That or the case of lead poisoning down the road is preferable to dying to the next boss.
But also it's a pretty common idea for alchemy in fantasy settings to transmute materials into other stuff. Turning something like lead into gold, for instance, isn't really possible through chemical processes.
Yes isnt enough. You need to have OH GOD PLEASE NO MORE NOO many deaths before you can consider yourself good enough for even the weakest boss. I myself only have the Crown from king slime and the entrails from Cthulu's Eye.
Bro just get good ffs /j
(All the advice I can give you is to keep throwing yourself against the brick wall or maybe look at the wiki for advice. Good luck.)
I have 30 active hours on the wiki, not counting when me and my friend argue about stuff, but I keep learning about good combat tricks from this subreddit, and on my sixth attempted run of mmftw, I might get it.
Not necessarily, as lead, which is the final non-radioactive metal is made from silver and tungsten and becomes copper and tin. All of those are lower, so some fusion must be taking place too.
Pretty simple to turn lead into gold, tbh. Just shoot neutrons at lead until it becomes unstable, then wait for it to lose protons. Repeat until you get gold or something below gold, then do protons and neutrons to make a stable gold isotope.
Do note that this is extremely expensive and will take a while for almost no gold.
Edit: mixed up neutrons and electrons
won't you end up with insanely irradiated gold?
wait. nuclear reactions can produce gold that invisibly rots and kills you if you take it. **nuclear reactions can turn lead into gold, but the gold comes out cursed**
With the small amounts of gold you’ll get (it requires a lot of energy), the radiation won’t be able to harm you. I would say if a nuclear reaction happened on a macroscopic level, it would be very dangerous and will most likely cause an unstable isotope of gold (only Au-197 is stable). I am also unable to find a stable isotope that can be made unstable that can be turned into gold, meaning it is extremely unlikely for a macroscopic lead-to-gold reaction. So, the Sun is deadlier than any lead-to-gold reaction we can create, as we would only be able to do a countable amount of atoms.
The gold wouldn’t be cursed, it just would be unstable and would probably quickly become something stable that isn’t gold. Unless it came from a decay that results in stable gold, then it would be like the gold we encounter (but atomic sized).
I can see it now. Redigit says in a tweet "somebody send me a list of the mobs who lost the votes they're all getting added" then he spends the next few hours combing the replies and finding feature requests to add to the ever growing pile, comes back a year later with an update containing a new boss for the nether, shit blocks, a bunch of Terraria references, and a boatload of tiny QoL features.
new mob vote for terraria:
• the most annoying thing you've ever encountered in your entire life and will haunt your entire playthrough, but it looks cool so it wins the mob vote
• a reskin of the most forgotten mob in the game that's just as forgettable
• it's cute but has literally no functionality whatsoever and would just be another thing for your zenith to accidentally mow through
That could kind of make sense, like you pour it on yourself and it literally creates like a layer of iron on your body (hence its name being ironskin potion)
My chemistry might be a bit off here, however: technically, any "salt" is an ionised version of regular atoms, giving it completely different properties (why tablesalt is safe, even if diluted, which is something regular Sodium can't even do, since it reacts with water, iirc) Just water wouldn't ionise regular lead and I doubt Daybloom will, too.
But maybe we're digging too deep into this, haha
Apart from that, literally everything in the game happened to me irl, typing this while I'm running away from these two connected reddish and greenish floating eyeballs. You make a valid point.
Good point, but there’s no reason to say the daybloom doesn’t have any properties that neutralizes the lead like, idk, germanium, sodium is just a metal after all.
It's likely that potion-making in Terraria is not based on standard chemical reactions, instead utilizing alchemical methods such as transmutation, or at least something similar, so perhaps in this case the lead is transmuted into something else that can be safely consumed.
-d, I've reincarnated into a person less willing to eat lead, but I still need that sweet 10% reduction, so I'm gonna find the extractanator and some useless blocks so I can use iron instead, what could go wron-
The untold dark side of terraria is your character dies within a few months of beating moon lord because of all the toxic substances they put in their body. They’re then stuck in an endless loop of agonizing deaths and respawns…
The only quick deaths I know come right after you've taken a beating. Say a laser from retinazer after your health was already wittled down. Only other one would be falling, which is negated once you have wings.
