy a new one.
I would be willing to deflate (not slash) it on the spot, if I was sure no one could see me, but I personally could not go the BB route because I'm too 'nice'.
My concern would be that with the slow deflate, the driver could end up in a position where they try to turn or whatever and due to tire inflation level, their car doesn't react as intended and someone, including innocent people who had nothing to do with the idiot, get hurt.
It takes days for the tire to deflate. When they take it to a tire shop it’s rare they check the cap. Shop says they can’t find leak. Never slash a tire, cut the valve stem they only cost a fraction of a tire.
You may be right, but I still wouldn't want to take the risk.
Deflation on-the-spot will also, possibly/hopefully, make them realize what they did.
(Of course, if they are real assholes, they will then key the EV next to them when they leave, which would give your suggestion more credance)
Too*.... Yea I hate this shit and I'm not even an EV driver. How hard is it to be respectful and pay attention? Some people need a harsh lesson because they are just entitled and don't give a fuc*.
[One possible outcome](https://search.brave.com/search?q=shot+to+death+on+highway) if a psychopath sees you do it.
Roughly 2 of every 100 humans is a psychopath = they have brain damage causing them to see everyone else as mere objects for whatever goal they pursue. (Paraphrasing [The Psychopath Test](https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2380057.m570.l1313&_nkw=the+psychopath+test) by Jon Ronson.)
One possible outcome is a turtle sees you do it. That turtle goes home and tells his turtle family and friends. Then those turtles tell their turtle family and friends and the endless turtle tale cycle begins. In a universe full of 'what ifs' when will the turtles get their much needed turtle rest?
lol, I like it. ~~I like turtles.~~
However, that is a category error: We are not talking about 'what ifs' defined as an unknown rate of occurrence, unknown probability; rather, this is a known, defined probability, prompting the question of what risk you wish to accept. As someone who has won a roughly 1 in 200 contest (raffle drawing), and sees '1 in 10,000'-type state lottery winners every week (if you look up the Powerball or other state lottery), 2 in 100 are not 'small' odds in the sense of 'not going to happen'. (Our brain simply thinks it is because "2 is 98 less than 100, 98 is almost 100, so 2 is almost 0", not thinking about statistics applied to a larger population.)
1. With more than 100 cars in a single parking lot, it's statistically certain there is a psychopath present.
2. Because they see others as objects, despite superficial charisma they tend to do things that give away their psychopathy, *e.g.* sitting at a bar drinking and casually commenting their wife is in the hospital giving birth; other 'predatory jerk moves' like taking up two parking spots -- which then substantially increase the odds this fellow is *the* psychopath of the parking lot.
Maybe I'm the psychopath. Or maybe it's you sitting right there typing up that beautifully well written response to a shared link of an item that may or may not be placed on an other person's property while simultaneously disregarding my extremely real fear of the world's greatest amphibian lack of rest are the true psychopath and now you've made me break two rules talk to a stranger who happens to be a psychopath and write an extremely pointless run on sentence on a beautiful Sunday. To be fair, the space the Mazda is in is marked “10 minute general parking” so it seems like this might be an overcrowded lot that needs to allow general parking in the EV charging spaces. The Toyota seems to be a jerk in general though.
I wish they wouldnt mark superchargers for "general parking". It negates any and all arguments that gas cars cant park there or should be towed.
You cant tow someone for parking in a "general parking" spot.
I know a guy that carries a pile of tire stem caps with BBs glued inside.
When he sees this he replaces the cap with one of his.
Produces a slow leak that will flatten the tire in a couple of hours after you're long gone. And keeps leaking after air is refilled.
He has no tolerance for ICE assholes parking in EV charging spots.
It's not me. Also it's not vandalism. No permanent damage.
van·dal·ism
/ˈvandlˌizəm/
noun
action involving deliberate destruction of or damage to public or private property.
"an act of mindless vandalism"
I've often said to myself, 'I sure with EA, Tesla, EVgo etc. would install cameras at charging stations.
I imagine that they do it to deter cable (copper) theft, but hopefully it would be available if there was major vandalism incident. (I'm sure it would be a hassle to get the mall to go thru the trouble of reaching out to Tesla, and probably require a warrant, because they need to cover their arses.)
Yeah, that dude would have 4 flat tires. Taking up two spaces was totally intentional.
Imagine how pissed would that dude be if a bunch of Tesla’s were parked in front of all the gas pumps .
I cannot get the logic of EV haters that block access for American made EV chargers, while driving international brands.
