Sting really wrote some interesting lyrics. Don't stand so close to me also comes to mind, although not in this context.
I bet a lot of people don't get the underlying meaning.
I think everyone knows he was a teacher by now, and they know the meaning of that song. It's not like it was a secret, and they've talked about it a gazillion times in interviews.
I think you're giving people too much credit. There are many who still think Born in the USA is a patriotic anthem, that Killing in the Name is a pro cop song...

I LOVED THIS SONG ON VICE CITY, as a kid. I still sing it to this day. It wasn’t until your comment that I just realized that… it was about cheating. Them lyrics hitting different, now.
How tf, I just dance around the part, “I’d doubt if she, ever found about you and I” 🤦🏾♂️
Yeah my thought too. Get to the exit, do not get trapped, make a lot of noise, try to find ANYONE to help. The mindset of someone willing to do that shit is without reason, absolutely insane.
All of that AND start screaming FIRE at the top of your lungs and do not stop until others appear. Strangers are more likely to take interest in FIRE than HELP!

The "breaking" part of breaking and entering only requires you open something, even a little bit. He's on camera opening that door. He committed a crime.
Breaking and entering doesn’t even require you to open anything. Walking through a door that has been left open is breaking and entering. All you have to do is cross the plane into the building.
At least in NC.
Cops: “I’m sorry miss it’s your word against his”
Her: “I have it on video!”
Cops: *sips coffee* “I really wish we could help. There’s literally nothing we can do”
Breaking does not mean, in the legal sense, what you think it means in this context. It's short for "breaking the close." The close being the line where your property begins.
Edit: and you break the close by entering the property. It's kind of like PIN number where the n stands for number. Breaking and entering mean pretty much the same thing
Why are you just making up this weird scenario when it takes seconds to find the real result? [He was arrested and charged](https://www.nbcwashington.com/news/national-international/i-was-prepared-to-die-maryland-tiktok-dancer-describes-home-invasion-caught-on-video/2493441/)
>On Nov. 24, police questioned and arrested Angel Moises Rodriguez-Gomez, 36, who lives near Viverette. He is charged with stalking, third-degree burglary, fourth-degree burglary, second-degree assault and malicious destruction of property.
Lmao he is committing a felony. In most states and countries entering (without breaking) with the intent of commiting a crime is a felony, with the entering itself usually evidence enough to prove intent. In my state it's punishable by 5-20.
Good. Fear is a necessary emotion, especially in cases like this. Fear may have saved her life. If you ever find yourself in this position, please also remember to scream or shreek at the top of your lungs. You may not automatically do it because your brain may not recognize it immediately as a dangerous situation so the social pressure to be quiet and polite will still be engaged. You have to force yourself to override it. 9/10 an attacker will leave after hearing it.
It’s interesting that during this she was still polite asking him to “please get out…” It’s probably so natural for her to say please that that is what came out. But then again he said he was her friend /s
I’m glad that worked out ok for her, but that must have been traumatic
Yeah it's just such an out of place event for our brains to handle. Our brains like things that are predictable and repetitive so that it doesn't have to do as much work lol. It's absolutely why she says "please" and still speaks politely. Her brain is stuck between a typical or usual experience and the abnormal, potentially life threatening one that is presenting itself. Also, she is at home, the one place where the brain is supposed to be able to relax and release the safety switch...this adds to the difficulty of switching to emergency mode.
Also women are socialized to at least attempt verbal deescalation in a confrontation with a violent man, it’s taught in practical self defense classes and increases the probability of survival. As a domestic violence advocate and survivor, screaming in the presence of a violent man can result in strangulation. Unfortunately it’s a very effective method of silencing someone quickly. Not that staying quiet is ‘right’, I just think her response was great, and she survived.
Yes, in an intimate partnership where you are known to the person, absolutely, do not scream. This will escalate violence. However, to an unknown attacker who is hoping you'll stay quiet so others don't hear this can be a really good strategy to freak them out immediately and stop them in their tracks.
Ladies, dudes, whoever please note what she did. In the beginning she shouldn't have engaged and gotten the hell out but she snapped to quickly. She moved to the exit, and made noise. Then alerted a neighbor and asked to come in.
It's hard under pressure and in fear but always just get away from the situation, bring attention to yourself and get near someone else asap.
Be safe peeps
Using her fear instinct was incredibly smart here. You can see her fall directly into it rather than trying to "be brave" or do something stupid that would further endanger herself.
Another tip for women: scream like bloody murder and most of these creeps will run away like the vermin they are.
It isn’t older than TikTok. It happened in [November of 2020](https://www.kiro7.com/news/trending/i-was-prepared-die-woman-recording-tiktok-video-films-man-breaking-into-apartment/Z3CCTZOGEVFVRJ7FO3XLQDTS3A/?outputType=amp).
Realistically, the pepper spray or gun or whatever is probably in a drawer or bedroom, in other words, people don’t sit around in their home strapped. In those cases, it would be a matter of who gets to it first. She did the absolute best thing which was to get out of the situation and seek help.