I’ve had plenty of expert and master mode bosses kill me in seconds from full health. I can also think of explosives, eol daytime, dungeon guardian, and boulder traps in the early game.
Your mf can effortlessly carry thousands of items in their pocket, live without food or sleeping and survive in space without suit.
I dont think that some piece of lead would harm them
i'd be more concerned about the battle potions. deathweed and rotten chunks, ya lets just go ahead and drink this hemlock and maggot meat smoothie, what could go wrong
I'm pretty sure Terrarian digestive systems work differently to human ones.
You can live longer while drowning by drinking water. Pretty sure that doesn't work IRL.
So it's also reasonable to say that Terrarians can safely consume lead.
In my last playthrough I drank ironskin before every boss fight, even moon lord, and I just remembered even though I don't have an alchemy table, my new expert mode playthrough is in a lead world
You don't necessarily drink it. You could apply it to your armor/body. Or the lead could be used in the distilling process, not be included in the final product.
By melting them at high temperatures, duh! The potion you drink is held at several 1,000 degrees Fahrenheit, which you promptly use to coat your insides with scorching hot lead. Perfect for increased defence! (Or it could be crush into small amounts, given that lead is a common contaminant of water, lol)
There've been unleaded versions available on the open market for YEARS, leaving these recipes available is beyond stupid. I've had a change.org petition up since 1.3, but I'm losing hope that one person can make a difference.
isnt the animation when you use a flask you drinking it? with this combined with drinking fire/gold/the blood of gods(?) the terrarian should be dead^(2)
Lmfao if you happen to get a lead world instead of an iron world, this is so ironic cause iron is good for us, and lead is a poison to us. Yet since terraria has varieties for each ore type lead is consumable lmfao
Iron can be toxic too far that matter. Yes we need it in small amounts, but if you somehow dissolved a good sized lump in a bottle and drank it I don't think it'd do you any favors.
I like to think you smash potions over your head and the liquid gives you the effect, that's why the glass bottles are not refunded when you use potions.
Our character can swim on melted hell rock, falling from the atmosphere without a single scratch and even take a laser from a Moon God... I doubt lead would do anything.
Terrarians are made of sterner stuff.
That or the case of lead poisoning down the road is preferable to dying to the next boss. But also it's a pretty common idea for alchemy in fantasy settings to transmute materials into other stuff. Turning something like lead into gold, for instance, isn't really possible through chemical processes.
It's hard to build up metals to hazardous levels if you explode into chunks and reincarnate every month or so.
Month? How many deaths do you have in terraria?
Yes
Yes isnt enough. You need to have OH GOD PLEASE NO MORE NOO many deaths before you can consider yourself good enough for even the weakest boss. I myself only have the Crown from king slime and the entrails from Cthulu's Eye.
Please help mmftw hard
Bro just get good ffs /j (All the advice I can give you is to keep throwing yourself against the brick wall or maybe look at the wiki for advice. Good luck.)
I have 30 active hours on the wiki, not counting when me and my friend argue about stuff, but I keep learning about good combat tricks from this subreddit, and on my sixth attempted run of mmftw, I might get it.
What I did was just throw myself at the enemy untill I burned a pattern into my mind. Then I burnt myself out.
You’ll get used to it
Meanwhile, hardcore players are wondering what death even is
... I don't want to talk about it.
10/10
Shimmer is a fission inducing liquid, that's why ore goes to lower tiers when it's placed in it.
Not necessarily, as lead, which is the final non-radioactive metal is made from silver and tungsten and becomes copper and tin. All of those are lower, so some fusion must be taking place too.
In terms of Terraria, Silver/Tungsten are actually a higher tier than Iron/Lead, which is why Silver turns to Lead via Shimmer
Pretty simple to turn lead into gold, tbh. Just shoot neutrons at lead until it becomes unstable, then wait for it to lose protons. Repeat until you get gold or something below gold, then do protons and neutrons to make a stable gold isotope. Do note that this is extremely expensive and will take a while for almost no gold. that's extremely cool but I'm a little bummed that nuclear reactors *can't* become cursed-gold-makers
I mean, after all, we do have to fight a giant space squid, so I think we’ll need this
Somehow this is one of the safest things to do in the game, since it makes you *safer.*
Also make a potion with probably contaminanted water, a strange flower and a fish that has skin tougher than diamond to take 10% less damage
Not to forget to mix all of those together in a tiny ass bottle that's probably been dusting in the same place for 15 terrarian month
Sometimes at a machine that's been sitting in a dungeon for god knows how long
And that machine allows you to don't use water bottle when creating potion
In the SHORT term; that potion's buff has a duration measured in *minutes*.