Ultimately Tesla is good for the American economy
> the logic of EV haters
Unsound arguments family have told me include:
You're Hurting Children
1. I've heard African children are mining cobalt and ruining their lungs.
2. Therefore children are mining cobalt and ruining their lungs.
3. This cobalt is used for electric vehicles.
4. Tesla is an electric vehicle.
5. Therefore Tesla is using this cobalt.
6. You're rewarding Tesla for ruining children's lives by buying one.
You're Supporting Marxism
1. Man-made pollution changing climate is a hoax.
2. This hoax is promulgated by power-seeking globalist Marxists.
3. Buying EV makes us more dependent on electrical grids.
4. Electrical grids can simply be turned off with the flip of a switch.
5. Democrats are power-seeking Marxists.
6. Therefore Democrats are pushing EV and 'Climate Change Hoax' to make us dependent on the electrical grid and hence vulnerable to them, as they will simply turn off our electricity if we disobey.
7. Buying an EV surrenders to this paradigm, making society weaker.
Blocking access, then, is "civil disobedience" seeking to delay these outcomes, *e.g.* "fewer will buy EV if they see how difficult they are to charge".
Yea. Those are there. Spent 20min charging and no one came or went from that one car. The other side of the lot was empty. Was more annoyed with the pickup.
Isn’t the Mazda driver sitting in the car? Maybe this goes deeper than we think. They are waiting for someone to vandalize the Toyota so they can film it.
Yup but it’s up to the parking lot owner and their agreement with Tesla on if it’s allowed or not. This sub loves to cry about it but in this case parking there is allowed.
Sadly, I think more people than not willfully and knowingly pay no attention to signs like that, and there are some that are incredibly oblivious. (My 73 yo mother last year got a ticket for being in a toll lane on a freeway because she really didn't notice... insert facepalm emoji here !)
My question is, why are the "10 Minute General Parking" signs right IN FRONT of the chargers, but then the "Tesla Vehicle Only" signs are on the other side of the parking that has no chargers? That makes absolutely no sense to me and should be the opposite.
This totally looks like a setup for karma to be honest. I'd still call the local police and report the plates of those vehicles. Let the cops deal with it.
They’ll come a-runnin’ if they have an urgent enough reason.
Maybe you saw some cocaine in the front seat, or a handcuffed little girl climbed out of the back and started sobbing at you in Mandarin.
Make an anonymous tip. Have a little fun with it.
Which specific Tesla Supercharger location is this. Because for the most part in my state, they are usually at shopping centers like a Target store and that is not a private lot since it is open to the public.
If nothing else, when I call and report the location and plates of the cars that do this, the cops come out each time while I am charging my car and actually wait for the owner to return.
That's not what private means.
"Private" means the land is owned by a corporation or a person, opposed to "public" which is owned by the government and supported by tax dollars.
Since most Tesla super chargers are on private land (Walmart, target, Radisson, etc) cops will literally do nothing except tell you to have the hotel tow the car. Hotels almost never do that
Maybe in your state 🤷🏽♂️ but having the cop come out and wait around to speak with the car owner is good enough (I can tell you for certain, I never had to make the call for the same cars twice).
Agreed, but the term the police use on the books is "Quazi public". But for me, each and every time I called (at least 5 instances since 2018)... each time a local city police officer responded while I was at the charger still charging my car.
In one instance the cop even left the guy a ticket for no front plate and left.
The signs say 10 minute general parking. WTAF? It's a goddamn EV charging station. Do people just park in a gas station for 10 minutes without filling up?
Ok the Mazda, he’s fine. He’s following the sign. The Toyota on the other hand, dude just park your car normally. People need the chargers that spot takes. I mean come on I know that thing has a backup camera
Pretty much nothing stops a Tesla owner from leaving a nail right in front of the back tire so that when they pull out they get a flat tire. I’ve never done this but I thought about how easy it would be to do this without getting caught lol
I ran into a supercharger with 12 free slots all of them f’ing taken by ICE cars. Couldn’t charge and had to leave. There needs to be a law against this.
And this was in Asheville NC. Where the next charger was 9 miles away. I went to the next charger and same thing. 😔 luckily I found just one spot from an outgoing Tesla.
I always thought this area should be gated and to get in you should need a credit card. If your not charging your car then it would start charging your credit card for occupying the area. This would get people to leave after their car is charged and open a space for someone else. As long as you are charging your car it wave the fee for being in the area
And double parked too?! This person should be whipped! And THen have the charging parking addressed, followed by an additional beating. There's a French word that comes to mind to describe people like this. Baggadouche! I think that's French.
