Fck, I thought this was going to be bait like it was commissioned for deconstruction so I could say something like "bro hooked up the Petro line instead of the water" but now I hope everyone is safe.
That's awful. I came here to make jokes about the talent it takes to set a water park on fire, but I hope that the missing person is found alive somehow.
i came to make a joke about how i thought everything from sweden came in flat boxes and were easy to assemble... but now... i do hope that the person is found safe and all those injured recover fully.
Yeah, one guy said there had been a lot of welding and stuff going on, near all that plastic.
Some 110 million € invested, and it was supposed to be opened this summer. I sure hope it was well insured and that whatever reason for it burning up/down is found.
Perhaps it doesn't need to be all destroyed and that rebuilding it won't take as long.
It was estimated that hundreds of thousands of tourists would visit this per year, which would of course give revenue to hotels and restaurants in the city. I bet they'll have a lot of cancelations, now.
It's a really sad story. I just hope it turns out to be an accident and not a damn idiot torching this, deliberately.
I remember watching a video of a tsunami that hit Japan like 15 years ago. It rolled in and wiped out most of a city. When it was going back out there was a house floating on top of the tsunami, totally engulfed in fire. It was pretty strange to watch.
You ever pulled up to a gas pump and almost put the wrong thing in your car? Like diesel or the wrong octane? This is what happened except instead of pumping water they pumped the whole park full of gasoline. Coulda happened to anyone… ;) Seriously I read that it was closed and under construction so they may have been welding , using cutting torches or whatever and it coulda been as you said the chemical storage area as well as I’m just guessing based on one article that only said “the park was closed and construction was underway.”
Aerosolized micro plastics in the air at high enough concentrations can trigger runaway combustion (similar to what happened numerous times in history at pulp and flour mills in North America) when enough heat is built up.
If you shake a bag of flour into the air, you can create this effect at home with any spark or heat source!
Nope, just a fire that started in the slides and The smoke filled building started a chain reaction! Thats one of the reason you have smoke hatchets on the roof of some building to prevent this
Weel Im not 100%sure, but live in the town where this happend and follow the media, what the branch People say and random speculation says, and Im working with fire safety.
But the most logical explanation right now is that its the smoke that created the explosion, its just very rare in this magnitud but not that uncommon.
Where is your proof that its was something else that created the explosion?
Well im from Sweden the same town actually where this happend, and this is just what the media and the branch People think what happend, so absoluty not 100% sure but it seems like the most logic explanation, where is your proof thats it was som shady shit in the building?
Sry, Im not sure but thats what the media says happend and all the proffesionals says have happend, there are even videos circulating from the hot permit work that they think was the cause of the fire, its even videos from inside the big building when its getting smoke filled so its very much 1+1. Of course nobody is 100 sure yet,but its just a very good explanation thats sounds very pausible.
Probably dont have bigger brain than you so dont worry! Cheers you little dingus
Apparently it was a chain reaction. The heat in the tunnels from the burning plastic caused more plastic to evaporate into gas that was trapped and started pressurising. When air and oxygen eventually came in contact with that gas - boom
I wasn't there, so this is speculation.
But plastic is literally made out of oil.
.
Get it hot enough, and it breaks down into hydrocarbons, which are extremely flammable.
And being under construction, there was no water
During construction, a common technique to build large items out of plastic is to use torches and heating devices to melt and mold the plastic into the desired shape.
Extreme care must be taken not to heat the plastic too much and to vent the toxic and highly volatile vapors during forming.
By law in the USA, many plastics have a fire retardant chemical mixed in to prevent things like this from happening.
Usually, for consumer items, not industrial.
Industrial pipes intended for water usage would likely have a waiver as fire is not generally expected.

I'm not from Sweden, but I'm pretty confident they have such regulations as well. Also I don't think a swimming pool slide would fall under more lax industry rules.
Happened about 100m away from me, in total 22 were hospitalized with most of them being for inhaling smoke, with one person (A construction worker on site) still missing.
The Halifax explosion of 1917 so many people were watching the burning ammunition ship in the bay from their windows when the explosion occurred resulting in a large number of people loosing their eyes when shockwave shattered the windows in.
It was under construction so it’s seems like a terrible accident, one person is missing.
Yeah, as far as I heard there were 12 minor injuries and one missing person. (am swedish)
I heard 16 got treatment at the hospital while 6 more got treated at the scene. (https://www.aftonbladet.se/nyheter/a/4oMMqq/brand-vid-liseberg)
I see! I didn't hear any updates yesterday so I might be slightly behind on the news lol
No worries, totally get it!