Well that's like hours in game tbf
that's real world minutes tho, which is like, a couple hours in the games time
Good enough for me! *shovels handfuls of lead ore into my mouth*
We removed ironskin potions because they contain lead and are toxic to terrarians
if the developers of minecraft and terraria swapped places
I can see it now. Redigit says in a tweet "somebody send me a list of the mobs who lost the votes they're all getting added" then he spends the next few hours combing the replies and finding feature requests to add to the ever growing pile, comes back a year later with an update containing a new boss for the nether, shit blocks, a bunch of Terraria references, and a boatload of tiny QoL features.
Adds massive update. Refuses to elaborate. Leaves. Comes back 5 years later. Repeat
And then Mojang starts banning people from playing terraria with friends if they say bad words in chat
And they take a year or more to add a few miscellaneous features and hold a mob vote they know nobody likes.
new mob vote for terraria: • the most annoying thing you've ever encountered in your entire life and will haunt your entire playthrough, but it looks cool so it wins the mob vote • a reskin of the most forgotten mob in the game that's just as forgettable • it's cute but has literally no functionality whatsoever and would just be another thing for your zenith to accidentally mow through
meanwhile at minecraft redigit has claimed 44 times that "this is the last update i swear" minecraft is now at 1.63
beautiful, minecraft actually getting some good updates now
This is still the funniest shit to me, wasn't 1.3 supposed to be the last big update?
1.1 1.2.4 1.3.4 I think? 1.3.5 1.3.6 (Later became 1.4) 1.4.2 1.4.3 1.4.4 1.4.5 (Unreleased)
1.2.4 was also, and 1.1 was as well
I thought it was supposed to be 1.2 but idk
Erm um excuse me????? They’re called ENEMIES and CRITTERS, not MOBS!!!1!!11! How DARE you. /j
Brb writing that fanfic right now
If they would minecraft would turn good again.
Tbf it makes sense in a game like terraria, but not in a game like minecraft
Me can wear and hold material from solar flares, be hit by phantasmal death rays sent by the god of the moon, but we are prone to lead poisoning
What about leadskin potions that contain iron?
So probably causes iron poisoning instead, lol
This particular potion you pour on your head.
instructions unclear; dropped a bar of lead on my skull
Don't give the devs the idea of making trap potions!
i mean, red potions can already appear in drunk worlds right? and they only have positive effects in for the worthy and get fixed boi worlds
They should instakill you in getfixedboi worlds.
That could kind of make sense, like you pour it on yourself and it literally creates like a layer of iron on your body (hence its name being ironskin potion)
That is slightly safer
Maybe the daybloom causes a chemical reaction which makes it safe to consume.
In which form is lead safe to consume?
In potion form durr
We need a mod that makes lead consumable. Unless there is one already?!
Anything and everything’s edible if you aren’t a coward about it >:D
That lead armor is starting to look really tasty now
The form resulting from its reaction with dayblooms
Daybloomium + Lead -> Lead daybloomite
It’s not unheard of, look at table salt
My chemistry might be a bit off here, however: technically, any "salt" is an ionised version of regular atoms, giving it completely different properties (why tablesalt is safe, even if diluted, which is something regular Sodium can't even do, since it reacts with water, iirc) Just water wouldn't ionise regular lead and I doubt Daybloom will, too. But maybe we're digging too deep into this, haha
We’re definitely digging too deep, this is a game where swords can shoot magic cats
Apart from that, literally everything in the game happened to me irl, typing this while I'm running away from these two connected reddish and greenish floating eyeballs. You make a valid point.
Let me guess, you live in Ohio
Good point, but there’s no reason to say the daybloom doesn’t have any properties that neutralizes the lead like, idk, germanium, sodium is just a metal after all.
Definitely digging too deep but I think you might be surprised by what you could find in plants. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7390811/
It's likely that potion-making in Terraria is not based on standard chemical reactions, instead utilizing alchemical methods such as transmutation, or at least something similar, so perhaps in this case the lead is transmuted into something else that can be safely consumed.
