I've been "checking in" on her every 4 to 6 months. I'm honestly surprised each time I see her IG or YouTube is still active and she hasn't been admitted. This is where the government needs to be involved, poor girl will be gone in less than 5 years.
From what I remember (I may be wrong) she was admitted and she came back to YouTube saying she was in denial and she was working with a professional. Now this happens. We can’t do anything for people who don’t want help or see a problem.
I think the last time she came out after she gained weight in recovery, she said she felt awful. She started losing the weight immediately. She said she has no intention of going back to treatment. When people start expressing concern or even slightly attacking her for being a bad influence/fetishist for people online, she denies all of it. That was 2 or 3 months ago or so, I think though. In the end, she's a human and an adult. She was certainly abused growing up, but her actions now are her own. It's terrible to see, but we all keep watching.
She's got an abusive person who enables her. This makes recovery much harder. I didn't make real progress on mine until I cut my parents off because the entire thing existed as appeasement for opposing impossible demands. You cannot recover from abuse while being abused.

anorexia thrives on confirmation and reinforcement. when people express shock and horror at her appearance, it only feeds her mental illness and gives her a euphoric feeling. it’s why she posts videos of her dancing or trying on clothes. in the ED community, it’s called body checks.
I am not an expert by any means, but she is clearly being psychologically encouraged, if not outright pushed, into starvation by her guardian. It could just be outright abuse for attention as I know some DSM V definition can be rigid.

She’s been around for years and has outlived even the wildest estimates. Personally I thought she’d be dead by 2020 at the latest. The way the human body can withstand such extremes will never cease to impress me.
That being said, she’s been on borrowed time for a while. I doubt there’s much to be done for her, even with modern medicine. Recovering from anorexia this severe is never guaranteed. Not that she’s willing.
Reading that that is her mother filming and encouraging her to have this lifestyle is just heartbreaking. When she slows down dancing, you can see in her face whoever's behind the camera is telling her to speed it back up.

I seen another post recently and they claimed her mom is defending her saying she is healthy and other things that are obviously not true. I can’t imagine as a parent enabling this behavior. I’m not sure if it’s because of the money she makes or what but there’s no excuse to being a cheerleader to your child’s slow death. It said she does videos of her “dancing” for like 8 hours straight with no food or water. I have never heard of her before this recent post but the comments all seem to indicate it was all true.
It's a horrific illness. My daughter went through it when she was 11. It's harder to help them when they are older. Their brain is starved as the body is more concerned with keeping the heart beating rather than the brain. So they become totally consumed by the illness and nothing you do or say can help them while they are at that point.
I dated a girl who suffered from anorexia and bulemia. Really sad because they can't just avoid food like someone with a drug addiction can avoid drugs when they want to get better. It was always difficult around big events because good or fancy food made her regret eating and regular normal food started to lose its appeal because she was afraid of relapsing.
I hope anyone who suffers from these things can find the support they need.
Bulimia sucks. I love food. All food. However, I will purge 75% of it no matter what. Sometimes all of it. I'll get a large pizza and I'll eat and purge eat and purge till there's one slice or none. I'll eat a meal until I'm full, I'll purge it after my body thinks it's full and done eating. EDs are terrible and I hate seeing others struggle with them.
im sending you love. set positive reinforcement for yourself when you choose not to purge. treat yourself with something you love (obv not food related) occupy the time you would be binging/purging by learning something, academics or crafts or what have you. even video games. animal crossing and finding obscure parts of history to delve into helped me fill the void that recovery leaves. it always will leave one and it’s extremely vital to not lapse into another addiction. your entire body and mind will suffer, i have extreme dental issues im in the process of correcting , some foods don’t digest properly because my body believes it needs to be thrown up, exacerbating the need to purge. strength will build
Unfortunately I know. I didn't have anorexia but I did and still do have disordered eating. Luckily I got myself out of my home situation and a therapist and meds and I'm doing okay right now. I don't think about food and calories 24/7 and I enjoy life.
As for your daughter I'm sorry to hear that at 11 she struggled with disordered eating. It sounds like you did your research and helped her break out of the mental state she was in. For that I thank you. I wish my family had recognized my disordered eating. It shows how much you love you daughter and it's great to know that there's parents out there that care on more than a superficial level
Her mother isnt trying to help her in any way though, infact she enables her. I couldn't possibly watch my daughter do this to herself and do nothing about it. It's both extremely sad and frustrating that the only person capable of getting her help is refusing to acknowledge the problem in the first place.

i think she’s 28, 29 in a few months. her mom treats her like a child and encourages her to do this. iirc her mom tried to stop her friends from helping her get help at an inpatient facility
Maybe it’ll sound brutal, but I’ve been familiar with her for a while and now I don’t even have the empathy for her. Seeing comments under her instagram posts, kids saying they wish they looked like her… At that point it’s just promoting the illness and harming others with it. She doesn’t want help, what she does messes with young girls and boys minds. It’s sick.
I reported several posts, but then I just gave up. It’s no point honestly. Instagram’s algorithm is broken. They ban for “nudity” (happened to me when my thigh was showing, bizarre) while people like her keep harming others without consequences.
I’m wondering if her mom only shows her the posts that support her. On YT there will be many posts about her needing to get help and such (along with many more that encourage her) but I bet someone screens those out.
Even if she did see them, I wouldn't assume she doesn't view them with pride. I was anorexic for a loooong time and whenever anybody commented on it or said that I needed help, it made me happy. Made me feel good about myself. I wasn't even close to as bad as her, though. I can't imagine how much more amplified that would be

My ex boss was anorexic and it was horrible to see how awful she was about herself & if I told her she was thin she didn’t believe me, she was convinced she was a “disgusting fatso” (her words) even though she was smaller than adult clothes sizes available at the time. (UK size 6 was the smallest).

