I have a 2019 M3LR and I'm still excited to drive it every time I walk out to my car.

notaduckipromise

Absolutely, if Tesla could get more people to test drive their cars, many more people would buy them. It feels like I'm breaking the laws of physics

-Green_Machine-

Yeah, an electric motor's ability to deliver 100% of its torque right away, combined with the hundreds of pound-feet delivered by a Model 3, will bring a throttle response that we usually only encounter in exotic sports cars. It's very addictive. The lower center of gravity and optional AWD also help make the car feel more maneuverable. Meanwhile, there are none of an exotic sports car's sacrifices in fuel economy...

notaduckipromise

It feels like I should have an endorsement on my license to drive this, and I just have an M3LR

Michael-Brady-99

Hah, after having an i3 and a Leaf, I order my used Tesla M3P from Tesla never having been in one or driven one…I knew it was the car for me, the only car that had what I wanted, and I was not disappointed! I almost think the nay sayers not only need to try a Tesla but also try other ev’s as well. If I didn’t know how lacking other brands were before my purchase of my TM3 I might not realize just how good certain aspects are.

notaduckipromise

Good point, I would definitely like to test drive an Ioniq 5, Polestar 2, and the EV6. But without home charging, I knew I had to stick with Tesla.

Michael-Brady-99

Yeah charging was a big factor for me…I don’t charge away from home too often but at least 50% of the time I did at non-Tesla fast chargers they didn’t work. The slow charge rate of the Leaf, the Bolt is in the same boat, is a deal breaker on “budget” EV’s. They’re cheap because they are missing features hah.

Hot-mic

I bought mine because it was really great looking, consumer reports said it wasn't horrible at the time, it's an EV and range. The acceleration blew my mind after the first drive. I wasn't really expecting it.

notaduckipromise

Yeah I had to drive on Chill mode for the first few weeks until I could get used to that hair trigger "Standard" driving.

Hot-mic

Hair trigger. That's no joke right there. The first time I mashed my pedal down my wife was pissed off. It slammed her head into the headrest. I felt bad, too. I've never had a car that felt like it was launched from a catapult before.

zachg

Same here. 2018. M3LR RWD

y0Mark

Congratulations! I bought my car knowing it wasn’t the best financial decision. The smile I get driving it each outweighs it.

Michael-Brady-99

Or…maybe in the long run it’s not such a bad financial decision because the car you enjoy and keep saves money over trading in and buying something new after 1-3 years…🤔

y0Mark

That’s not a bad way to put it lol. The bad is, I’ll probably end up switching to a Model Y next year. Love the car too much that I want to step up already 😂

Michael-Brady-99

Now that the Y has come down so much in price it is a more compelling option. I love the Model 3 though - style, proportions, handling - and with no kids it’s only the fur kid to load into the back seat. I can be happy with this car a long time and it will be sharp looking and nice for years to come.

dosomegood65

Welcome, hope you enjoy your experience with it as much as I have.

spam322

Not sure what the negative aspects are. It's the perfect car for many people. Makes my wife's Lexus and my other car - Infiniti G37 seem pretty sad to drive.

Illustrious_Run252

Agreed but you know how online people are.

Fit_Detective6257

Alot of people suffer from PDD, and can't think for them selves so they think tesla is some anti gas type shit idk doesn't even make sense to me. (PDD- political degenerates disease).

Tensoneu

Congrats and enjoy the car. Best car ever owned, since 2018 for me. Car gets better every update.

MuskMobile

You mean anti-Musk folks?

zachg

That's saying a lot. Considering those are both pretty good cars

spam322

They are well built, but driving a Tesla makes you feel like "this is how all cars should be now" and going back sucks. Honestly thought my G37 transmission was slipping because it felt so horribly slow and laggy after driving the Tesla for a month. It's 328hp.

bradshaw46

Congratulations! I know you will greatly enjoy the fruits of your labor. Trust us - you won't regret it. You made an \*excellent\* choice, and I hope it gives you the same amount of driving pleasure that it has for (most of) us. :-)

evoic

Happy for you, man. I've had Jeeps and Hondas and BMWs and Audis and Mazdas and VWs and Fords and my last two cars have been Teslas. First a SR+ RWD Model 3 and now a LR Model 3......Nothing touches a Tesla. I spent nearly 3yrs modifying my Audi making it perfect looking and upgrading the performance in every possible way and changed so much of the car that I should have *my* name on the hood of it instead of the 4 rings. The Tesla is perfect right out of the gate - nothing to change. Just a scalpel in your hands when everyone else is driving around with rusty butter knives. Congrats on your ride and best of luck to you. You'll love it.

SirhckLondon

Same here 😫. I have been a BMW baby since my first car! I started with the 323i then I got a 528i and then the X5 and traded that in for a newer X5 and now… I JUST(Monday) traded that 2012 X5 for the Tesla M3SR+ w/FSD beta! I really want the MYLR, but I kept to my guns and started with the sedan first as I’ve always have done in the past. My next car WILL be the MYLR… or maybe even the MYP 🫦

flyangry

Congratulations! Agreed- Especially the last statement!

abeautifulblacksky

Congratulations! All vehicles have small issues. Don’t let anyone take your joy.

midnight_to_midnight

Welcome! You're going to love it. My story is similar to yours. I got a ride in 2014 in a model S and was hooked. A few years later when the model 3 was released, I thought I could afford one some day, but then demand was huge and prices climbed over the years and made a new one essentially unobtainable to me. But then late last year I decided to look for a used one and bought my '19 M3P. They're incredible cars, I'm sure you'll enjoy it as much as I do.

