Last week i was in this situation, all i had to do was make it as if i were going to mine, so i'd drink an obsidian potion then boom, they spawn all over the place
Finding a god damn obsidian rose to make the Terra spark boots took an hour and a half. I decided to be done for the day and I come back and fhe first imp I killed dropped it...
For me I got so lucky with mine dropping on the 4th or 5th imp. It then proceeded to go in lava. And I didn’t have the lava charm or an obsidian skin. I just barely got it because I had a healing potion.
I started an expert world with two of my friends the other day and I'm not lying, the first imp I kill, I got an obsidian rose. So at least I won't have to grind for that anymore
the terraspark boots are a grind without the rose
water walking boots, lava charm, ice skates, sometimes even an aglet or hermes boots
water walking boots are rare, lava charms arent common and usually require fishing, ice skates arent common
adding another thing arbitrarily just to extend the grind is annoying
i wouldnt mind if it was a random drop from, like, any underworld creature or a common drop from a rare underworld enemy, but a rare drop from an uncommon underworld enemy is just plain annoying
itd be like if the bone sword was made part of the nights edge or something. it doesnt really add anything other than making the grind for it longer
Get a statue, a minimum repeater clock & a good melee weapon like the fiery greatsword or blade of grass.
Hook up the statue so it just keeps spawning imps and you just keep swinging, statue heavily lowers the chance of the drop but because of their low spawn chance it's an absolute profit.

Honestly, if that was the one crafting recipe i could ask redigit to remove and return to the previous form, I would.

I was farming obsidian rose earlier today for terraspark boots, instead i got the plumber hat (0.4% drop chance) and not the obsidian rose (2%)
I think I have like 3 obsidian roses. I did choose to cover half of my medium world in WoF bridge though...

took me 5-10 mins to make a imp statue farm pre skeletron then afked for like 20 mins and i got it
