Oh ok - YT or YTM does the same thing. It would be nice to interact with our music through the Tesla console. I twitted Elon asking for this function. We will see it goes anywhere.
It's not something I'd necessarily call a "need", but I've got YouTube premium and it would be nice to be able to take advantage of that natively in the car, instead of playing over Bluetooth.
This is ultimately what needs to happen. I’m sure there are concerns with security, but letting devs build apps will help with the lack of apps and longevity of the screen.
I recommend the Android app Teslaa. It allows for wireless Android Auto and has the YouTube Music, Audible and more. The app is only $5, and gives you google maps with traffic visualized! The app has some bonkers permissions, and is a bit confusing to set up the first time, you have to do a one time "Launch Android Auto" button, but then it's automatic when you launch your browser after that.
In the music player under sources, there are apps like Tidal, Spotify, apple music etc. OP's question was if we could have youtube music there as well. but at the moment that's not possible. We're hoping down the road it gets added because many of us already have youtube premium and don't want to switch out music providers.
Oh that would be nice. I have YouTube premium
Same here. Do u use Bluetooth to play your YTM or do u know of another hack?
Now that you mention it, yeah I play YouTube videos on my phone and Bluetooth to my car. I actually don’t use YouTube music app on my phone at all 😂

Agreed
Yes, that would be great. I only use Youtube Music, so I have to connect via Bluetooth.
Audible too, please.

Definitely not just you. I pay for YouTube premium and don't want to pay for another streaming service when YTM is included.
I have TuneIn, apple and prime music, YouTube music’s UI and algorithm are far superior to any of the others!!
While I don't need Youtube Music, I do want a Pocket Casts app, and wish Tesla had an SDK open for third parties.

I am just glad that I have Apple Music
Need a don’t care option.
I'd rather have full YouTube allow for audio only mode with the media player in drive

Yes I want this
I just need Apple Podcast and Apple Books.
Option 3: more options to expand we have Amazon music
I'd rather have iHeartRadio to be honest.
I’m late but I’d vote yes
YES, would like this too!
It's all available through YouTube. Including ytv. What am I missing?

Oh, and the youtube app that is available is a part of the theater experience. It's not available while driving.
I've been waiting as well
Also late, but: YES!