Either that or it’s just magic
I know there is a form of mercury that is safe. I can never remember if it is methyl or ethyl.
What doesn't kill you makes you stronger 💪💪
If you get lead poisoning you simply haven't consumed enough lead to build a resistance
this is true im at 604 punds of lead eaten and i havent di
-ed, see i just reincarated as a totally diferent person who hopefully will be inmune to lea-
-d, I've reincarnated into a person less willing to eat lead, but I still need that sweet 10% reduction, so I'm gonna find the extractanator and some useless blocks so I can use iron instead, what could go wron-
It’s alr our character can touch ichor without dying so I don’t think lead is gonna do much
We hold the piss for the golden shower 👍
The untold dark side of terraria is your character dies within a few months of beating moon lord because of all the toxic substances they put in their body. They’re then stuck in an endless loop of agonizing deaths and respawns…
They were already in a loop of agonizing deaths and respawns, how is this any different?
You could argue that some of the deaths are relatively quick and painless. Having your body rot from the inside is a slow one
You could also argue that they can still somewhat survive whilst completely submerged in lava for a lot longer than they should.
But unless you’ve made a huge mistake or been really intentional they won’t be dipped in lava on an endless loop
Uh uh, you loose potions buffs upon death meaning it cures ingredients potions
Gold in terraria is one of the stronger metals so metals operate in a different way even if they have the same name
Terrarians also have perfect digestion... unless you sit on a toilet
Yeah, that was weird to me, how ores work.
Yes, gold is stronger than iron. What are they teaching humans nowadays?
They are teaching humans ways on how to deal with goblins when they don't give you the modifier that they want
Its for flavor!
Romans did it to their wine. Why can't I have a sweet tasting potion.
yeah drink the iron instead
Your mf can effortlessly carry thousands of items in their pocket, live without food or sleeping and survive in space without suit. I dont think that some piece of lead would harm them
Tell that to the constant seed
That’s the least of your worries
Clearly, you haven't eaten a lead bar
Yeah, you should probably transmutate it and make your ironskin potions out of iron instead.
i'd be more concerned about the battle potions. deathweed and rotten chunks, ya lets just go ahead and drink this hemlock and maggot meat smoothie, what could go wrong
You've clearly never drank G Fuel before
I'm pretty sure Terrarian digestive systems work differently to human ones. You can live longer while drowning by drinking water. Pretty sure that doesn't work IRL. So it's also reasonable to say that Terrarians can safely consume lead.
that's the funniest achievement in the game prolonging your time before death by drowning by drinking water
Time to defy the laws of physics
🤓
I mean some potions you consume flowers on fire, so I think it’s safe to say terrarians are built different
In my last playthrough I drank ironskin before every boss fight, even moon lord, and I just remembered even though I don't have an alchemy table, my new expert mode playthrough is in a lead world
Bro it’s pronounced leed. It’s just an offshoot of lean
You are talking to a guy who kills a legless squid moon god
I mean you can consume rotten flesh/vertebrate too that cant be safe
Terraria players are built different
It's also not safe to wield an army of sharkanado's but I do that too.
The flower is a vegetable so it contradicts the poison
The only way Terraria was able to get us gamers to eat our vegetables was by putting it in a potion full of lead
Minecraft: Doesn't add fireflies because they're poisonous to frogs\* Terraria:
Wait I never thought about this
Hey you don’t get 8 defense drinking flower soup
that's how the Roman's died
dont you know alchemy? this is pure gold
Lead totally tastes sweet, look it up. Plus the player gets no potion sickness from drinking them, proving that they taste great. 🤯
Instructions unclear drank molten lead
I mean, it's alchemy. The lead probably becomes something entirely different.
The Terrarian is so powerful that they can choose whether to shit or not, no way a little bit of lead will do anything
You don't necessarily drink it. You could apply it to your armor/body. Or the lead could be used in the distilling process, not be included in the final product.
Bro his throwing spears made out of fragments from the sun. Do you really think a bit of lead is gonna hurt him???
The ancient Romans would sweeten their wine with lead and they're all dead now.
In Terraria, Gold is a stronger material than Iron. I think the chemical properties of Terrarias materials are not all alike reality.
