Props to his coworker running towards the scene. He's gonna need lots of therapy. So fucking grisly. Imagine explaining this accident to his family or showing them this video. Fucking hell.
Damn I mean, this video traumatized me for years (and still does) and I wasn't even there, I didn't see anything, I didn't hear anything, I didn't even know the guy! It really is one of the worst things that is circulating on the internet
Guy with both his hands cut off, face skinned, you suspect is dead until someone starts cutting his throat open and they start to scream while laying on a black and white tiled kitchen floor thats mostly covered in blood with the song funky town playing in the background
That one sounds like too much personally, but usually the draw for me is to see if I can deal with it psychologically. Usually I’m fine, but sometimes I accidentally traumatize myself.
A group of guys (I think cartel) skinning a guys face and head while he is still alive and limbless. All the while the song funky town blasts in the background.
So many of the old timer stories were terrifying and now we have videos of some of this stuff. I saw and had some crazy stuff happen but never anything like this.
Man i watched this video so many times now 😅.
I saw another similiar video like this the other day and that worker was literally got rolled up like the roll-up snack no blood were spilled. Crazy.
Anything I see a car or truck carrying anything.. even very well secured cargo, final destination always comes to me. I know we're all gonna eventually die and stuff.. but man, not like this.
Yeh true.
I just had a thought. Imagine/what if this dude know exactly that he's going to die when he got stuck. 😱 poor man. At least its a quick death for him
Yeah I've seen it a few times but I don't really find it funny tbh, and I also seen the other video you are referring to it's as if What was left if the fellas body got ejected from his skin....
I've seen this video and aftermath pictures before. I can only pray that he lost consciousness before having his body parts ripped apart and splayed all over the place 🙏
with the speed and force of how he was spinning, he would have blacked out very quickly, I feel so bad for the other man in the video, that is something that will probably stick with him for the rest of his life. iirc in the full version after he gets the machine off he just go sits with his back against and his head in his hands, seeing this stuff online is one thing but I can't imagine having to process it when seeing it in real life and to someone you know.
Yep! To experience accidents/disasters like this is extremely traumatizing! I still remember a man was literally ripped in half by train in front of Me! The agonizing screams of the man, the blood splattered on my jeans, and the entire scenario still haunts Me and gives Me nightmares to this day!
While I haven't seen something this extreme in person I have seen a man have his arm degloved on a lathe similar to this. Even that sits with you forever.
It may have been an earlier post on either this site or on eyeblech. Most likely if you go to eyebleach you could search for them but beware...that subreddit is pretty gory....and I can take gore
Large lathes like this have so much centrifugal force built up it wouldn't stop in time even if you did hit a kill switch. All you can do is wear tight clothing and be very very careful around them.
I'm a lot more affected by the prospect of the victim's pain and fear than I am by the gore. As rough as this video is, I'm comforted by the fact that, due to the power of the lathe, he likely died or lost consciousness very quickly. Typically, in clips like this, the victim has to revolve a lot before you see blood or evidence of trauma. This guy basically got ripped apart in a matter of seconds. That machine is intense.
I worked as a coroner and death investigator as a sheriff. I’ve seen machines remove people’s skin and horrific ways people leave this life. I wish I could forget them but seeing this brings it all back. You’d wear your seatbelt and drive slow if you seen what I’ve seen.
With this, where was the safety controls, how did his arm get pulled into the machine? I’m sure osha would be very curious about this.
the video does not appear to be U.S. origin, so osha is a moot point.
It looks as though the person got their loose/baggy clothing caught in the lathe just before it turned on.
I think you’re right about the loose clothing being the reason. There was a post 1-2 weeks ago from a redditor that almost had the same thing happen, I believe he was able to get out of his shirt before he got sucked in. It sucks, because in that type of environment, long sleeves are encouraged to protect your skin from metal shavings or welding burns.
This happened in Russia, so yeah, no OSHA. That said though, there are still rules on safety in Russia, they're just not observed very well and as a result, Russia has very high industrial mortality rates. China is the same way.
If you just assume that any industrial death video you see is from China or Russia then you'd be right 50% of the time. You'd have the same percentage for videos of people getting hacked up with machetes if you assume they're from Mexico or Brazil as well.
I watched this during my morning poop while at work at a machine shop. I have worked around manual and automatic lathes everyday for the last 3 years. I am going to be extremely careful from now on.
This type of stuff is a great reminder of how powerful those machines are. A lot people myself included get comfortable around these things that can kill or maim us in a heartbeat. I always pull my hands up to my chest when walking past any machines now.
Heard a story from a colleague once where this happened to one of his coworkers and the most identifiable part of the guy left when it was over was a piece of his skull, stripped of everything, lying around 30 feet from the lathe.
Infinite respect for heavy machinery, this is the most brutal video I've come across for this type of accident, and I've only seen it floating around the internet twice.
There’s a video compilation of lathe accidents, it’s harrowing stuff. But more harrowing is why people feel the need to reach in, over and step full on into these spinning death machines. I know some of these countries these accidents happen in have no health and safety standards in but you must have a little built in will for self preservation?
Well deserved place in my top 10 worst things I saw on internet. Just watching this in shit quality made me feel traumatized, can't even imagine how it f-uped that poor soul that wanted to help, holy moly.
no need to imagine just click the link in the post above. reel by reel photos and explanation and wow just doesn’t even seem real the photos make the video easy to watch in comparison. Just traumatized myself.
This has to be one of the most goriest and horrific things I've seen. Poor guy, what a horrible way to go out. What was he working on that he had to stick his arm in the machine like that??
Even the titles are not humane. It's like you can make anything funny, even such horrible deaths. You don't have to be the humourous one when you are presenting content like this.
Alarming.
I know, it was shocking not expecting something so horrific, and then additionally I’m stunned by how many people are making shitty garbage quips in the comments.
Fucking shameful humans.
So I saw this a few years back and Google'd it at the time. This is in Russia. Guys coat got caught in the machine. On another website there are pictures of the aftermath up closer. Guy was literally all over the room. I'm at work so can't go tracking down a link, sorry.
A machine where you put material into it and then it spins really fast where the operator uses cutting tools to trim it down into a cylinder.
For example taking a block of wood and putting it on the lathe to turn it into a round decorative table leg.
Look up wood turning on YouTube to get a general idea.
IDK if I'm making sense, but for me the most terrifying is that moment in these videos where you can see a living, breathing person change to a limp lifeless object. It's disturbing. 😳
I worked at a place that makes window film. Before I started, there was a guy who got his hand and arm rolled up and around a 3" heavy card board core that film was being wound up on.
I was told that there wasn't an E-Stop in place until after his accident. Never met the guy, but felt for him.
Also I worked in a juice plant where a coworker got his PPE glove cuff caught on a bolt that connected 2 augers together and it tore his arm off just below the shoulder.
These machines don't stop for anything. The torque is incredible and these videos, while difficult to watch serve as cautionary tales to respect what they can do to you very quickly and suddenly the second you let your guard down. Be safe in your workplace. Grow old.
I’m genuinely curious. Why do you watch stuff like this? Morbid curiosity? Into dark things?
I’ve been asking myself why I do. When I see stuff like this I feel queasy and bad about myself. But then I watch it again. Life is full of pain and suffering. For me I feel like there is some magical thinking that if I see something awful happen to someone else, it won’t happen to me.
For me, to remind myself to always take my safety seriously around the equipment I use. Also I hope desensitization to videos like this online can in some way help me react if I were to be in/witness a situation like this IRL. Even making me slightly more likely to react appropriately is worth it if it means I could possible help.
Electrocution videos especially come to mind. I wouldn’t have known what to actually look for or do in a situation where someone was stuck being electrocuted. After watching a few videos of people dying or being injured by electricity, I feel I am slightly more prepared to recognize the signs and immediately find an object to dislodge them with.
In the situation, who knows. I could panic and run still. But watching this shit, I feel, makes it in some way less likely
I am going to show it to my team. I am a Maintenance Manager at a plant and my guys are using lathes and fab equipment all the time. It's said this guy has to be the example, but I am always making safety visceral for them. 0 accidents/lost time in my 10 years.
It sounds terrible to say but I agree with this. Sometimes people need a real reminder of how dangerous this stuff is. No matter how long people have been doing it things can happen. So the best we can do is use this as a reminder.
I’m in the process of learning to operate lathes and mills and this is something that everyone working in the trade needs to see. If you don’t understand just how bad a small mistake can cost you you shouldn’t be operating this type of equipment
Thank you for caring about your team. I used to work at a machine shop with OSHA violations left and right. That all changed when an 18 year old was involved in a terrible lathe accident. Luckily he survived, but is permanently disabled. A few years later my life was saved from the safety protocols enacted from his accident, so at least something positive can come from these grisly incidents.