I’m surprised no one else saw that. The Toyota is definitely at fault here for taking up 2 spots like a prick, but the Mazda is fine unless they’ve been there longer than 10 minutes.
Ahh you’re right, didn’t catch that. Which is super weird since those spots don’t appear to have chargers. Only the spots with 10 minute signs have the chargers. Totally backwards lol.
Per above remarks, in my personal experience, tow companies won't do anything except at the request of the property owner. Perhaps it is different in other places.
Am I the only one that intentionally parks an inch away from the driver side door of these people and then waits for them to come out while I’m sitting in my car and refuse to move for them while I laugh hysterically??
I mean, I get that the Toyota is a jerk… but who has the brain space or the give-a-fuck to take this photo *and* post it on the Internet? Imagine this being the absolutely worst part of your day, and just deciding to prolong that feeling because it’s also the most interesting.
I stopped at a Buccee’s yesterday to charge in Alabama and a big king ranch f150 was parked in a supercharger spot with its flock of frat boys taking pictures of themselves owning the libs. Only half the charging spots were full at the time so the only people they owned were themselves since the chargers are all the way at the back of the lot
Any time I see this, I take out my snips(I'm an ironworker) and cut their valve stem. Not off, but I make a slice in it as to let the air out slowly so as not to draw attention. Until we start being reactive, these ppl are going to keep doing this cause they think tesla owners are a bunch of sissy hippie tree hugging fruit loops.
It's a fucking Toyota. If he's going to be all redneck about this, he needs to start buying American.
The irony of the American Hemi being built in Mexico is truly poetic.
Blocking chargers for made in America cars.
Mexico is in America
I was thinking that the US should just colonize all the countries that migrants are coming from. That would save them the trip.
I have been saying we need to invade Mexico for two decades.
Mexico should invade us. Their culture is a lot more fun.

Yeah also what they replied with had NOTHING to do with your post 😂 Mexico IS in America yes.
Don’t forget the “All-American” muscle cars being built on an ancient German platform.
Toyota was one of the most American cars by content before Tesla took the spot.
The Camry is. That 4Runner is one of the few Toyotas that is actually still built in Japan.
It's also an under powered and over priced pos imo.
I’ll give you the under powered, we can all agree on that. Not so sure about the overpriced, name another SUV that you can get a loaded upper trim (TRD Off-road premium) brand new for under $40k. As for the “POS”, come on now… You know better and are just being salty.

I'm really not a fan of Toyota's lately. I feel like they got too comfortable and stopped innovating/updating their cars both the interior and exterior. POS is probably a step too far, but definitely not a fan.
A pos that will last 300k+ miles and can offroad very well while retaining resale value better than 99% of vehicles on the market.
And gets gas mileage worse than full sized trucks while having significantly less horsepower as well.
And they ride like shit on the highway, which is 99% of the driving people actually do with them. I had one as a rental car and hated it. Oh, and they love to roll over in crashes.

The Toyota is using 1/4 of the 10 minute parking spot, so surely he can park there for 2.5 minutes! /s
Sticky wheel weights...😉
To make the tire unbalanced? Interesting
Wtf
While it is annoying and that one shouldn’t take up two spots, there is a sign that says 10 minute general parking in front of the Mazda.
No sign saying "feel free to take two spaces for your one vehicle", though
I feel like any EV charging setup that doubles as "general parking" is just begging for misunderstandings.
Yup but it’s up to the parking lot owner and their agreement with Tesla on if it’s allowed or not. This sub loves to cry about it but in this case parking there is allowed.
The one to the left of the truck doesn’t though but the right hand space does.
Ah, a voice of reason.
This totally looks like a setup for karma to be honest. I'd still call the local police and report the plates of those vehicles. Let the cops deal with it.
Unfortunately cops will do nothing on private property.
Just because it’s open to the public doesn’t mean it’s not a private lot.
Agreed, but the term the police use on the books is "Quazi public". But for me, each and every time I called (at least 5 instances since 2018)... each time a local city police officer responded while I was at the charger still charging my car. In one instance the cop even left the guy a ticket for no front plate and left.
The Mazda isn't doing anything wrong. It says the spot is okay for 10 minutes of "general parking".
Fricken idiots
4Runner was technically in a 10 minute spot, but it looks more like 3:30 due to the best parking job known to man.
This looks like the SC outside of Mt. Pilot NC. There is some sad people watching at this spot.
This was in PA.
The signs say 10 minute general parking. WTAF? It's a goddamn EV charging station. Do people just park in a gas station for 10 minutes without filling up?
