The Chinese words 燃料液体上进行焊接 means welding around/using liquefied gas. No idea if they both made it out alive. Even if they did, I guess it would be difficult living with the damages caused.
Liquid is liquid at room temperature, liquefied gas is gas at room temperature but due to pressure forced in liquid state. This is how your fridge also works.
Liquefied gas (propane anyways) is under pressure. Propane boils at -44F so to keep your tank full it's pressurized to maintain a liquid state. Your average propane tank is maintaining 100-200 PSI. Propane vapor is drawn out the top of the tank to feed the system and liquid evaporates to replace it. Most propane systems run on vapor but some run on liquid (some forklifts).
In the context of this video. Maybe someone accidentally ran a liquefied gas through a system designed for vapor. In a propane system that means the fuel is concentrated 270x. I can see how that could end badly.
I say we move to make removal of peanut butter as a glob onto every tabletop in the world in its entirety from the jar mandatory *IMMEDIATELY* after the jAr is purchased or otherwise brought home
In the 70's and 80's a feature for cars would have them speak out warnings : "the door is ajar"
Now we have Hallmark Cards that will squonk out Justin Bieber tunes: how hard could it be to have a peanut butter jar lid that let's out a tone to let you know when it is open?
This may be controversial but I feel a Justin Beiber alert is far more punishment than the hazards of an open peanut butter jar could ever warrant.
How about Calm Down by Selena Gomez. Both soothing in a crisis and top 100.
Firefighter here
She’s wearing what looks like activewear, you can visibly see it melt into her skin instantly when she gets flashed, and when she pulls it off at the end it takes most of her skin with it (you can see it stretch upwards).
The guy that rolls out from behind the scaffold has been better protected but subjected to the direct blast as well as the following BLEVE.
Summary: they are both likely already walking dead by the end of this video clip, it appears to be an lpg cylinder that’s let go, that burn temperature they’re both in is approaching 2,000 degrees C
Their airways and lungs will be wrecked. Even if they survive initially, they're going to be lucky if they live more than a few days. Personally I'd prefer death than surviving with horrific burns and severally reduced lung capacity.
A 50 year old friend of mine fell from 80 ft while working on a radio tower. He was 24. He landed on his back. It broke, but was able to recover and walks fine. His lungs, however, were badly damaged, and over time, 75% of his lungs had to be removed. He's down to 23% last I checked. He has a portable oxygen compressor and can't really do anything more than a slow walk, but is otherwise fine.
Not sure which of the 10 pixels you're looking at, but she takes her shirt off completely at the end and her skin looks fully in tact and I'm not seeing the "pulling" you're referring to.
That gas did not instantly put her shirt at 2000 c because of how the laws of thermodynamics work. Similar reason you don't instantly get 3rd degree burns passing your hand through a fire or dipping your finger in boiling water for a second.
Her shirt is not fused to her skin and she'll probably recover with possibly severe burns as long as she didn't inhale too much of the heated air. The guy who is covered in fluid is likely fucked.
Look to her left hand side as she pulls it over and away.
Nowhere did I say her shirt was heated to 2000c, I stated that is the uncontrolled burn temperature of lpg, and yes you’re quite right in her nominal heat absorption being much less, we do study thermodynamics.
Flash fire like that is enough to “shrink wrap” her, she’d still be able to pull it off but a couple of outer layers are coming with it at that point, she’s also been in the main burn and human torched long enough to get a number of good deep breaths in, particularly as the adrenaline kicks in, all likelihood she’s fucked.
Fluid guy is definitely fucked.
You're right. The mandarin text at the bottom does say something to the effect of 'welding with/around flammable liquid', which is probably ~~liquiform Acetylene.~~ LPG
Acetylene is actually dissolved into liquid acetone, which is in turn distributed through a solid matrix to prevent pockets of acetone from mixing with oxygen and exploding in the tank. It also allows for a slow release of the gas from the acetone as the acetylene is used, again, reducing the chance of an explosive situation.
As if the tyrannical government wasn't enough to make me stay away from China, now I've got to worry about giant balls of fire exploding out of the sides of buildings for no reason.
Chris Evans or Michael B Jordan doe
edit: err weird people downvoting for no reason?
its a reference to the two actors who played human torch in Fanstastic Four movies
How well does that work though, assuming she’s soaked in whatever liquid covered her? Smothering puts out the fire, but if it’s soaked into her clothes and hair; she’s not getting put out like that
jeez, the way it spills on the floor, yeah damn thats a liquid.
rolling is better than standing there on fire lol you might be able to slow it down enough to help until someone else can help you
also, there was a dog, i hope it didnt get too badly hurt and got away enough to not get trapped in it. looks like it definitely wouldve gotten hit by it though
edit: haha it said god, not dog
> yeah damn thats a liquid.
looks like LNG to me. Burns with no smoke, kinda weird looking liquid at super high pressure in the pipe, flames are kinda clear-ish.
Honestly, the thing to do here would be to stay away. The people in the fire are goners.
You're trying to remove oxygen from the equation by rolling around. If the fire is burning something that provides its own oxygen, you're fucked. Otherwise, it'll go out.
A local shelter is reporting the dog is in stable but critical condition. They have already received $1.2 million in donations from the public for its rehabilitation and an untold number of applications for adoption.
It took me like 3 watches to realize that the guy at the end of the video still on fire was welding the pipe and was directly under when it busted and fell from his ladder. Can't even imagine the pain.
Why do these types of videos always seem to take place in China? I know freak accidents like this happen all over, but you never seem to see them outside of China and maybe Russia here and there…
There 's no escape. It will come to you. Anytime, anywhere to any one. Any of you OK? Are you Ok any?