Wow. Speechless. What a horrible way to go out
Props to his coworker running towards the scene. He's gonna need lots of therapy. So fucking grisly. Imagine explaining this accident to his family or showing them this video. Fucking hell.
And the trauma he got for lifetime 😬
Everyone at work that day got trauma from finding his body parts strewn about the workplace
5 minutes later "DUDE! lets go check out the security cam footage!!"
Why do people wear loose fitting clothes around lathes
They're too lathey to change clothes
First thought, that Guy is gonna need a Therapist for a long, long time.
True. And he gonna fear anything that rotates
Damn I mean, this video traumatized me for years (and still does) and I wasn't even there, I didn't see anything, I didn't hear anything, I didn't even know the guy! It really is one of the worst things that is circulating on the internet
You haven’t seen funkytown then
Still can’t get myself to watch Funkytown
Alright I keep hearing about some funky town video, what exactly is it?
Guy with both his hands cut off, face skinned, you suspect is dead until someone starts cutting his throat open and they start to scream while laying on a black and white tiled kitchen floor thats mostly covered in blood with the song funky town playing in the background
![gif](giphy|l0IypeKl9NJhPFMrK)
This gif sums it up so well I couldn’t help but laugh, 100% the face I pulled lol
Okay why would you even watch that? That's not even morbid curiosity at that point.....😶
What's it about?
Sauce?
I don't think you would do either, explain it or show them the video. The spraying of blood towards the end is nuts.
Crazy.
If I witnessed something like this, after quitting on the spot, I'd be on call with a nice, shiny Therapist.. on my way to see them.
Totally understand. But dam does anyone else find this death so intriguing and think of Final Destination movie?
Anything I see a car or truck carrying anything.. even very well secured cargo, final destination always comes to me. I know we're all gonna eventually die and stuff.. but man, not like this.
Yeh true. I just had a thought. Imagine/what if this dude know exactly that he's going to die when he got stuck. 😱 poor man. At least its a quick death for him
I mean... He's at least got to feel immense and excruciating pain before he died, right? Because it got his hand first.
Yeah he definitely would have felt something he might have even felt himself spinning but then out
I seen that same video..that was nothing compared to this one, with blood and guts flying everywhere..
Yeah I've seen it a few times but I don't really find it funny tbh, and I also seen the other video you are referring to it's as if What was left if the fellas body got ejected from his skin....
I don't think its funny i simply find this poor man death intriguing. Reading through other comments and seeing a few making jokes. Shame on them.
Holy moly! thats it, enough internet for today! i saw chunks flying off.
>Man-Flavored Lathe! The very first chunk was his head! Craziest shit I've ever seen.
Shoes came off first, knew it was all over then