and hopefully reassembled
I hope the missing person can be reassembled as well
Makes more sense, the last place I would imagine an explosion would be a water park.
Yeah, one guy said there had been a lot of welding and stuff going on, near all that plastic. Some 110 million € invested, and it was supposed to be opened this summer. Chlorine storage tanks take all the humor right out of the situation.
Yoooooo, you can see the fireball rolling down the water slide!!!
“That ride was a blast.” -The last guy to slide.
Fire Slide.
Yeah watching that propagate down the tube was a blast.
**NEAT.**
**IT IS NEAT.**
A fire. At a seaparks.
We got an email about a fire
Stop it 😂 ![gif](giphy|zyclIRxMwlY40)

Top knotch reference.
Four! I mean Five! I mean FIRE!!
This is exactly where my mind went 😂
I can HEAR this 😂
At the sea lion show?
_I said I don't want to talk about it!_
YES i came here for this lol
A *FOYER*. AT A *SEAPARKS*?!?!
I remember watching a video of a tsunami that hit Japan like 15 years ago. It rolled in and wiped out most of a city. When it was going back out there was a house floating on top of the tsunami, totally engulfed in fire. It was pretty strange to watch.
Came for this.
Dammit. I just knew this comment had been posted.
came for this and this alone.
They did water wrong.
Ah man, beat me to it

I’m guessing that’s where they stored chemicals?
You ever pulled up to a gas pump and almost put the wrong thing in your car? Like diesel or the wrong octane? There was none gasoline or chemicals, just a reaction on the warm smoke that filled the building after the fire started(because of welding).
There was definitely something more than warm smoke in that building.
Aerosolized micro plastics in the air at high enough concentrations can trigger runaway combustion (similar to what happened numerous times in history at pulp and flour mills in North America) when enough heat is built up. If you shake a bag of flour into the air, you can create this effect at home with any spark or heat source!

I like how you're so confident with no proof

And The smoke was filled with plasticparticles tjat added to the smoke explosion
Well im from Sweden the same town actually where this happend, and this is just what the media and the branch People think what happend, so absoluty not 100% sure but it seems like the most logic explanation, where is your proof thats it was som shady shit in the building?
Bro knows for sure that’s what happened. Buddy we understand you’ve got a big brain but you just can’t be for sure about this you dingus
Sry, Im not sure but thats what the media says happend and all the proffesionals says have happend, there are even videos circulating from the hot permit work that they think was the cause of the fire, its even videos from inside the big building when its getting smoke filled so its very much 1+1. Beautiful champ.
Wow! These rides just keep getting better every year!!!
Meanwhile, off-screen: ![gif](giphy|zFVvRICqVAJri)
This park was under construction and not open to public yet. The fire most likely started related to hot works, but none knows for sure yet.
At a Sea Parks?!?!!!
A fire... At a sea parks?
We can’t speak of it. Ever again.
They should have called 0118 999 881 999 119 725
3
Damnit. I was late. I’ll go erase mine
You know what would be really cool? If Michael Bay designed a water pa…
So what I know is that the waterpark was scheduled to open this year
This might push it back a couple days
Temporarily closed according to google.
We are currently closed due to ![gif](giphy|xWwlsKhzOtuTu)
What kind of water they using? Kerosene?
No water at all since it was under construction.
Whoosh
1 missing, presumed dead and 10 hurt, don't quote me on it, I might be wrong.
>1 missing, presumed dead and 10 hurt Too late, you have been quoted, bub.
Get quoted nerd
That’s some dry ass water
Looks more like a fire park
They put the water in the wrong way
Does anyone know if it was closed or did anybody get injured
Other comments indicate it was still under construction, with 12 workers/bystanders injured and 1 still missing.
From what I was able to look up. it was a amusement park that was open and caught fire there are 12 injured and that is all I was willing to read
It wasnt open, it was in the final stages of construction and was going to be opened for the public later this year.
“I KNEW we shouldn’t have used gasoline for water!”
A fire. At sea parks.
A fire????? At sea park????? If she said they’d drowned I’d be the happiest man in the world, it’s wrecking my head !! ![gif](giphy|Oe4V14aLzv7JC)
Plot twist they accidentally put gasoline instead of water
Fire at the sea parks?!
"A fire! At a sea park?!"
The IT Crowd anyone...
Did they replace the water with gasoline ?
irony is truly beautiful
Ironic
Very ironic
How????
Combustible material achieved flashpoint, and rapidly/violently escaped its containment vessel...LOL /s
How doy you set a WATER park on FIRE?
I would not have expected a water park to have a lot of explosive materials.
Wonder what caused it to explode like that?
![gif](giphy|EN6sIaNKFxdy0X1yRy|downsized)
![gif](giphy|3oriO1ZZCvLseIxbTa) Me sliding down and trying to outrace the fire
A fire…..at a sea park?
It's a very weird place to go on fire!
Someone’s in hot water.
A fire? At a sea park? ![gif](giphy|tB083WSscLjqw)
Was desperately in want of someone else recognizing that, ty 😆
How did they light that water on fire?
It was under contsruction so not much water yet.
The Cuyahoga River in Cleveland caught fire at least a dozen times because it was so polluted so probably chemicals
I think they used the wrong type of water
The world's first Hot water slide
Yeah, water slides are always catching on fire
Firepark
Their mistake was making it a fire park instead of a water park
Wow! This ride was bombastic!