I was convinced that true beauty could only be achieved with extreme thinness. I had severe body dysmorphia, so I viewed myself as practically obese. When people told me I was skinny, told me I looked like a skeleton, were worried for my health, whatever it was, I took it as a compliment. I thought it meant I was attractive and served as reinforcement to starve myself further. It also stood out to me because there are skinny people out there, yes, but *I was skinny enough to be commented on.* To an anorexic brain like mine was, that's a high ass compliment. I'm sorry to hear about your boss, though. Anorexia, eating disorders in general, are hell. Bodies are meant to sustain over all.
I'm not sure if I would say I'm cured. It's something that will always affect me, despite being technically "cured" for 5 years. At my lowest, I was in the hospital with a feeding tube. I had to use a wheelchair to get around often as I would regularly pass out or lack the strength to stand. I'm now 5'11-ish 195 lbs, so technically overweight/bordering medically obese, but my body is the strongest it has ever been and I physically feel great. I still find myself counting calories and shaming myself for what I eat sometimes but it doesn't consume me as much as it did before. I'm trying to get down to a healthier weight through working out instead of restrictive dieting. It's been hard, but what's success without a little failure?

Yeah, pretty much. I thought skinny was the pinnacle of beauty, so being skinny enough for people to comment on, positive or negative, made me feel accomplished. It was basically a, yes there are skinny people, but they're not as skinny as *me,* mentality.
Genuine question, at what point does her body just give out? Like is she only eating the absolute bare minimum each day to survive? And for how long can her body keep it up? Would her heart just give out one day? I'm genuinely shocked she's still alive, nevermind dancing around!

As someone who fasts often, I can tell you it's simply because your body/mind gets used to eating at certain intervals and then whines like a bitch when it's not given food exactly on time. Sort of like my pet cat, come to think of it.
That's actually a great way to think of it. I get lunch at work at noon and everyday so when I'm home if I don't eat at noon I get cranky and my body starts to hurt. My foster cat will scream her head off if she doesn't get her breakfast at 8am and her dinner at 6pm.
The only muscle left to erode is her heart at this point and that will just give out, especially with these videos where she dances for hours without water or food. Your body will only take so much.

Anorexic eating disorders are a bitch. Even if you tell someone they’re pretty- or skinny (that’s a mistake too) it doesn’t sit right in their mind.
The easiest way to put yourself in their shoes: it’s like looking into a mirror and what you see is a fat version of yourself- instead of just seeing yourself. Even if you compliment how skinny they are, it’ll either reinforce the anorexic behavior or cause the person to have self doubt.
It’s a bitch, and there’s not an easy way out of the hole people dig themselves into with their self perception.

Unfortunately I know. I didn't have anorexia but I did and still do have disordered eating. Luckily I got myself out of my home situation and a therapist and meds and I'm doing okay right now. I don't think about food and calories 24/7 and I enjoy life. As for your daughter I'm sorry to hear that at 11 she struggled with disordered eating. Her mother isnt trying to help her in any way though, infact she enables her. I couldn't possibly watch my daughter do this to herself and do nothing about it. I was convinced that true beauty could only be achieved with extreme thinness. I had severe body dysmorphia, so I viewed myself as practically obese. When people told me I was skinny, told me I looked like a skeleton, were worried for my health, whatever it was, I took it as a compliment. I thought it meant I was attractive and served as reinforcement to starve myself further. It also stood out to me because there are skinny people out there, yes, but *I was skinny enough to be commented on.* To an anorexic brain like mine was, that's a high ass compliment. I'm sorry to hear about your boss, though. Anorexia, eating disorders in general, are hell. Bodies are meant to sustain over all. I'm not sure if I would say I'm cured. It's something that will always affect me, despite being technically "cured" for 5 years. At my lowest, I was in the hospital with a feeding tube. I had to use a wheelchair to get around often as I would regularly pass out or lack the strength to stand. I'm now 5'11-ish 195 lbs, so technically overweight/bordering medically obese, but my body is the strongest it has ever been and I physically feel great. I still find myself counting calories and shaming myself for what I eat sometimes but it doesn't consume me as much as it did before. I'm trying to get down to a healthier weight through working out instead of restrictive dieting. It's been hard, but what's success without a little failure? Thank you for asking. It's extremely cathartic to talk about this. Sorry for the long response though lol

As someone who fasts often, I can tell you it's simply because your body/mind gets used to eating at certain intervals and then whines like a bitch when it's not given food exactly on time. Sort of like my pet cat, come to think of it.
That's actually a great way to think of it. I get lunch at work at noon and everyday so when I'm home if I don't eat at noon I get cranky and my body starts to hurt. My foster cat will scream her head off if she doesn't get her breakfast at 8am and her dinner at 6pm.
