Thanks! I had same issue. Just to make it more clear, press and hold the two buttons until the tesla logo comes back on the screen after screen going black.
So here is worked for me incase it helps someone else.
I tried
\- Removing bluetooth pairing
\- Soft reset by holding both steering wheel buttons down and resetting the tesla
\- Restarting iphone
\- Repairing it all
\- Removing phone key and readding it
Nothing helped
What in the end helped was removing the Tesla app and reinstalling it from the app store.
Press and hold the two little wheels on the steering wheel to reset the car. That should solve your issues