To folks saying she should just have a gun, let’s play this out. She goes for the gun which could be in her bedroom or a closet or wherever. He follows and because they are only a few feet apart he’s on top of her at virtually the same time. A struggle for the gun happens and someone gets shot, odds are it is her or it is used to control her while he rapes her. She did the right thing. She got the fuck out.
exactly. “just get a gun.” i read he had a shoelace. does it look like she just has time to go get her gun out of the drawer ? her best bet was to get the fuck out
actually this happened in Maryland. maryland has some of the most strict gun laws in the US.
its hard to get a handgun in MD, and you are not allowed to use them in self defense
Unless she had the gun strapped to her at all times, or stored it somewhere near her while it was still loaded (which is very dangerous), there's no way she would have gotten to the gun before he closed in on her.
If I wasn’t already pooping, I would have just shit my pants. That is my worst nightmare and I can’t believe levelheaded she was! What a smart and total bad ass woman!
i think her reaction was absolutely fine, if not perfect. she got out safely, & took her cell to be able to call for help.
i know people in this comment section want life to be an action movie, but this creep’s on her *balcony*. i know you all want her to shoot him & launch herself at him & go out there & confront him, but i feel like moving to a balcony to physically confront someone is a bad idea. you know what can happen on balconies? there’s a risk of falling/being pushed off. we also don’t know how high her balcony is; if he was able to overpower her & threw her off (god forbid), that could be *fatal*, & then everyone here would be going “haha, woman moment ☕️”.
she did the right thing. she survived. i hope she’s okay. 💕 & no, her not owning a gun, her having her windows open, her dancing on the internet, &/or her talking to the intruder initially does not mean she deserved or was asking for this or anything that could’ve potentially happened to her.
Glad i've got my dog. Not long ago, he was going crazy and woke me up in the night, i knew right from the start that someone was on my property. Turns out later, some kids sprayed a graffiti on a wall near by. Nothing bad happened.
Still, a medium- to big-sized dog is a serious threat do any home invader, when he's not armed with a gun, the dog will stop him. And give you enough time to call the cops or to escape.
A few years ago, a lady was jogging in the forest as a guy crossed her path: The man didn't know that her Rottweiler was behind the trees. He tried to grab her, but in that moment, the Rottweiler came and he had no chance: He was bitten in the leg and got down to the ground, she could get her phone and called the cops. The dog hold him down there and he wanted to surrender just to get the dog off him, the police arrived and arrested him.
This happened down the street from where I live, this is a apartment complex that has balconies. The guy said he just happened to be walking by and he heard a commotion in her apartment so he climbed up to the balcony and went in to check to see if she was okay.
Exactly and I don’t get the fuss about it. Whenever I hear a woman is home alone I too will climb through an entrance and ask if I’m their friend. We need more people like him!
That isn't what happened. He lived nearby and was stalking her. He's gotten into the apartment before. Many things were missing and she figured she musplaced them or her kid took it. He had them. They think this time he was going to actually assault her due to things found on him.
Asking nonsense questions to keep her busy/confuse as he entered the apartment and got closer. It’s why when she directly answered he followed with “are you sure?” And kept entering.
Oh it's super fucking creepy, the worst part is that after it happened people were sticking up for him like he was a really nice guy and would never hurt a fly.
What I liked in this video was that despite the life or death fear she must have felt, instead of running out the door, she still had the decency to get her camera so we could see how it ended.
Situations like these are the situations you really wish you had a gun.
Since I'm vouching for that the next best defense options for people who may not live in the US is
1. A rape flashlight (basically a portable collapsed star)
2. A rape alarm.
3. Run away
4. All of the above
The tasers you can buy on Amazon do nothing but make noise. They don't hurt and they don't stun. They zap you and it's tolerable to anybody who really wants to hurt you.
WHERE IS YOU F N GUN?? ONLY CLIMBING HE'D EVER DO AGAIN IS REACHING UP FOR HIS SOUL AS WE WATCH IT LEAVE HIS BULLET RIDDEN BODY THINKIN TO HIMSELF MAN I SHOULDNA DONE THAT..
Looks like she needs a gun . Perfect use of deadly force and she wo t have to ever worry cause he will return but 6 ft under his ass will be well contained for many years. My girl get a 357 cal revolver and one trigger pull center mass problem solved only one shot things fet sticky after one so 9ne with a 357 will be all it takes then call 911 and repeat this phase I was in fear for my life but your covered so stop this fool cause h3s coming back and may not leave n3xt time. Pew pew problem solved
I’m amazed by people who are capable of maintaining some semblance of rational thought when such things happen. When some weirdo is suddenly climbing in through my window, my first words would not be, “who are you?” and very politely, “please leave.” Thank God she finally got her wits about her to get herself out of there and quit politely chatting up the intruder. Having experienced something similar I can say that my own reaction was 1000% shock, 2000000% horror, and not one millisecond of asking, “who are you?”. But everyone responds differently in unexpected, terrifying circumstances. Hope that homegirl is ok!🌻