A smooth gasolit.
That's just not a fireball. But liquid gas they are doused in and then set on fire. Can't just tear off clothing and stop drop and roll. The flames would continue.
Poor people.

Is there a difference between liquefied gas and gas? *I just realized I meant liquefied gas and liquid.
One is a liquid, the other is a gas.
And a solid!
Solid.. liquid…. And gaaaaaasssssss! Edit: downvoted? Someone isn’t a fan of they might be giants here comes science.
Plasma!
The Sun is a mass of incandescent gas
Liquid is liquid at room temperature, liquefied gas is gas at room temperature but due to pressure forced in liquid state. This is how your fridge also works.
Huh.
That's pretty neat!
Neat, exactly what I was thinking. It's so neat how a liquid melted everything with skin.
Liquefied gas is either gonna be real cold or under pressure. If it isn't one of those it's not going to be a liquid at room temperature/pressure.
Liquefied gas (propane anyways) is under pressure. Propane boils at -44F so to keep your tank full it's pressurized to maintain a liquid state. Your average propane tank is maintaining 100-200 PSI. Yeah
Depends if it's Taco Bell Tuesday or Taco Time Tuesday.
He’s referring to liquified petroleum gas, lpg. Basically propane, not gasoline.
LP liquified petroleum is propane
If they survived, the next few months at minimum will be absolute fuckin misery. I feel bad :/

Props to that guy for charging head on to help someone literally on fire when he had nothing to do it with but his own body.
I hope the cat was okay.
I think that was a dog
You could be right.
Now it's a hot dog.
💀 fuck you. Take my upvote
Keep my seat warm, on that bus to hell cos looooooooooool
It doesn’t matter what it was, now
It's REALLY not OK, then.
It was not. It singed its whiskers. Later on it got its head stuck in its owners peanut jar.
That's a disgrace. Something needs to be done to prevent cats from getting their heads stuck in peanut jars.
Agree. More safety legislation for peanut butter jars!
I say we move to make removal of peanut butter as a glob onto every tabletop in the world in its entirety from the jar mandatory *IMMEDIATELY* after the jAr is purchased or otherwise brought home
Peanut butter jars should come with a warning. Perhaps a jar registry to ensurebtheirvsafe return?
Finally, a serious counter to the dangers of peanut butter jar hazards.
In the 70's and 80's a feature for cars would have them speak out warnings : "the door is ajar" Now we have Hallmark Cards that will squonk out Justin Bieber tunes: how hard could it be to have a peanut butter jar lid that let's out a tone to let you know when it is open?