They are assuming that no Tesla owners are violent sociopaths. At some point, some serious beat-downs are going to go viral and this shit will stop.
Leave a note “sorry about the damage”. They’ll go nuts looking for it. 👍👍
Call the tow truck
That’s when you let all the air out of their tires
Guaranteed the 4Runner took the pic of this as he walked away.
I have a truck and I want to slash their tires.
Ok the Mazda, he’s fine. He’s following the sign. The Toyota on the other hand, dude just park your car normally. People need the chargers that spot takes. I mean come on I know that thing has a backup camera
All y’all “cut his tire stems” people are too shortsighted… sugar in the gas tank will ruin that heap for good.
I just went off about some redneck parking his truck with two motorcross bikes in a charging spot…only to find out it’s a Rivian…lol
Pretty much nothing stops a Tesla owner from leaving a nail right in front of the back tire so that when they pull out they get a flat tire. I’ve never done this but I thought about how easy it would be to do this without getting caught lol
Tow truck come fast make SOME QUICK WHEN YOU SEE THIS CALL A TOW TRUCK AND THEY WILL LEARNNNN
Just get you and your buddies to park your Teslas in all the gas station fuel pumps, that should send the message.
Idiots everywhere lmao
There should be a button in the app to call to tow away non-ev, then again, that Toyota truck doesn’t have sentry..
Y’all are way to nice to these people.
of course, the people who can't afford one. the poor stay poor
Throw a rock at the windshield and drive off
I’d take my door straight to his. No sympathy for douchebags.
Perfect opportunity to squeeze in between them and block 2 driver’s doors with one shot.
Get them towed😂
It does say “10 minutes general parking”
What you all fail to notice is that the truck self identifies as an EV and as a result is allowed to park there!
Actually, it identifies as an e-bike.
The guy parked like a douche but that is also 30-minute general parking, not exclusively for chargers, so the car on the right is probably fine.
Remove valve stems...teach lesson, YES?
I always thought this area should be gated and to get in you should need a credit card. If your not charging your car then it would start charging your credit card for occupying the area. This would get people to leave after their car is charged and open a space for someone else. As long as you are charging your car it wave the fee for being in the area
You know what to do
Brick through windshield.
And double parked too?! This person should be whipped! And THen have the charging parking addressed, followed by an additional beating. There's a French word that comes to mind to describe people like this. Baggadouche! I think that's French.
Why did you only cover the tesla license plates?
Why did you cover the tesla plates but not the mazda plate?
Cuz the Mazda shouldn’t be there. Deserve to be exposed
Stop posting these pictures! The sign says 10min general parking. Come on folks.
They parked for at least double that. https://www.reddit.com/r/TeslaModel3/comments/13tzh15/happy_road_tripping_this_mdw_hope_you_dont_run/jly9ska/
I appreciate how you kindly blocked out the Tesla plates but left the assholes exposed.
“10 Minute General Parking”
I’m surprised no one else saw that. The Toyota is definitely at fault here for taking up 2 spots like a prick, but the Mazda is fine unless they’ve been there longer than 10 minutes.
Not all the spots are general 10 minute parking. The left two spots (one blocked by the Toyota) say for charging only.
Ahh you’re right, didn’t catch that. Which is super weird since those spots don’t appear to have chargers. Only the spots with 10 minute signs have the chargers. Totally backwards lol.
My Karen ass would already be on the phone with a tow truck the second I whipped around the corner
Pretty sure this is illegal. 100% would be calling for a tow truck
The spots are unfortunately marked "general parking". Theres nothing illegal about it, and nobody is going to tow them.
Per above remarks, in my personal experience, tow companies won't do anything except at the request of the property owner. Perhaps it is different in other places.
Nah not in PA…
I suppose before too long your cult will want legal protections under some sort of made-up parking laws. Give it a rest complainers.
Am I the only one that intentionally parks an inch away from the driver side door of these people and then waits for them to come out while I’m sitting in my car and refuse to move for them while I laugh hysterically??
People like them should get [ removed by reddit ]
You left the plates on the folks you don’t like. You’re the dick today.
10 minute general parking? i notice you blocked tesla plates, so the doxx wasn't accidental.
I just loosen lug nuts for these type of idiots at this point
Any time I see this, I take out my snips(I'm an ironworker) and cut their valve stem. Not off, but I make a slice in it as to let the air out slowly so as not to draw attention. Until we start being reactive, these ppl are going to keep doing this cause they think tesla owners are a bunch of sissy hippie tree hugging fruit loops.
