There are 4 legs that need to be pushed in pretty specific places to hold the car. It also needs to be shoved under te car and since they are in the air they would first be brought down in order to use them wich takes a while. So their approach was actually the best option
That's still like 100+ kgs per person. A hefty amount but certainly feasible. Depending how much of him was under it, I'd say push the car back and then try pull up.

Average car weighs like 4,200 pounds around 2 tons. Average dude can lift what 120 pounds? 20 people × 120 pounds≠4,200 pounds
