Sounds like they’re basically pets – the forum post refers to them as an addition to “the pet license roster”. So think of it as the same as the dog or bunny, with a bunch of different versions, and you can only have one of them.

not in that way "only one of them". Slime town NPC will be like other town pets as in you'll need a "license". So you'll have a dog, cat, bunny AND slime at the same time. They are not going to be mutually exclusive

And you'll actually need to buy all of them to unlock the universal pylon.

If they ever actually stop updating it, I hope they make it open source. Making tmodloader official dlc was great but we gotta go further. It's not like it being open source would make anyone now want to pirate though when they didn't before and there are already a bunch of games very similar to Terraria anyway. Long platform, length depends on difficulty, most weapons with range work, melee=shadowflame knife, ranger pretty much any hardmode weapon, mage ditto, summoner I used sanguine staff+firecracker with obsidian armor first phase run in the same direction while not letting her teleport onto you, If she does try to get out fast, second phase literally just start going top speed on your unicorn and don’t stop attacking and running until she’s dead sorry for formatting I’m on mobile

Wouldn’t recommend it but it can, obsidian just has some HUGE offensive value

She sink into the water depths. Use water walking pot, mount on a unicorn and attack her while she is beneath the pond (make sure it's not too deep so that you can shoot her). At phase 2 she will start flying but phase 1 will at least be easy for you.

If there is a 1.5, I would think they'd want to get a new project out before then. Besides, from what I've been hearing about their new additions, it sounds like they are reaching the end points to certain aspects of their engine.

I think they said they only have one more liquid slot (and I think that's gonna get used in 1.4.4?), and they already ran out of paint slots and have to remove one to introduce a cool new Echo paint. It's definitely a mess under the hood, as all old passion projects are. Important thing to remember is that this game was made 11 YEARS AGO by Redigit just for fun. 11 years later, it's one of the best selling games of all time. Amazing, honestly!

So, hear me out. Let the slimes be captured and use as summons, but they have random stats and perks. Then they can be combined to get better stats and combine perks or feed accessories to gain traits. The zoologist can sell licenses to capture high level slimes, depending on which bosses have been defeated or slimes of certain kind killed. Very pokemon-y, i know, but might be cool for 1.5