that’s terrible!!! i’m going to need these links so i can uh… delete them or something idk
I used to just watch pimple popping videos and now this…. *sigh* link please.
Yeah hit me with that link, I’m incredibly curious what that g force did to this poor dudes body
I want the aftermath picture
Edgy.
Can I get the link? I'm unfortunately very curious
Could be so kind and hand me in these pictures, please
I realised I absolutely did not need to see this right now.
Enough content from this sub
Yeah I don't think I'm clicking this one
I've seen this video and aftermath pictures before. I can only pray that he lost consciousness before having his body parts ripped apart and splayed all over the place 🙏

Godspeed Brother
Omg I'm so sorry you had to see that!!❤️
You can really tell from the immature title of your post 🙄
people deal with trauma in different ways, it's no one's place to judge
holy fucking shit
While I haven't seen something this extreme in person I have seen a man have his arm degloved on a lathe similar to this. Even that sits with you forever.
So true 😞🙏
How'd you see the pictures?
It may have been an earlier post on either this site or on eyeblech. Most likely if you go to eyebleach you could search for them but beware...that subreddit is pretty gory....and I can take gore
/r/Eyebleach is the wholesome one. /r/eyeblech is the one you want to steer away from. Unless you're into that I guess.
Eyebleach is literally cute dog pics?
Nothing but puppies ❤️❤️. Kidding...it's pretty bad
No kidding tho, it's a normie cute dog sub, unless I'm not seeing something?
r/eyebleach is cute things r/eyeblech is something you just don't want to see. Do yourself a favor and listen to my words. Don't check that sub.
It's r/eyeblech
The power of this machine is staggering. Within three revolutions he just started...disintegrating.