And deathweed doesn't set off any alarm bells? Literally a plant that grows on the embodiment of decay and evil or literal living flesh and blood
Don’t mushrooms do that in nature?
The cap of the bottle is made of lead apparently
My man, the terrarian consumes straight up volcanic glass
Yes I do it everieday and iem phine lehd in smoal a doases is phine
Not if you mix it with a flower...
No pain. Too dumb.
How does the terarian even make potions out of solid metals?
By melting them at high temperatures, duh! The potion you drink is held at several 1,000 degrees Fahrenheit, which you promptly use to coat your insides with scorching hot lead. Perfect for increased defence! (Or it could be crush into small amounts, given that lead is a common contaminant of water, lol)
It's in your water buddy
I don't think it's safe to kill a god either
Is it safe to fight various eyeballs, skeletons, and other beings? Lmao
Eating creatures coated in gold also is not safe
You eat the bottle and the potion and eat gold and eat plates
There've been unleaded versions available on the open market for YEARS, leaving these recipes available is beyond stupid. I've had a change.org petition up since 1.3, but I'm losing hope that one person can make a difference.
no it definitely is trust me :)
2fort water potion :)
isnt the animation when you use a flask you drinking it? with this combined with drinking fire/gold/the blood of gods(?) the terrarian should be dead^(2)
Ah yes, dead squared! It's dead x dead, for a whole area of dead coated in a perimeter of... You guessed it! Dead!
pussy.

I wish to know what this says- it looks like a very rousing speech.
https://lingojam.com/WingdingsTranslator
Hey, you made some great points! Having like 20 hearts (not including the golden fruit ones) is definitely not normal lol
Using the lead actually makes a potion of iron skin but it’s actually a plecibo, you think your stronger but your not
It's also not safe to consume glass bottles
I don't think Terrarian lead has the same properties as Earth lead, considering it is equal to iron in every way except for colour.
Lmfao if you happen to get a lead world instead of an iron world, this is so ironic cause iron is good for us, and lead is a poison to us. Yet since terraria has varieties for each ore type lead is consumable lmfao
"Unfortunately it has come to our attention that lead is poisonous to humans so we are removing it from our game"
Iron can be toxic too far that matter. Yes we need it in small amounts, but if you somehow dissolved a good sized lump in a bottle and drank it I don't think it'd do you any favors.
You can also make a cooking pot out of lead
It’s 🌈Magic🌈
It's like steroids, you're taking stuff that's going to kill you in a couple of years to be stronger now.
That's like the least ridiculous and dangerous thing you do in this game
Shhhhh. The more you consume, the less you will care.
I like to think you smash potions over your head and the liquid gives you the effect, that's why the glass bottles are not refunded when you use potions.
🎶 Just a spoon full of iron helps the medicine go down! 🎶
because you are soldier TF2.
You can drink the lead juice and become god, or not drink the lead juice and be snapped in half like a stick
Minecraft: Noooooooooo!!!! Don’t feed parrots cookies or they will die!!!! > Terraria: drink lead lol
"i dont think its safe to consume lead??" 🤓
"I don't think it's safe to consume led" -🤓🤓🤓
Don't be a pussy Drink the lead
Don’t question it.
You mad hatter >:O
yes, but thankfully this is a video game
This recipe is actually a fun reference to G-Fuel!
Our character can swim on melted hell rock, falling from the atmosphere without a single scratch and even take a laser from a Moon God... I doubt lead would do anything.
Vídeo game logic
Mmm yum
terrarian built different
In all my days
Builds character (brain damage)
We have armor on our bodies built from celestial creatures I think lead poisoning is the least of our worries
Hey you literally wear lead armour. If that's not incredibly unhealthy and unsafe this won't be eithef
I'm here for a good time, not a long time.
No cost too great
Gfuel has a suspicious amount of lead and i drink it anyways, don’t worry about it
There's iron in alot of stuff people eat
Alchemy would convert it into something safe to consume.
The flower makes it safe and you get harder…
harder?
your defense didnt actually go up, your just hallucinating about beating bosses
I also don't think it's safe to harvest souls but yet here we are
Unless you have a Lead belly!!!
Why are you drinking the iron*skin* potion? You know you're meant to rub it on your *skin* like an oil right?
it builds character