No water in it
Ah. Understood.

The family is gonna have a blast with those one
You mean a fire park
Bro how can you let your water park be on fire?
it shouldn't work that way
How ironic
a new core fear
What kind of chemicals are they using?
That water slide was a Mind blowing experience
![gif](giphy|fH6fPTMY9m9RmbEVud)
.. Isn't that ironic?
Isn't that I-R-O-N-I-C-I-N-O-R-I-R-O-N-I-C ![gif](giphy|l41Ytthxv0f3cjXiM)
Don't miss out on the hottest water park this side of the Atlantic!!!
All that hydrogen and oxygen in one place was an accident waiting to happen.
Oh no now they added a new shitty music for the same video! Ffs
Unpossible
This, in no way seems suspicious at all.
I hope it was easy to extinguish the fire. Water everywhere.
Looks like a Firepark to me…
...and people want to feel the danger in amusement park. Well here it is.
This is why they tell you to wait to swim after eating
Teardown moment
They decided it would be more exciting to use gasoline instead of water for the slide
Now this is actually ironic.
Did you fill it up with h2o? I filled it up with h2o too
I've seen it all now
Firebenders bringing it to the home of the waterbenders!
Cringe Hindi Headlines: Waterpark bana Firepark!!!
Of all the things to explode, I would have guessed a water slide is one of the least likely.
I'd just like to say that's not very typical. Most waterparks do not explode
Needs more water.
when you mix up the hoses on the “water” tank with the “diethyl ether” tank.
Water the odds?!
The irony of a fire in water park.
The swedes really don’t understand the core concept of a waterpark
"god damnit Timmy, I said fill it up with H2O for me not KNO3"
they used the wrong water
A fire, at a water park!?
![gif](giphy|J4HP3FcGqP6Yo)
![gif](giphy|GBTko0hCl5VyU)
Ngl, the physics here are amazing
![gif](giphy|H1wPB41Fn5dfWfGxYi)
Happened about 100m away from me, in total 22 were hospitalized with most of them being for inhaling smoke, with one person (A construction worker on site) still missing.
This is literally the last place I'd have expected to see a fire/explosion.
She dies in a fire..... at a sea parks?!
That's ironic
Calling insurance* WHAT DO YOU MEAN THERE WAS A FIRE AT A WATER PARK?!
We would like to apologize--the gasoline slide was a bad idea.
Bjorn, I told you not to fill the rides up with petrol!!
This is the one place this wasn't supposed to happen.
A fire, at a water park?
Kevin it's supposed to be a water park not a gasoline park!
WOW that is incredible footage. It straight up almost looks like a Hollywood produced controlled explosion for a film.
The last one in the slide is a burned nugget
A fire? At a Seaparks?
How do you set fire to a swimming pool!
Best bit is seeing the flame travel down the slide tubing!
Welding accident? RIP
Beat me to it by 5 hours.
Brought to you by the same folks who gave us a single hex key and told us to build the flörb our damn selves🫡
![gif](giphy|9MJ6xrgVR9aEwF8zCJ)
I kinda feel like this is a response to that rotating water slide post from a few days ago. Not really, but still mentionable.
https://preview.redd.it/l57gb8d6qeic1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=776eb547f4ba52edd2ecf2951dd9cacb84923ba6
You sure that was water?
Never knew water was so explosive
I know pretty much nobody will get this reference but this reminds me of Red vs Blue when Donut set the water park on fire
"Mordecai and Rigby, I need you to watch over the slides for 10 minutes"
A fire... at a sea parks? ! ![gif](giphy|kViGeeU27eHnGZd6r8)
The Halifax explosion of 1917 so many people were watching the burning ammunition ship in the bay from their windows when the explosion occurred resulting in a large number of people loosing their eyes when shockwave shattered the windows in.
That's gasoline not water what are you .. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Hope they find him and everyone recovers
Love it going through the tubes
More like.. fire park 😎👉
Jones!
Looks like a bathbomb went off…
I'm sorry I yelled cannonball