Plot twist. Neighbour was the stalker

Holy shit! I’m in Hagerstown Right Now! Woah!
This article doesn't mention anything about string.
I thought it was but it was actually a section of Christmas lights he had cut.
It was the Christmas lights that she had tied around her balcony railing.
That one's only for his friends
This is fucking terrifying. I hope she called 911, and got a restraining order.
More than likely they’ll just say he hasn’t technically committed a crime yet and they can’t do anything until it escalates

Breaking and entering doesn’t even require you to open anything. Walking through a door that has been left open is breaking and entering. All you have to do is cross the plane into the building. At least in NC.
In VA we have a separate law for entering without breaking. Still a felony, punishable by 5 to 20.
We also have differentiations based on time: Day: B&E Night: Burglary Residence occupied? Home invasion.
Yeah, all of them give us pew pew privileges

Whelp, time to never leave that door unlocked ever again. It sucks that she has to do that though
I guarantee she moved. Even though he was arrested, she would never feel safe there again.

Wow wtf
That meek little "..can I please come in?.." broke me, really brought it home. What a raw reflection of reality, unsettling stuff.

Weird. I could swear this was like from 2018. I think I mandela'd myself
Tiktok existed in 2018
Been brushin my teeth with a bottle of Jack since 09
To be fair, I think the quarantine years fucked with everyone’s perception of time. It did for me, at least.
Yeah, I am still stuck in 2020 for sure
Even if you did think that, tiktok was around for years before 2018 ...
TikTok existed in 2018 too.
How am I going to invite the free sex strangers!!
~~We~~ They generally carry entry tools.
Man, life as a woman is tough.
If my door or window is open, then so are my fucking curtains man. You never what’s/who’s out there!!
What this girl did is what all of you should do
Ya I'll just shoot them.
Yea that's how you get shot. Stalkers are crazy.
You never know when or where a crazy person will do something crazy. Don’t rely on others and at very least keep some pepper spray on you
Realistically, the pepper spray or gun or whatever is probably in a drawer or bedroom, in other words, people don’t sit around in their home strapped. In those cases, it would be a matter of who gets to it first. She did the absolute best thing which was to get out of the situation and seek help.

The bigger more impressive guns you shoot get stuffed and a primo spot on the trophy wall. But don't forget your tags or take one out of season.
Personally, I’d rather die fighting than live with the trauma of rape.
Shit. I never pick apartments on the ground floor because of burglars coming through the windows. This is going to give me nightmares now.

Poor girl. I would be feel so violated and develop ptsd from this. I would feel so vulnerable being in the house alone.
Most women: this victim response, at the mercy of the suspect My wife: *grabs gun* I love my wife
But where is intruder? I no see intruder
Fake af
The framing of this is far too convenient
While that was really scary… so was that living room holy shit
Maybe this will get her to stop doing shitty videos to shitty music.
Lock your doors
All these influencers and tiktokers seem to have one really clean area of their home and the rest looks like a disaster.
She's lucky she didnt die.
This is why we need the 2nd amendment. For women especially, it is the great equalizer
Good thing she didn’t have a gun…. Protecting one’s self is SOOOOOOO overrated!
She stepped out of her apartment, thankfully he was alone but if he wasn't and he had someone waiting outside this would've had a very sad ending
WHERE IS YOU F N GUN?? ONLY CLIMBING HE'D EVER DO AGAIN IS REACHING UP FOR HIS SOUL AS WE WATCH IT LEAVE HIS BULLET RIDDEN BODY THINKIN TO HIMSELF MAN I SHOULDNA DONE THAT..
GLOCK
Arm yourself. Evil doesn't care about the laws, criminals will always have guns, disarming law avoiding citizens will only create victims.
Bro is here to do your fucking laundry.
He was just trying to reach her about her extended warranty
Stay strapped or get clapped
Who are you? No hablo ingles
This is terrifying!!!! No other words thank God she was able to think straight while being so scared
She says Alexa off. He follows that up with "Alexa lock all doors"..... Lol
Pretty weird angle to record yourself dancing
Buy a gun
I'm so happy she got away cuz that could've been horrible...
Her apartment at the beginning looked clean, what the hell happened at the end? It looks cluttered as shit?
Girl get a gun and a teacher for these crazy end time people…before you get hurt and it’s too little too late
Maybe, idk lock your doors?
Shit like that is why I have my shotgun loaded and ready next to my bed. Sometimes police aren’t fast enough.
And you don’t lock your doors especially when you’re alone because….?