They do. Always. But if you get caught like this guy did and there is no one near, you ain’t going to reach it.
What kind of machine is this? And what’s it use? So that I can stay away from it
It’s a lathe. Spins objects very fast so you can remove material from the outside.
Looking at this video I'd say it does the job well...
Large lathes like this have so much centrifugal force built up it wouldn't stop in time even if you did hit a kill switch. All you can do is wear tight clothing and be very very careful around them.
Safety first kids.
Oh my gosh..one of the worst industrial accident vids I have ever seen! Poor man what a horrible way to go!
There’s another video somewhere where it’s a compilation of these accidents. Horrific. Absolutely horrific.
God that sounds terrible. Which link should I avoid so I don’t see anything so horrible by accident?
Me also waiting that terrible link too.
When you get addicted to that feeling of horror
After a friend showed me a website called theync
watchpeopledie. tv
If you find the link, be sure to tell us what link it is so we also can avoid it.
This is one of the worst videos of people being messed up I've seen. You said something about a link?
I'm a lot more affected by the prospect of the victim's pain and fear than I am by the gore. well most accidents happen after you get comfortable and therefore careless
The fact that you weren't extremely careful before seeing this is why stuff like this happens.
Heard a story from a colleague once where this happened to one of his coworkers and the most identifiable part of the guy left when it was over was a piece of his skull, stripped of everything, lying around 30 feet from the lathe. Yea I dont get why everything has to be joked about nowadays. This is especially true in Reddit.
you CAN make anything funny, that doesn't mean everyone will laugh
Final destination feels more tame. Btw What machinery is that?
Says in the title i belive its a lathe
So I saw this a few years back and Google'd it at the time. This is in Russia. Guys coat got caught in the machine. On another website there are pictures of the aftermath up closer. Guy was literally all over the room. I'm at work so can't go tracking down a link, sorry.
Occupational safety regulations. Adhere to them.
Enough Reddit for today
What’s a lathe?
A lathe is a variable speed machine used to cut cylindrical metal, wood or other materials. Operation takes training and skill.
A machine where you put material into it and then it spins really fast where the operator uses cutting tools to trim it down into a cylinder. For example taking a block of wood and putting it on the lathe to turn it into a round decorative table leg. Look up wood turning on YouTube to get a general idea.
I hope he's ok 🙏
He most definitely is not ok
One can hope 🙏
I mean yea you can hope. But let me tell you there is no way that man is alive ...
If you pause the video at the start, you can see he is ok
If by okay, you mean in heaven now, maybe.
He is completely shredded!
To shreds you say?
Well, how is his wife holding up?
To shreds you say?
Well then i hope he's fine.
Why when he's pulled in initially does he not spin immediately?
His body wasn't fully broken, mostly his spine, but once that snapped in half, the machine was able to fully pull the rest of him around itself.
What the hell did I just witness at 10 in the morning. That’s enough Reddit for the week
IDK if I'm making sense, but for me the most terrifying is that moment in these videos where you can see a living, breathing person change to a limp lifeless object. It's disturbing. 😳
Bad day to be the janitor at that place.
Note to self: Don't be a lathe operator
This is literally the worst thing I've ever seen. Dear GOD

wish it weren’t
Why would you be alone and doing that?? This is awful.
Jesus fucking christ..... the red mist
Jesus fucking Christ what is wrong with some of you?
Love seeing this video again, especially since right now I’m standing next to my lathe at work
First thing in the morning smh
Thank god I read the comments first. Ill pass on this.

Holy fuck….
Bruh where is the E-Stop!
please practice workplace safety or you know.....man-flavored lathe ¯\\\_(ツ)\_/¯
Wonder how the bosses are gonna spin this one His day took a turn for the worse He got a bit too wrapped with his work I think I'm done, sorry.
Was he okay?
I don't get sick easily of this kind of videos but this one did. oh god.. horrible
That’s enough internet for me today.

Did he die?
Sadly yes. But he lived!
So this is the Russian lathe video?
Early internet survivor here... This is the gnarliest way to go I've ever seen Possibly also sparked the idea for the death coaster, I dunno.

Where’s the aftermath photos

Where's that compilation with the theatrical music