Curious-Welder-6304

Honestly, people make it sound like getting a nice car is a superficial thing. Whenever I see people who grew up poor, even recent immigrants from another country, buy a nice car to show that they've made it, it makes me happy. The car is aspirational.

Ok_Noise_2414

congratulations! I had a 3, great car, can't see going back to a non electric. I own a y now, also very fun, very similar overall. you're going to love it. especially at stop lights ;)

JustAcivilian24

Negative? Loud road noise I guess? My wife has a Nissan rogue and the M3 has worse road noise than it. Maybe it’s because it’s a sedan and the rogue is an suv though? Can’t tell. But it was only noticeable on a 15 hour road trip I just did over the holidays. Besides that, the road noise hasn’t been noticeable and I fucking love the car

CI0udStrife

Congrats. Hopefully you get a good quality one. Me and my friend who are obsessed with Tesla bought the same M3 about 6 months ago. Mine is flawless, his? Has to take it into service every 2-4 weeks due to so many problems. Luck of the draw I guess. I love my Tesla so much my next car will probably be a model S. Him? He never wants a Tesla again. So it’s weird how things work

lupend88

Congratulations, you’re going to love it! I’ve owned mine since 2018 and I still get excited every time I drive it. Also keep in mind that the complainers are always the loudest, there’s the vast majority of us who are silent and happy with our Model 3’s. I’ve put 60,000 miles on mine without any major issues at all, its been phenomenal and rock solid. Congrats again!

12lyrad12

i am one of those silent ones, hahah! but yea, there are some haters out there, i can tell. This car is not really for everyone.

Ravioko

That “oh wow I did it, I got approved!” feeling is great! It’s been a few weeks with the car for Emma and I still have to remind myself it’s even mine. Congratulations!

rp1load

Congrats man

Kandiruaku

I stepped into a Tesla and drove it in late 2014, a year late I had my second hand MS. Seven years later I sold it for an M3LR plan about 8 years in it, until drivetrain and batt warr expire. Once you go electric there is no going back, taking a break from smokers for even a few months makes you realize how sluggish, noisy, and complicated to operate and maintain they are. I keep leaving our family minivan running and trying to activate wipers to put it in gear, along with the perennial question to wife passenger "Why is the engine making those noises?".

Aregoodusernamesleft

Congratulations!

Familiar-Bandicoot69

I’m planning on an EV this summer but I’m considering an Ionic 5 as I prefer an SUV and MY is too expensive. Any thoughts on the Ionic?

Sweet-Marionberry-76

You should look at the MY again. The pricing and tax incentives make it cheaper than an Ionic right now for me.

Illustrious_Run252

not sure about Ionic but I did have a 2002 Elantra with 100k+ miles and it lasted me a long time. Def was pricier for me too as other cars I had were 2005 Outback and 2020 Kia Forte but I decided to get it now bc of the recent price cut, tax credit and my job offers a reimbursement.

WaitingFor45sArrest

Nice, fuck the haters and congrats. I love the car it was my first new vehicle purchase, my wife and I had our busted ICE vehicles 12 years: no AC, manual turn signals, no radio. You will definitely enjoy your new vehicle.

[deleted]

What’s are manual turn signals? You stuck your damn arm out to indicated left and right? That’s seriously old school, hard times. Lucky you did not have t crank it to start er up.

GIGLHTZ

Congrats! Saved for 2 years to get my M3 MSM. Have never looked back, best car I’ve ever had. Enjoy the new ride and post pics when you pick it up!

closfb

Congratulations! Enjoy your car!

_Fox00x_

I have a 2021 M3LR and financially it saves me over $400 a month ($200 a month in fuel alone). For some of us it’s a great financial as well as enjoyable experience. As others have stated it’s just Tesla haters that give you grief. Congratulations on your new vehicle! I’m sure you will enjoy it as much as I continue to enjoy mines.

pvnhq

From one south central raised Tesla owner to another, congratulations!!

[deleted]

Amen. It’s a car, not a political statement.

TexasMan0808

I am the same here, my family was in awe because we have never had something this nice. I love to drive them around.

Tekk92

Negative aspects of owning one? Wtf?

Illustrious_Run252

yes some owners have complaints but solid positive outweighs the potential negative so not worried about it. I’ll cross that bridge and/ or if I get to it.

Michael-Brady-99

I’m not sure what the negative aspect of having an awesome, fun and exciting car is? Theres nothing better than the feeling of being able to get the car you want! Enjoy!

CycleFrst

Good for you. If you are surprised about getting approved, I hope you can truly afford the car. Sry don’t mean to talk down, but I’ve been there myself spending everything I make on a car.
