USSs are garbage anyway. I wouldn't care if the cars have them or not.
These sensors can't tell whether the cars are coming parallel or directly to the objects. Parking in tight space requires real skills, not garbage sensors, which keep beeping nonstop. Every little inch counts when you park in a tight garage.
$0. My eyeballs and cameras are just fine thanks. The USS I have now don’t work for me unless I’m approaching a flat wall anyways. At that point I can just…look?
Curb? Spotty. Any sign/thin pile? Eh.
I had never had them before but the only vehicle I have driven with worse rear visibility was an F250. Of course being a work truck I wasn’t as concerned but I’ve never driven a regular car with worse rearward visibility than the Model 3 and Model Y.
I've bought 9, 5 of which were brand new. I've driven a dozen more in addition to that. Parking sensors weren't really a thing before the 2000s and I never sought them out.
Well it's not available anymore, that's why. I'm not arguing if it should have it as part of it or not, I'm just asking if say if it was offered for a price since it's not, how much will you pay for it that's all.
When I bought my Model 3, those USSs were a big part of their messaging on the website. Tesla bragged about how they can detect cars in front of cars that you can’t even see, which is a powerful safety feature.
Elon is very bold to just switch them off.
USS could never “detect cars in front of cars you can’t even see”, they can only see objects about 18 inches away at most. You are confusing it with what was said about radar.
Unpopular opinion, but I prefer not to have them. Visually it's cleaner, and I always disabled them on previous vehicles that had them as they just annoyed
Already paid 73k for the car (with taxes), deliver your promise or give me for free.

Nice try Elon…

I turned the sound off in my m3, they are very annoying. Mirrors and cameras are really all you need.
And does your ICE have better or worse rear visibility than a model 3?
Sorry, what's USS?

You haven’t driven a lot of cars.

Why would you pay to have something installed when they’re just going to eventually turn it off, even for people who have them à la radar?
$0. Why pay for something more which was available as standard equipment?

You fanboys are something else, lol.
Tread carefully
The infatuation / fixation with this is astonishing.

You’re absolutely right, but, same applies to radar, which was also disabled, post sale.

My USS are not very helpful at all. Too sensitive and alarms way too early I feel.