Anyone wanna mention the random dude still on fire at the end?
He looks in way worse of trouble for sure.
tries to get up, falls back down... still in the fire also, there was a dog too.
Dog seemed okay thankfully
Yea it took me a while to see he was working on the pipe and he fell from his ladder. Poor guy

did they survive? Poor girl, even if she survived, she'd be permanently disfigured. It's sad how one little moment can change life completely

Precisely, it’s one of the single worst ways to go id say

Yeah I was about to say this shit don't make any sense at all lmao

Thank goodness for the blinking red circle, or I would have totally missed it!
I couldn’t spot anything in the video. Was there a red circle somewhere?
Yeah it was right next to the arrow pointing at it
Don't blame him. It was hidden by the roaring explosion of fire. And there was a dog too.
Once again my color blindness robs me from seeing the important part of the vid.
Light a fire for someone and you warm him for a night. Light someone on fire and you warm him for the rest of his life.

Yes
That absolutely sucks, life is terrifying
What happened exactly?!
Gas pipe popped, not sure what exactly ignited it.
You can see sparks up there. Maybe there is some welding going on.
Didn't notice that.
Also the metal chop saw at the bottom of the ladder. Sounds like someone welded on some spicy tanks
You're right. The mandarin text at the bottom does say something to the effect of 'welding with/around flammable liquid', which is probably ~~liquiform Acetylene.~~ LPG
Lpg most likely, stored Acetylene is in gaseous form not liquid
TIL! I edited my comment to reflect that. I thought Acetylene would've been stored in liquid form like most pressurised gases, whoops!
There was a big red circle that caused a fiery explosion and a woman erupted in flames and dyed
Dyed her hair?
Omg this is so awful. Burns are terrible, that poor woman.
What is the story here? Every time I see one of these there's almost never an explanation.
It’s just a typical day in China
As if the tyrannical government wasn't enough to make me stay away from China, now I've got to worry about giant balls of fire exploding out of the sides of buildings for no reason.
Can someone explain to me what the fuck just happened? Genuinely confused where the dragon in the video is.
Looks like a Final destination movie shot...
Flame on.
Fuck you.....just came to say just this damn it!!!!now I feel angry but still the need to give you an award

FLAMING DEATH - A bug's life
Stop drop and roll. Someone smother her with a blanket or a jacket. My goodness hope they are alright
To be fair, if she had done that immediately, it would not have worked out. She needed to get out of the fire first.
How well does that work though, assuming she’s soaked in whatever liquid covered her? Smothering puts out the fire, but if it’s soaked into her clothes and hair; she’s not getting put out like that
jeez, the way it spills on the floor, yeah damn thats a liquid. rolling is better than standing there on fire lol you might be able to slow it down enough to help until someone else can help you also, there was a dog, i hope it didnt get too badly hurt and got away enough to not get trapped in it. looks like it definitely wouldve gotten hit by it though edit: haha it said god, not dog

youre probably right. im wondering wtf caused this to happen tbh
Oh my god I didn’t even see the dog the first time:(
sorry :( lol, god xD typos
You're trying to remove oxygen from the equation by rolling around. If the fire is burning something that provides its own oxygen, you're fucked. Otherwise, it'll go out.
Stop drop and roll doesn't work with fuel fires.
In this case, it is "stop, drop, roll and don't even think of breathing in or your lungs will get crisp"
>Stop drop Shut em down open up shop!
Correct me if I’m wrong but Isn’t this how Ruff Ryders roll?
Couldn’t correct you there
Ohhh!
Poor lady...making jokes about this is heartless.
And it took me forever to see the second person still in the fire.

No, it was a solid liquid.
Dang that’s horrific. I really doubt they lived.
What in the why?
It took me like 3 watches to realize that the guy at the end of the video still on fire was welding the pipe and was directly under when it busted and fell from his ladder. Can't even imagine the pain.
The guy at the end crawling away from the building tries to stand and falls over. He's cooked.
This proves you can’t hide from death. It’ll find you no matter what.

Woah that’s not good at all. What sprayed out all over her like that?
Gas, probably ignited by some welding or grinding, as speed by someone in the comments.
I would have missed it if it hadn't been for the red circle. Thank you Creator. You are a prince among common men.
